Aardman Studios

Aardman still rock!

no there is a short on the dvd about some bully and this little kid who aer on some kind of a stage.

The bully ends up getting hurt or killed for his actions or something like that…

it is really wierd but t is only on the dvd

So, how many of you saw A Matter of Loaf and Death ? I thought it was brilliant, as always when it’s Nick Park behind the camera. Pure Wallace & Gromit.

I hope these two characters will be seen in another feature soon.

I saw it! It was v. good.

I like all their work. Flushed Away wasn’t AS good as Wallace and Gromit or Chicken Run but it was an okay movie. Shaun the Sheep is pretty good too.

Yup, I saw it, Archibald. It was brilliant, as usual, and I especially liked some of the intertwined darker themes. To be honest, I think I prefer the Wallace and Gromit short films over their feature film, though it’s all good.

I like Wallace and Gromit alot, but I hated Chicken run. Flushed Away is pretty good, but it would of been better if it was stop motion. I really like aardman but the only thing I don’t like about them is they were working with Dreamworks :imp: Thank god they broke up!

By the way I haven’t seen A matter of loaf and deaf. Do any of you have the links?

You can watch it through the BBC iPlayer, though it’s usually up for only a week after the original showing (which, in this case, was Christmas Day I think)- A Matter of Loaf and Death

but only if you’re in the UK.

Is it blocked for people outside the UK? I didn’t realise that, just thought it was a general sort of BBC website.

Don’t even get me started on the BBC iPlayer! Yeah, it does block outside IP addresses. I’ve missed watching many-a TV series on the site because it blocks me. I guess they want overseas TV stations to buy the program, rather than have international viewers watch it for free on their site. You can get around it by using Foxy Proxy with Firefox, or going through a proxy website. But they can be pretty slow, and hence the video loads slowly.

I never realised that! How stupid! I can kind of see why they’re doing that, but still! I’ve looked around, but I can’t seem to find it anywhere else. How irritating.

It’s not free. we pay liscence fee for all this.

I do like them, but im not the biggest fan of there “claymation” style.

I for one wouldnt put them next to pixar as second best, id rank Dreamworks at #2.

The Wrong Trousers is probably one of my fave short films ever. It’s so hilarious.

And Chicken Run rules. I do love listening to the soundtrack in the morning, it makes me feel really good.

Being a child of a woman who wanted to Marry ‘Joe 90’ and absolutely adored Tony Hart and his Morph, I was undoubtably going to be a fan of Britain’s best Animation Factory… Each Christmas the Two Men (well Man and his Dog) return to my screen and without them Christmas wouldn’t exist…

Being a Student at UWE did have its ups getting to read all the notes from those doing Animation at one of its Campuses, reading the insight from lecturers who worked and were connected to Aardman

Thank the man upstairs for the falling of the Aardman/Dreamworks Alliance, Dreamworks ruined Aardman forcing them to do CGI work, which was not they’re forte… But A Triumphant lift with the Return to Aardman’s W&G and A Mater of Loaf and Death which was Awesome .

I love them kind of jokes… is like you know what’s going to happend but when it happends you laugh.
And I also love the fact that, if you pay attention, you can see fingerprints on gromit

I MUST BE THE BIGGEST Aardman fan, ive got so much merchandise its unbelivable. im visited many Aardman sets upclose, there really cool. ive even got a personalised sketch of shaun the sheep from the director golly, i also create stopmotion animations myself since i was 12.

That’d be so neat to see the Aardman sets up close! I’m a bit jealous, Jordan!

I just got it on DVD. While the pace seems a bit rushed at times, I absolutely love it for its finale, because…

…the forklift battle of Fluffles and Piella is pure genius -
my favourite scene from Aliens spoofed to comedic perfection.
Who would have thought a cute poodle can be as badass as Ripley?
