If I’m correct here, it was one of the things that got the Renaissance going. Anyway, it would probably help hand drawn animation back on top since everything now is in CGI.
I wish they would do that.
This is old news now but saw a video on Youtube at their brought back Stick Stickity for the block.
Lauren Faust leaves Cartoon Network thanks to CN Real.
Goes on to make My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.
Which will air on CN owned propertie Boomerang in some countries.
And Boomerang can air Powerpuff Girls
Which was worked on by Lauren Faust.
Sorry for double posting but…
Does CN think their viewers are stupid or anything like some people may say?
Do they care?
^I don’t know.
All I know is that we live in a world where MTV doesn’t play music and Cartoon Network plays stuff that aren’t cartoons too.
Cartoon Network
It has good shows (Chowder, Flapjack, Adventure Time, Regular Show, Gumball, also TV Burp) and it’s showing its old shows, altough it is showing live action (I’m less p***d though), Ben 10 extremeness and not always good bumpers. But I still watch the channel, I’ll like and love those above 5 animated shows and don’t hate it nearly as much as “those people”.
Boomerang
Woo boy I’ve gotten annoyed about this one. They show a lot of MODERN cartoons like for some reason Garfield, they have their gn Pet contest thing and childish site, and instead of showing a good amount of classic cartoons like they fg should, they have Puppy in my Pocket. Yup. And while they did start showing Dexter, Mr Bean (why is it on there?) has taken it’s place leaving it only on weekends. Except that every past weekend Scooby Doo, MR BEAN, Garfield and Tom & Jerry (and this week Looney Tunes) have been having weekends dedicated to them. Every time the past weeks.
Nickelodeon
Viacom’s evil, Spongebob and Spongebob and Spongebob reruns (though I love the original show), teens instead of kids, they removed the splat, ect. I’ll still watch iCarly, maybe Victorious and Spongebob (OLD MIND YOU) though.
Nicktoons
Even years back they were airing other stuff instead of classic Nicktoons. They aired Rocko and Ren and Stimpy for a short time later at night but what else? WHAT ELSE? Also more Spongebob and Grizzly Tales. FOR SOME REASON.
Disney Channel
Mockable sitcoms and gets very little intentional attention from me. With the exception of the amazing Phineas and Ferb (which might be on more on Disney XD).
Disney XD
Has Phineas and Ferb, those 3 shows that were announced at Upfront 2011 which I might not even be interested in, but what else? Do I give a ***p about Rated A for Awesome, Zeke and Luther, ect.
Disney Cinemagic
May use for old Disney shows and might for certain Disney Movies. It could be more interesting with its shows (Toon Disney successor) but it is Cinemagic.
I think Nick’s live action shows are just the same crap you can repackage and sell again. It’s no different then Disney’s old live-action shows like Hannah Montana, Jonas Brothers, etc. Anyway, Spongebob I think really has to go. It was great the first three seasons but I think it’s really been downhill since 2005. Like I said, Nickelodeon won’t cancel that show until it can find something good to replace it. Which won’t be anytime soon since Nick is really running out of original ideas.
i just found this thread, i apoligise for starting it again, but i really just wanted to say my opinion.
i dont hate Disney Channel. Sure, some of the shows arent that good, but i respect that there are probably people who like them. I also like the classic shows that they used to play. Same for Nikelodeon.
Now, if theres one thing i cant stand, its people saying that ‘old shows were better’ or ‘the new stuff is terrible’. Also, everyone is hating on the new Disney Channel and Nick sitcoms, and everyone blames the people who are on them, saying things like ‘What are children watching?’ or ‘Teenagers ruined Disney channel’. Dont blame them! Who knows, a lot of them grew up in the 90’s and probably miss the old shows just as much as you do.
Now heres what I think Nick and Disney should do, Nick could air a combination of new shows and old shows, and make more cartoons. That way, they could please all audiences. Disney can do the same thing, and maybe show more of their classics. They could have a limit of 3 sitcoms per channel, and air the shows at certain times depending on the audience.
People can have their opinions and disagree with me all they want, my point is that i think this is what the channels should do so that this hatred can stop. (not that it will, this is just an idea.)
I know Nickelodeon is airing old blocks of shows on one of their digital cable channels, so if that’s successful, I’d like to see regular Nick play around with that more. It’d be cool to see reruns people haven’t seen in forever as opposed to a show that’s on several times a day and of which they’ve seen certain episodes multiple times. But maybe it would still be unpopular? I hardly think kids wouldn’t enjoy a show like “Rugrats.” I agree that I’d like to see a combination of old and new.
But really, I do think a lot of kid shows today are awful compared to what I grew up with. Some shows in recent years, such as from Cartoon Network, have been good and sure are popular among my college-age friends.
I don’t have the block so I can’t watch it.
I wish they would air older show on Nick and other stations so the new generation cna see it. It happened to us, I remember Nick airing The Wonder Years and Brady Bunch (or Nick@Nite) and I like them. Just because these kids are growing up in a diffrent era dosn’r mean their hate other generations stuff. Kid’s today like The Beatles right? But Nick and other stations don’t really see this. They think if it’s from a diffrent generation, they will hate it no matter what.
I’m just glad that Cartoon Network is playing Looney Tunes again.
Same. Even though the animation on that show looks horrible.
My current favorite show is still Phineas and Ferb.
I’m referring to the originals.
Am I the only one here who remembers Catscratch and The X’s? Those were great shows! Too bad Nickelodeon cancelled them very quickly…
I remember those. It was unfortunate that they had to cancel those programs since they had some potential.
Do they still air Tom and Jerry?
I believe I’ve seen Tom & Jerry on Cartoon Network recently. Pretty cool!
It’s probably my favorite 40’s cartoon.
