Okay, in New Jersey , ABC is on channel 4.
Do you know if it will be 8pm like all the previous years ??

I’m not sure, I’d just check the listings on your TV guide/menu that day
The Oscars are tomorrow, and to celebrate the event I will be indulging myself in film all day, preparing myself for the winners, and existing in a state of extreme hype, so that the minute the show airs…I’ll be fast asleep in my room.
Well, the show is long enough as it is, plus it airs at 1:00 A.M. here on a school night, and I have a huge test on Tuesday. I’ll find a stream somewhere on Monday. Good luck to all the nominees, and good luck to all the people who are committed to staying up all night the day before work/school. You guys are my heroes.
As I understand it, the Animation Branch of the Academy nominates for the Animated Feature category (this is how you get nominees like Secret of Kells and The Illusionist, which probably haven’t been seen by many voters outside the Animation Branch), while the Academy as a whole nominates for Best Picture. One way to fix the issue of worthy films being excluded from Animated Feature would be to drop the “quota” system and make a rule that from 3 to 5 films are nominated, based on some scoring/percentage of votes system: The members of the Animation Branch would cast ballots for up to 5 films they think should be nominated, and if there are 4 or 5 films that score high enough on enough ballots, they all get in, even if there are only 10 or 12 eligible films that year.
Conversely, if there are 20 films some year, and the Animation Branch decides only 3 of them are worth nominating, that’s what you get.
^ That would be much fairer, so it’s unlikely to happen for a while.
I wouldn’t mind if the Academy takes a year off of preparing for a show so that they could re-design their voting system. I don’t know how everyone else would feel though.
^ Well, the problem is that it would be unfair for that year’s movies.
I don’t mean not having nominees and winners, I mean not having an expensive televised event with loads of celebrities, comedic routines, and planning at the Kodak theatre. Think the Golden Globes during the Screenwriters’ Strike.
Oh, ok. I thought you were referring to the actual awards, not just the ceremony.
I think it’ll be airing when it’s Monday morning in Sydney… but Channel 9, the broadcaster, will be airing a delayed telecast at night.
I’m so excited for tommorrow night, you have no idea!
I have! Because I’m excited too!
Sa-weet! If I could choose the Oscar winners, this is what it would be like:
Best Picture: The King’s Speech (Or Black Swan. Both are fantastic)
Best Actor: Colin Firth
Best Actress: Natalie Portman
Best Sup. Actor: Geoffrey Rush
Best Sup. Actress: Helena Bonham Carter
Best Score: The King’s Speech
Best Animated Film: Toy Story 3
^ It will go very much like that, except I think Bale will win the Supporting Actor prize (Rush is my favorite too )
And about, the score, there are divided opinions, and most point to The Social Network. Pity, as I didn’t like its music at all.
I love the The Social Network score, and it is my second favorite score nominated (behind 127 Hours), but it’s a shame as my top three favorite scores from 2010 weren’t even nominated.
Yeah, the score of The King’s Speech wasn’t that great in my opinion. It’s pleasant, but not terribly inventive. That’s why I like the scores of The Social Network and Inception. (Hoping TSN gets it) It’s a shame that Tron’s score didn’t get nominated, though.
I can’t wait to see the academy awards tonight. I’ll be rooting for my picks.
Ah! I can’t wait! I’m hoping that TS3 will win Best Picture (of course ) but I know it won’t. So The King’s Speech for me! I’m also routing for Hailee Steinfeld for Best Supporting Actress. As for the score, either The King’s Speech or HTTYD. And I really really hope that “I See the Light” gets it for the song.
I didn’t like it either. It seemed really blah
But I can’t can’t can’t wait!
Whoevers watching, Toy Story 3 just won Best Animated Feature Film
Toy Story 3 is Best Animated Feature!
Sadly, Day & Night didn’t make it
