Alpha and Omega

I’m sure I would’ve liked this movie a lot better if it wasn’t about wolves. They’re cool but immensely overrated.

If it would be about axolotls, or komodo dragons, or hyenas, or skunks, or badgers, or tigers, or red pandas… or actually a species that is ACTUALLY endangered, I’m sure I would’ve liked it so much more…

anyone feel the same?

^ I would like it better if it weren’t for the lame jokes. But it would be a lot more interesting if it were about an animal that isn’t in movies very often.

Oh yeah, I saw an ad for it on TV…my mom was like “If they say stuff like that in the ads, what do they say in the movie?” I agreed with her that it looked terrible. :unamused:

Wait… Seriously? Bolleywood went CGI?

o_o

Are you talking about Roadside romeo Czarine? (I looked it up when it was said much earlier on this thread).

Because that trailer seriously terrified me. Like a lot. It was horrific.

You better believe it. Bollywood is already producing great live-action blockbusters, so it’s only a matter of time before they start on the animation market. Of course, that doesn’t mean that they can’t co-exist with Western studios. I believe it’ll be the start of a beautiful friendship (or intense rivalry!).

Roadside Romeo ain’t half bad. I did a review of it a while back, you really have to see it from the Indian moviegoer perspective, which traditionally expects a lot of slapstick comedy and musical numbers. It’s far from perfect; there’s lacklustre graphics and a tendency to revert to juvenille humour, but it had its heart in the right place.

I think Alpha & Omega is a considerable improvement. And it’s by a different studio and different financier two years after, hence the quality jump.

I saw a TV spot for this during Wipeout. Even worse than the trailer. I’m serious.

^ Oh, you watch Wipeout? Isn’t that show funny?

Yeah, I love it!

Anyway, all they did was rehashed some scenes from the trailer and add a scene that looks amazingly idiotic.

So there’s a minigame you can play in Poptropica that’s really a not-so-subtly-disguised ad for the movie.

Alpha and Omega ad in Poptropica

I like the fact that it involves collecting floating flowers and dodging random boulders rolling towards you for no reason. 8D

I just decided to watch the trailer today. This doesn’t really look like a great movie.

I agree. It looks completely mediocere.

This movie looks really kinda meh to me.

Plot: Not seeming very original so far
Characters: Look like stereotypes with too many famous actors
Animation: Nothing very appealing or original
Trailer: Full of terrible furry breeding jokes

Not very impressed.

I saw a different trailer on TV tonight. And I didn’t think that anything could be lamer than the first trailer, but believe me, it was.

Im a sucker for movies my friend and I called cupid (cute and stupid).

I’ve accually enjoyed all the cupid movies I’ve seen (minus Doogal…) So of course I wanna see this.
However, Im a bit dissapointed over the fact that wolfs (and penguins) are used so much in movies.
Give me a cat movie!

Either way, I wanna see this cuz I know it’ll be stupid.

Either a cat movie, a gorilla movie, a platypus movie, or an aye-aye or pygmy marmoset movie. :stuck_out_tongue:

That would be awesome!
I agree, make a movie about animals that hardly get any reputation!

But on topic, I do think the potty humour is a bit over the top. The trailer was full of it and I do hope that the whole movie does’nt thrive off it…

I just can’t get over the fact that the female alpha has hair. Ugh, it just looks weird.

And bejeebus, guys-who-made-this-movie, “Alpha” only refers to the leader of the pack and the leader’s mate. Reading the wikipedia page, it says that she is the daughter of the alpha and is thus one. WOLF PACKS ARE NOT LIKE HIGHSCHOOL POPULARITY STATUS’. I’m pretty sure that the only wolves having puppies are the alpha and his mates. If his mates had the puppies of another male, he would probably kill them. Thus, every member of the pack is his or a former alpha’s offspring. Being alpha isn’t about birthright, its about being the strongest of the pack. If a new wolf was born that was stronger, then they would beat the alpha and take the position. (feel free to correct me if I’m wrong on any of this)

And…what?

“One day, Kate is arranged to mate with the Alpha male of a rival pack to preserve peace.”

Oh, great. So this is basically a movie about the objectification of noble and royal women throughout history. Through a kids movie about talking wolves and dirty jokes.

That’s what irks me about the movie is the whole alpha role.
But Lion King had a similar issue with Nala being in the pride but ends up a mate to Simba. As far as I know, male cubs go off to start a pride and the pride consists of the male, his offspring and the lionesses.

Either way, I still wanna see this just cuz Im a sucker for movies like this.

The thing that irks me most about wolves is how everyone keeps complaining that they’re misunderstood.

You know what animals are misunderstood?
Skunks.
I mean, they’re so cute but they only get hated by most people. The only one that’s genuinely cute without making annoying stink jokes all the time is Bambi’s Flower. :C

And snakes. Man, just snakes. Name me one movie that has a snake that wasn’t evil. (I only know The Wild, The Princess and the Frog, and The Animals of Farthing Wood, arguably, didn’t portray snakes as OMG PURE EBIL)

And what about rats? Oh, Pixar just about covered that with Ratatouille.

All in all, I’m not at all excited for Alpha and Omega, just because it prevented Newt from being released. Or so I think.

But Rio is cool even though it has the same plot, basically.

hmmm…I’m actually kinda excited for this. I think it might be because I think wolves = super coolness. xD
