Anime Anyone?

I wanna hear what anime is popular on this

site.
of course my fav is One Piece. Naruto comes in second. anyone else?

This is going to be embarassing, but I like Sailor Moon, and Digimon.

The

only anime I ever cared for was the Pok?mon TV series and Hamtaro. Other than that, anime just isn’t my cup of

tea.

I do like when the two styles of animations are fused together, like in

Teen Titans.

Mine of course is One Piece! ^^ (The Japanese version is the best! I can’t believe that 4Kids had to mess

it up… With the lame jokes and the corny puns…)

And Naruto is okay for me. I used to watch Sailor

Moon, some episodes of Digimon, and Hamtaro! ^^;;; Oh! And I forgot to add in Pok?mon too! I mean, I still like

it. Kinda.

By the way, welcome to the forums, DirtyBirdy! I was wondering if

you’d find us. ^^

I like Sailor Moon, Digimon

and Prince of Tennis

I’ve only ever

watched Sailor Moon and Ronin Warriors . . . yeah,

Gargoyles and Ronin Warriors were the goog ol’ days .

. .

I love what I’ve seen of Lupin the Third, and I also

enjoyed Tenchi Muyo when it was on here a few years back, and Dead Leaves is one of my favourite films, haha -

along anything by Hiyao Miyazaki that I’ve seen so far, which is Howl’s Moving Castle, Spirited Away, Princess

Monoke, & Kiki’s Delivery Service - I definitely need to go to the university library and take out some more

of his work, because they’re all so fantastic.

The last film I saw was Tokyo Godfathers, I enjoyed it -

it was hilarious in places and had a sweet storyline, plus a cross-dressing hobo as one of the main characters

I tend to see the movies a lot more than the series’. I lost interest in anim? and manga because I found a lot

of the fandom for it to be foaming and insane, and people can really turn you off of something like that, which

is a shame because a lot of it really is very high quality and worth seeing XD As I am now discovering that I

have classmates who will lend me these things

Oh! I forgot about Lupin the Third. That

dates back to the 70s, but I think it’s a great show. I was introduced to it through Adult Swim. I haven’t

seen it on for a long time. I miss it.

And I love your new avatar, Vim! It cracked me

up.

I’ve

really not seen enough of Lupin the Third! A friend of mine brought one of the movies over the other week and I

thought it was hilarious XD (The one about cloning)

Hee, I love the avatar, too - wish I had half a clue

who made it, but oh well!

I

honestly don’t get why so many people obsess over anime – the only kind I’ve ever watched would be Hayo

Miyazaki’s work and Nickelodeon’s Avatar. =)

Ahh Anime! How I love thee! I personally enjoy DBZ,

Hellsing (the OVA and Manga more then the “anime”), some Trigun and the always wonderful Akira just to

name a few!
Of course, there are reasons why some people just don’t like anime and here are a few…

I think

anime… the CRAPPY anime, is over publisized, and I can’t even begin to tell ya how much I hate that. The only

anime I can forgive for being over publisized is DBZ :unamused:

LOL! That list is

great! I’m not a massive fan of anim?, although I do love the style and have a couple of Peach

Girl comics lying around here somewhere. VimFuego got me into Tenchi

Muyo a few years ago, and – like everyone else – yes, I too went through the

Pok?mon fad, but the best of the genre is Spirited

Away. The animation is visually stunning and it’s a beautiful story. I have a friend who

doesn’t even watch animation (can you believe it?!), and it’s one of his favourite movies, too.

The movie Spirted Away kinda scared

me a bit. it was just creepy.
BTW, When I said I liked One Piece, I mean the Sub. the cruddy 4kids dub stinks!

I remeber my cousins forcing me to watch Sailor Moon, I really didn’t know what the heck was going on either.

P.S. It’s great to be back! <img src=“{SMILIES_PATH}/grinandwink.gif” alt=“;-D” title="Grin and

Wink" />

I adore Teen Titans, although technically, it’s not

my kind of thing. It’s just so funny, and has some really good story lines.

Hayao Miyazaki at Studio

Gibli makes some very good anime films. Spirited Away is definitely one of the best, but Howl’s Moving Castle is

another popular one.

Miyazaki movies are the best… my favorites are Spirited

Away, My Neighbor Totoro, and Princess Monoko. They all have similar underlying themes… they’re mostly about

young girls discovering magic and getting past materialistic views (although they are all very strong and down to

earth girls to begin with…)

I haven’t watched anime in a while (I went through an anime phase a while

back though). I watched a lot of shojo. I think. I like Angelic Layer and .Hack (I dont remember which one… it

was the one where they looked really young). Air is also really good. The problem with .Hack and Air is that they

end and they leave the audience so confused. I didn’t get either of them. But everything up to the end was

really good.

I personally prefer manga when it comes to those manga-anime crossovers. Tsubasa is

really good. All of the stuff written by CLAMP is good stuff.

Digimon rules. It is my #1 favourite anime. My

other favourites are Full Moon wo Sagashite (I also collect the manga), Revolutionary Girl Utena, and

.hack//SIGN. Oh, and I also like Angelic Layer… the music is beautiful.

I like to attend the Anime North

and CN Anime conventions (in Toronto) every year.

HOW could I leave out Miyazaki’s work?! *bangs head against the

wall*
Yeah, I don’t think any anime fan should miss good ol’ Miyazaki! And Akira, definately one the best

older animes out there! Beautiful animation too! gushes over Akira for about 2 hrs

Didn’t Lasseter did some work on one of the films by

Miyazaki??

I think Lasseter and Pixar just put the English versions together. They got all the

voice actors and just… put the animation and the English dubs together. They probably also designed the dvd and

such. But Lasseter and Miyazaki are just really good friends… they bounce inspiration off each other.
