Aw, c’mon. Where’s your sense of adventure? ![]()
I don’t know. I would try anything from a
cookbook, but I am the kind of cheap guy, ya know what I mean?
One time, I remember us putting bread from the store in the oven (that’s where we keep it) and then a while later (maybe a few days) , my mother turned the oven on because she was going to put something in but forgot that the bread was in there… so when she finally realized that, the plastic on the bread had melted, so we had to throw all of it out.
I tried to cook some ramen soup. It was good, but i almost burned my hands twice. One by putting my hand near the flames, and another for touching the hot pot. ![]()
TSS - Lucky you, I’ve actually got burned on one occasion melting butter I believe.
Trust me, burning yourself, even coming close to burning yourself when cooking, is definetly not the best feeling in the world. Whyd o I let my parents do all the cooking for me as of today? ![]()
TSS - That reminds me of a incident where I actually did get burned really badly on the cheek. I must’ve been about five or six at the time and I leaned a little to close to the frying pan. When my mother lifted it up, I got smacked and then it felt as though one side of my face was on fire. Not a good experience.
Oh my goodness! That sounds really, really painful! How long did the pain last?
I’m not sure exactly, TSS . That was such a long time ago. Maybe 25-30 minutes.
Dude, that must have been the most unpleasant 25-30 minutes of you life. ![]()
Bill - Yow. The same thing happened to me a few years ago, only I burnt one of my fingers instead of my cheek. The pain was excrutiating – it was so hot that it felt cold. Even worse was the fact that it remained that way for approxiamately two days. A burn on the cheek sounds worse than a finger burn, though. Gee whiz… Heh.
Wow, on your finger? WHat were you cooking Mitch?
I hate burns. I got one from a hot dish (out of the oven) on my chin sniffing a casserole. Looking back, it was pretty funny! ![]()
For those of you who do cook, what is your favourite dish to cook? I personally love cooking banana pikelets which my Grandma and I always make. All of my cousins on my mums side have all made them with her at one point. She’s a very good cook. I have the recipe memorised.
This talk of food makes me want to start a recipe thread.
I have a feeling I might be a decent cook, if I weren’t so indecisive and could find the right recipes. My mom would probably let me too, if she weren’t so afraid I’d mess up her kitchen.
Usually, my food turns out looking weird, but tastes the way is should. The closest thing to a real meal I cooked was stuffed spinach manicotti. But it’s tough to find good low calorie meals since I’m so picky.
bawpcwpn: Well, i loved cooking spagetti. It was good, and I did it all by myself on my second try.
TSS - How did that turn out? ![]()
The Star Swordsman - I was baking pizza. It seems that every time I get in contact with pizza something bad happens… ![]()
Puh-ha! That made me laugh. ![]()
Well, it was really, really good. First I boiled the pasta, then heated the sauce, and there ya go!
