Anyone can cook... Right?!

I tried cooking something new. I tried to make some Jello. It was good, but the problem was, I didn’t leave it in the fridge for a long time, so it came out all liquidy.

To add to the list, I attempted to heat up some macaroni a couple of days ago (which is something I hadn’t done in a while). Darn thing was too hot, so I had to put it in the freezer. I can’t even cook a dang block of macaroni!!! :stuck_out_tongue:

I am going to try to cook by myself again. i might need to call my girlfriend to help me out.

Mitch- I actually laughed out loud at that! Though a friend of mine was telling me about how silly she had been with something as simple as a piece of toast- instead of spreading the Marmite on after she had made the toast, she spread the Marmite on the bread, put the bread in the toaster, then was confused as to why the bread wasn’t coming out of the toaster! So, now, whenever she puts any bread in her toaster, it automatically comes out tasting of Marmite.

lizardgirl - Puh-HA! That’s hilarious!

Lol. I’m glad I made you laugh. I crack myself up when it comes to cooking. The best thing I can do when

it comes to the subject is chop vegetables; I seem to have absolutely no problem

doing it whatsoever, and I actually love it! Is that weird or what?

But

yeah. Stupid macaroni… :stuck_out_tongue: (snigger)

Wow, I wish I can be you. I freak out everytime I have to uuse a knife, well, not

all of the time. But I always have this feeling I am going to cut off something.

The Star Swordsman - But that’s the fun part: To see how fast you can go without

chopping your fingers off! I absolutely love the thrill and suspense of it. I’ve cut myself a fair few times, of

course, but I hardly even feel it. I’m weird, I know. (snigger)

Ah, it seems so fun yet dangerous at the same time too.

Mitch- Ah, yes, the one thing that kind of put me off chopping things up is

when my Dad would always come home after a hard day’s work in the kitchen with hands that were either cut or

burnt.

I remember this one time when my mother tried to

microwave some popcorn and she has almost no knowledge about technology, so she put the bag in for four minutes

which was what the directions on the bag said. And when it was over with, there was no more popcorn left in the

bag, the bag was burnt, etc. Smoke was coming out of the microwave and had filled the house. We had to put out

bowls of vinegar to get the smell out (although you would think that would make it even worse) , and our

microwave now has a permanent orangey burnt color stain on the inside.

She doesn’t make popcorn anymore.

Bill: Holy cow! That was surprising. Well, you can

be thankful that there was no fire right?

TSS - Heheh, yeah. No fire, just a really terrible

smokey stench.

I am not sure if this counts as cooking, but when I was in second grade, i made ice

cream, using the raw materials: chocolate, milk, ice, etc.

I’ve found a

fondness for baking lately. I’ve always like to do it, but lately I actually found a lot of joy in it. I’ve

been improvising recipes I’ve found online. It’s fun to try!

Haha! Yeah, that could really act as a drawback.

(snigger)

Puh-ha! That’s funny. Heck, the whole story was pretty hilarious. My mom

actually did something similar once: She put a jar of peanut butter (with the cap/top still on) in the microwave.

You should have seen the half-second fire that flamed up in the appliance…

However, like

The Star Swordsman said, I’m glad that your house didn’t burn down! Gee

whiz…

Do you guys use cookbooks? How many here try to create thier own recipies?

The Star Swordsman - What’s

a cookbook? :stuck_out_tongue:

Pff – I’m just kidding. I hardly ever scan the pages of a cookbook, but when I do…I

quite enjoy reading the information provided concerning what ingredients are required for a specific recipe and

how to create that dish. Actually, I’m seriously thinking of making some bread after reading a delicious recipe

for banana bread/muffins…

My sister, on the other hand, loves cookbooks and lavishes in creating her

own recipes. She’s on the road to “chefdom”!

TSS: I usually use books that I find buried in

the kitchen bu some of the best stuff I’ve found is online. And even then, I tend to improvise, especially with

treats. I have to find ways to make things still taste good for my dad, who diabetic. I’m not a fan of

splenda, but it’s good for that.

Mostly a

microwave person, but I am capable of baking pizza and cookies on my own.

I

would use a cook book, but i am just too lazy to get the ingredients.
