People at my school love Johnny Depp.
Some peropple are so obsessed, I can’t even explain it.

I’m not a fan of ‘Incredibles’ either- I suppose it’s
because I was never really into comic reading or action-packed films. And superheroes aren’t really my thing.

thatelusivemrtoad- Yeah, exactly. I admit to reading a lot of comics, but not
superhero comics- more indie comics, that are pretty much ignored compared to superhero comics. There is an
element of nostalgia within these superhero comics that isn’t played into too much in The Incredibles, but that
is sort of hinted at.
Also, for
some odd reason, the movie’s volume is pretty low when I watch it and the action scenes become very loud. Might
be just my TV. But I can recall being shouted at for watching it because it had gotten quite loud.
Yeah i’m not the biggest fan of it. I do like it and I enjoy watching it. It’s very well
animated and stuff. But I like some of the other movies cough Cars cough more… ![]()
I’ve noticed that, too. The volume for the interview
and newsreel scenes is pretty low. It’s a little frustrating when I have to keep adjusting
it.
~~=oP
Well, I believe Brad Bird wanted that for a reason. You see, in the commentary, he wanted to start with
something unpredictable. This is the character interviews. Most expected action in the first scene. In contrast,
Bird started it off soft and calm. Then, followed with the “Whamo Blamo”.
Well as some of us here know…i love the
Incredibles but not as much as i used to. I’ve become into an insane anime freak…O_o But we wont start with
that.
The Incredibles is an awesome film. I don’t really have anything against it… i like how PIXAR
does something different for every film.
Well, at least we have another
Incredibles lover here. Or at least had one. Well, I’m sure you had fun crazing about the TI movie. And that’s
okay if you don’t like it any more.
And I agree about Pixar doing something different. You can always
expect something original with Pixar and nothing less.
It’s funny that if this movie was live-action or not
made by Pixar, I would probably neer see it. I’m not into loud action movies with crime fighting and such but…
it was Pixar. And that made all the difference to me. I prefer movies like Finding Nemo but this one was great
too. Not my favorite, but great nonetheless.
Incredibles is my son’s favourite (who is 3) and I have to agree with him.
As a
result of the above, I am exposed to the movie several times a week and have probably seen it more often than
Star Wars! Well perhaps not that often hee hee.
Yet no matter how often I see it I never get tired of
the movie. Great characters, great dialogue, great visuals, great story- the whole package!
I love the
homage to Bond and the Superhero genre. One of the UKs leading sci-fi magazines said it was better than 99.9% of
live action superhero films!
Having said that, when I saw Finding Nemo for the first time on DVD and
caught the Incredibles teaser I had a feeling that the film would flop. Fortunately I was wrong!
PS Who
does the voice of Syndrome and where have I heard him before? It’s been bugging me for years.
lucasisking - Unless I am much mistaken, Jason Lee
is the mastermind behind Buddy Pine/Syndrome. He also voices the character of Underdog in the film with the same
name.
And I know he did a voice in some other film that my sister and I have
watched before, but I can’t remember what it is! It’s so frustrating. (sniggger) ![]()
I know your movie,
Mitch. ![]()
Are you thinking of Bones from Monster
House? He was the character who was hypnotized by the red kite and lured into the
house.
~~=oP
Jason Lee!
It’s obvious now - thanks bud! Is there any chance
the movie your takling about was Robots? I remember hearing a voice actor in that that sounded remarkably like
Syndrome.
PixarVixen - Haha – nope, it’s not that one! I looked up his records on the
Yahoo! Movies page, and I did see his Monster House credit; but nope, wrong movie.
But don’t worry, I’ll think of it! Thanks for helping me, in any case.
![]()
lucasisking - No problem! And you know what, it just might be
Robots. I’ll have to look at that…
Jason Lee was not in Robots. You might be thinking of
Greg Kinnear. He voiced Ratchet.
Maybe this will help, Mitch:

I looked there and I
still couldn’t find the movie I’m thinking of. I know I’m not hallucinating. Oh
well – I don’t want to turn this into a chat board. (snigger)
I’ll let you know when I figure it out.
I’ll ask my sister; maybe she knows.

Thanks for the link though,
PixarVixen. ![]()
lucasisking: So you like the Incredibles too? Well, I guess you can thank your son for exposing you to that
movie, that incredible movie you can say.
Are you
kidding? It’s a wicked movie!
Actually though I liked it before my boy took an interest. Have to
admit I had a bit of a thing for Elastigirl!
lucasisking: Well, that is something most of us on this board have in common. I too have the liking (maybe
loving) for her too. But usually, once I start talking about this, Dash starts hammering all over me.
