I can’t remember where I saw it, but once, they showed this thing of Lasseter
recieving a surprise from all of the other people at Pixar- Miyazaki was coming for a visit, and was bringing a
very large present with him! This gift turned out to be a large, Japanese style cat.
Lassater has a corner
in his office dedicated to Miyazaki’s works, as well.
You mean a corner of his office not stuffed with toys???

That was in the special features of Howl’s Moving Castle
Oh and the cat is a character from Miyazaki’s movie, My
Neighbor Totoro. I thought it was a rather scary cat. But that’s one of the main themes in his movies… seeing
past things being scary and realizing that they can be nice too.
No, it’s just stuffed with Japanese toys.

Eh…I’ve never really been into the whole anime/manga
thing, myself…Although Miyazaki films are excellent.
I hate how common it has become, but, then again, I hate how some people hate it just because
of how common it has become. If that makes any sense…

Oh, my
head!
I’m currently watching Azumanga Daioh. It’s so adorable!
Well to be truthful, I love all types of animation, but there’s something about some Japanese
animation that I dislike. It’s really hard to explain but I love the really really cartooney animation like
chuck jones, or the incredible duo Ollie johnson and Frank thomas that stayed true to acting. I like really
beleveable chacthers even in the most zaney situations, and I want to be able to turn the sound off and still be
able to read there lips… you just cant do that with japanese animation. I’ve watched some of the stuff my lil
bro watches and I really was starting to feel like I was being gyped out of some left out
inbetweens.
But other than that, I love it. In my own opinion Miyazaki RULES Japanese animation by a
long shot… it’s incredible incredible stuff, and for those who disagree, try and look at some of the art from
that stuff… oh my god, it’s insane!
[b]OK… It might take me a while to type this.

Sammeh’s uber-awesome list of uber-awesome
animes:
-Chobits
-Fullmetal Alhcemist
-Comic Party (XD)
-Fruits Basket * (My current obsession. I
own the series and DVD< and I have all currently released English Manga books. 1-14)
-Argentsoma (I’ve
seen like 4 episodes. XD)
and Movies:
-Howl’s Moving Castle
-Spirtied Away
-Princess
Mononoke
I like anime, but not the one where they just fight all the time… pointlessly.
I used to like Pokemon and Sailor Moon. But now that I’ve gotten more serious about
animation, I can’t bring myself to like it anymore. I won’t point out it’s bad points since I don’t want to
offend anyone.

Yes… and if you know what kind of anime Salior Moon orginated as in Japan. Well, nevermind.
I’ve
been watching Azumanga Daioh lately. Awesome random fun. It’s got it’s ‘teen’ parts though. It’s about these
girls in highschool, and two of the female teachers. One of the girls is ten years old and skip a few grades into
highschool. Each episode has like 5 mini episodes within it.
Lol. They always have like random little girls stuck in the high schools… and
they’re somehow smarter than the older kids.

xD I love it.
I have more to add to my list. ahem
-Pita-ten
-Samurai 7
Pita-ten
more so the manga, but it is an anime, too. They’re all chibi. <3 Even though it does get dark.
Samurai 7 I finished watching. And at first combining Samurai and well, machines didn’t seem like a good
idea. But somehow, it worked. The machinese almost look like Gundams. I’m still not sure if I like the ending,
but that’s for my own reasons, not saying it was a bad ending. XD

Teen titans being my fav right now!
I’m warming up to Naruto too. My past favs
being the whole DragonBall series(DB,DBZ,DBGT…)
I liked spirited away too.
I personally am not into Anime but a
lot of my friends are so I’ve been exposed to quite a bit of it. Sailor Moon’s probably the one I’m most
familiar with. My best friend actually got me a Sailor Moon tape a few years ago. I only watched it once…

-cough- You wanna give those to me, Sam? XD
