Anyone Got Summer Plans?

Going

anywhere interesting this summer? I haven’t really been on a major family trip in three or four years.

Although, I guess there’s a possiblity of me going to France for this student exchange thing. But it

costs about $3000 Canadian, and it would take up my whole summer. I would spend a month there with a family, and

then the kid would come and live with my family for the next month. It would be so cool. I’ve never been to

Europe, or out of North America. But again, there’s the money issue, and the fact that I don’t think I know

enough French to get by, but I could study harder, I suppose.

Or Maybe I could take Phys. Ed/CALM

(Career and Life Management) Summer School, you know, get 6 credits befor I even start highschool. I dunno.

See. I have a few interesting possiblities, but no plans yet.

Alright, so two questions for

you.

  1. Any plans for you this summer? Anything you’re excited for this summer?
20 What would you do if

you were me? ^^;;

Sammeh - Good luck with that! I hope you do get the chance to go to France some

day, even if it might not be this summer.

Well, in answer to your questions:

1. Every summer it’s the same thing: My grandma lives with my aunt and

uncle, the latter of whom always go to Denmark for their summer vacation. Unfortunately, it just so happens that

my mom is always the only one available to watch my grandma during that course of around…ohh…two months. Even

more unfortunate is the fact that I end up getting stuck watching my two sisters for the whole summer, one of

whom is mentally delayed and drives me nuts because she has no school for a couple weeks out of those two months

(June and July). Even worse is the fact that my dad goes to the International San

Diego ComicCon every year for a week, and it just so happens that it is right around the time when my mom is

gone. It’s all one, big, happy family of…nobody. The only people left around the house in the middle of July

are me and my sisters.

See, this is one reason why I am really looking forward to seeing

Ratatouille this year – I’ll have something to keep my mind off the pain. Thank

goodness for Pixar and their wonderful timing of releasing their features in the

summer! Hallelujah! This is what I did when Cars came out, too: I went and saw it

every week over a period of two months – June and July. This is also why I am almost, officially broke now. Heh.

:stuck_out_tongue:

Summers used to be fun: swimming pools, vacations, going to my aunt’s house for a week… The word

“work” has replaced all those activities in the last couple of years.

:unamused:

2. If I were you…I would take a vacation. But I really hate to tell

people how to live their lives, sooo…you do what you choose.

I have summer plans with Dash

that are partially intended for business. I won’t go into any details in case they fall through, but let’s

just say…we hope to get our kicks.

~~=oP

PixarVixen : I want to go !Just kidding , when business is in the

sentence , it means work . Work and me aren’t big friends . So that hint basically means you get to go

on a road trip on the mother road ? I wish I could have a summer that great .

My summer will probably

just be spent in front of my lovely laptop screen with Pixar Planet on my screen 24/7 . But if I’m lucky , the

school I want to get into has a boat so they take their new students on it before the school year starts for a

week . Bad news : To shower , you jump in the freezing water . Brrr !

:shake:

Well, I think it is kinda early for a summer pan planout. BUt I am hoping to get a job at

Pixar for the entire summer.

You peoples have

summer plans already? Oy …

I’d like to go to Disney, but most likely

it’ll be the regular trip to Hershey Park. I’d much rather go to Busch Gardens though, as I haven’t been there

in what feels like forever. =P

The Star Swordsman- Oh wow, I would loveeeee to get a job at Pixar for the summer.

You are so lucky.

Although I have no idea how this is actually gonna pan out…
Basically I will

probably have summer school clogging up my whole summer… I have too many classes I want to take (and clearly

some that I don’t want to take…) to fit into my school year so it overspills into my summers. It is not very

fun but at least I’ll be… busy.

From there it is band camp for me! Hahah. Pain is in my path for this

summer…

And also, I am hoping to get into a summer arts program… but I’m not sure if this will work

out.

Other than that, there are a monster

of movies that I am dying to watch. My summer is gonna be packed.

Ummm, what type of job is it that you think you’re

going to get?

~~=oP

I don’t know. Something that a normal high schooler would get as a job.

Normally, high schoolers wouldn’t get jobs at Pixar. :stuck_out_tongue:

~~=oP

I’m planning on

going to Califorina  .or watch Cars :sunglasses: .

The Star Swordsman - Sounds

like a fun summer job, working there. I wish I could get a mid-term/temporary job at Pixar Animation Studios,

though I have to agree with PixarVixen here in that the studio does not

currently/normally accept any high schoolers for work. Sounds like you’re an exception, though. I wonder what

they would have you do? Well, if you do go, have a great time!

And don’t they usually just hire college kids for

part-time summer jobs like computer maintenance? If that were the ONLY requirement and animation and/or computers

actually interested me as a career, I’d be SO in! ;p

If things go right and

some people are willing to travel and spend the cash, I’ll be planning a trip to

Disneyland. I’m heading straight for the Monsters, Inc. ride at California Adventure.

Gosh, summer plans already!

 Well, I’m going to Florence in Italy in three weeks, for an art trip with the school. In July, I’m going

to Greece (with the school, again) to see all the major sights in Athens. At the end of August, I’m going to

Morocco with my mum (we’re having to leave America until next year, unfortunately, so this was our

alternative).

If I were you, I’d take the holiday. The summer is a break that, after working for the rest

of the year, you’ll have earned, so you might as well make the most out of it.

Other than

all the movies I will watch, I haven’t really got any summer plans yet. Although I would like to go up to Blue

Harbor Resort again! Maybe I’ll do that this summer.

PV: Well, I heard my father talk about it, and when I

asked him, he said it was a possibility. So It is still unsure for me. Liske most of my summer plans are.

Unsure.

lizardgirl:

?Jaja!, that was like what I was going to say too about what ya

said at the beginning of your post!
But Yes, 2007 has only started and a post

about the year’s summer plans has already been made :open_mouth:!

DD- I think it’s wishful

thinking, though summer does seem very far away, especially since we got our first bout of snow all winter today!

Definitely wishful thinking.

Another goal for me is to go to

Disneyland. I must go to “The Happiest Place On Earth” durring the summer.
