Anyone ever done this?

Or thought

about it? I’ve been wanting to just sit down and watch all the Pixar movies in one sitting (yes, i know that

would take a long time) but I’ve never had the time to do it. The most i’ve watched at once is 3. One night I

watched Toy Story 2, Monsters Inc, and Finding Nemo. But I was just wondering if anyone else had done that?

It’s something I’d not be adverse to do, but I can

never find the time. Maybe during Christmas…

Hmm. Interesting.

Well…I would love to do it,

but like RMS stated, I don’t usually have the time to view all of the Pixar films in one sitting. My record, I

believe, is two – I watched Toy Story and Toy Story 2

in one day.

But yeah, it would take a while. I just might do it once

Ratatouille comes out on dvd…

I hate, and I mean,

hate, watching one film, then immediately watching another. I feel like I haven’t

really considered the first film, or given time for it to sink in, even if it’s just a Pixar film that I’ve

seen quite a few times before. So, no. But that would be quite a feat- it would take about 12 hours, so

pretty much an entire waking day.

lizardgirl - Haha – yeah, I see what you mean there.

It’s “healthier” for your brain to take a break after watching one film, and let the context of it

“sink in”. Too many films equals an overload of information.

However, people will do it when

they are obsessed with a certain film or series of productions. For example, next year the

Celebration IV will be held, which will be the largest gathering of

Star Wars fans in the history of the universe…right here in Los Angeles,

California. During that time, all six Star Wars movies will be shown, in order, to

the public. And will I go? Of course I will! You do what you love… :stuck_out_tongue:

By “in order”, do you mean chronological order, or numerical

order?

RMS - Oh, I mean numerical order. They’re gonna go from I-VI in

one day (or a series of days). It’s gonna be a blast!

It certainly sounds so. My preferred viewing order,

however, is IV-VI then I-III. It adds more oomph to “I am your Father.” Know what I’m saying?

RMS - I definitely agree. I

also wish that they would play it in that particular order, but I guess not. That’s Lucas for ya’…

:unamused:

I haven’t done that, but I have had watched The

Incredibles for the entire day. Would that count?

No. That’s not watching

all the Pixar films in order. That’s watching the same film repeatedly. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’d love to do either in

one sitting, but I have a job, among other things. Besides, my mother would never tolerate me being

that lazy. :unamused:

~~=oP

I really, really, really, really (okay I think

you get the point) wish that I could go to Celebration IV, being the Star Wars freak

that I am. Unfortunately, I might not be able to because my family is planning to spend the vacation somewhere

else. In the event that I can go, I will leap much higher than the jackalope in

Boundin’ leapt! If I can’t go, then I guess I’ll just hold a Star

Wars marathon on my own at some time. It’s really too bad, since I’ve never gone to any

Celebrations before.

Anyway, going back to the topic, a Pixar marathon would

be a pretty cool idea too. As lizardgirl said, it’d probably be a good idea to let the movie that you just

watched sink in; however, I think I’ve seen the Pixar movies enough times that each film would sink in just as

easily during a marathon as they would if I watched them in “normal” intervals.

Well PV, all that is required is you, a TV,

electricity, the DVD, and the whole house to yourself for a long time. It would help if you finished all of the

stuff you have to do. And I perfer an off day as well.

CountSolo - Oh man, I really hope that you will be able to make it, as well. That

wouldn’t be fair if you couldn’t get a pass to the place (you have to buy a badge to get into the thing, and

each adult badge costs about $100, I think…). But yeah – it’s gonna be awesome. Every

single actor from every Star Wars film is going to attend. I am

determined to acquire Mr. Speilburg’s autograph.

Back On-Topic: I also

agree in that it would be wonderful (and a lot of fun) to watch each Pixar film in succession for a day. Although

the day would be long, the hours would be worth it. Like I stated before, I plan to watch all of the Pixar films

in order once Ratatouille comes out on dvd…

Someone whip out a calculator. If you watched all of the

movies, not counting putting the disc in, bathroom breaks, loading screens, menus, and all of that stuff, how

long would it take to watch each movie?

I took your bet, The Star Swordsman, and here are my

results:

81 min. - Toy Story
96 min. - A

Bug’s Life
85 min. - Toy Story 2
92 min. -

Monsters Inc.
100 min. - Finding Nemo
115 min. -

The Incredibles
114 min. - Cars

The

Incredibles tops the list as the longest Pixar film ever made.

In total, it would take

approxiamately 683 min. to watch each Pixar film in succession.

It would

take up a bit of your day, wouldn’t it? :stuck_out_tongue:

Believe it or not, that is

11.38 hours! Almost a twelve hours if you include the rest of the stuff.

The Star Swordsman - Great balls of fire. That’s still not as long as all of the

Star Wars films put together, but it is quite a long time. What a way to spend your

day, huh? It’s almost as long as the Superbowl, except that Pixar is more fun than football, in my opinion.

Now here is a harder one. If you add

everthing in each dvd! That means everything, behind the scenes, deleted scenes,

shorts, etc.

The Star

Swordsman - I’m starting to wonder if you’re trying to make my brain explode with all of these

math questions… :stuck_out_tongue:

Well, I estimate that it would be at least 8-10 hours longer, if even. This is

mainly due to the excessive number of bonus features contained within the second disc of the

Monters Inc. dvd. A Bug’s Life, both Toy

Story films, and The Incredibles also have quite a few special

features.

So yes – 12-15 hours tops; maybe a little less if you don’t include the easter eggs.
