One thing I like to do whenever a new Pixar movie comes out is pretend there real people, and in Toy Story 1 & 2 they were real toys. And I would pretend that they were real, and I would pay attention to their ‘acting’ And I must say, if Woody,Buzz, and the rest of the gang were real… Then man, they have amazing acting!
After seeing this trailer, I can say that the first half makes me very impressed indeed. It seems as though Pixar really are starting to master the craft of leaving an emotional impact with all of their movies. The nostalgia factor was very high throughout the whole trailer and it works on so many levels. But I definitely prefer the first part of the trailer to the second part, although overall i can’t really fault it.
But yes, i have nothing but praise for this trailer!
I totally agree Mark-E, I prefer Pixar’s appeal to emotion over comedy, which is why I think Up is such a powerful film overall, the heart is just so strong in it. Also, my favorite moments are the emotive ones, like Ego’s speech, the ending to Monsters, Inc. and Dory’s plea for Marlin to say in Finding Nemo.
That being said, I think the first half of the trailer is better as well, it’s kind of shocking, and I can’t wait to see that theme in the film.
It’s amazing, almost weird, seeing how much more advanced the technology is now. With all the new rendering and such. Just… woah.
This is gonna be hilarious.
This looks like yet another film that I’m wondering how the heck Pixar is gonna pull off. The difference between this and back when I was head tilting at Nemo (and even a little bit at WALL-E) is that I’ve learned to fully trust these guys.
4. If my over-analyzing-of-poses-in-trailers skills aren’t failing me, I think BuzzJessie is totally reconciled canon for the next movie. YES. YESYESYESYES.SHIPPER FISTPUMP
As for easter eggs in the trailer, I found that when Buzz shoots up and hangs onto the overhanging rope there is a picture of a clown fish in the background.
Ok, if anyone was genuinely worried about Pixar doing sequels, this would be a good time to stop. W-O-W! This thing oozes heart from every one of its 1920x1080 pixels!
And while I’m with Mark-E and ffdude on the emotional parts being superior to the comedy, with comedy this good, I won’t even dream about complaining.
I just hope that there won’t be another trailer revealing additional scenes (and certainly I don’t want another plot summary in disguise like that Japanese trailer for Up).
I don’t remember if it was in this thread or another thread.
(And I’m too lazy to look ^_^; …)
I remember someone asked for the soundtrack in the trailer… now the first one with the clips of Andy growing up should be “Losing you by Randy Newman”.
The other one where the toys are in the daycare is “The Hoosiers - Goodbye Mr.A”
Here’s the song. I think it’s a good choice considering the movie.
it seems this movie is gonna be sad at the beginning.but it will be awesome
and the animation is great !
it seems like everithing about this movie is gonna be awesome…except the spanish buzz lightyear, thats a rippof from shrek 2 and 3 buzz is my favorite pixar character,PLEASE PIXAR, DONT RUIN HIM!
what could happend to wheezy, the army men and rc? i liked them
and he looks angry, maybe he became evil or something like that
Andy’s 18 now. He likely got rid of them as time went on or gave them to Molly or something. It’s improbable enough for him to still have toys like Mr. & Mrs. Potato Head, Rex and Slinky Dog. I’m 18 and while I still have toys on display that I collect, I’m not sure I have any toys from when I was younger. These toys are probably long gone. Especially since they aren’t major characters like the one’s he still has. Imagine if the film makers left all the toys in tact, it would be a hard adventure to keep going with so many characters.
Oh, thank you, KarmaWolf, I’ve always been wondering what that second song is! Btw, it really is a good choice!
Yeah, I figured that out as well, while watching the double feature, for some reason. If those characters (plus, Bo Peep) weren’t shown at all during the trailer, then I’m 50% sure that they probably won’t end up in the film. Then again, it’s just one trailer, I need a few more ads to convince me that I’m 100% sure.
EDIT: Wait a minute! Look who I found in a random frame of the trailer!.. (sorry for the bad quality of this photo, it got edited a few times…)
Well, maybe some of those characters might stay along for the ride after all…
Whoops ! I didn’t invert the image and have a good look at it! Yeah, you’re right about that! But thanks to Rex being beside the VHS tape, it really looke like R.C., but the hockey puck guy is definitely a skateboard wheel. Sorry for this mistake, hope next time I have a better look …
I’m guessing that he got damaged badly enough somehow that it caused his system to get a bit screwy. That’s usually the point of restarts, like if a sound won’t stop repeating or stuff like that.

Anyways… WHAT?! RC?! GONE?! NO. THEY CAN NOT DO THAT.
Well, today I was lurking on a Cars forum outside of Pixar Planet and I saw somebody say, [spoil]“Snot Rod is in TS3! He’s the picture on the calendar in Andy’s room.”[/spoil]
And I didn’t know there was a new trailer, so naturally, I went and watched the trailer…
First of all - I am so happy to have watched this! I’m excited and Andy looks great.
Second - [spoil]I could make out something Snot Rod-ish on the calendar[/spoil], but I’m not entirely sure if that’s him… I could be wrong… but that would still be pretty awesome.
