I know I am, I really actually likeCars! only 758 days! XD

Do you even have to ask me!? Yes! I’ve been excited since last summer when I first heard about it! I’m gonna have to remember that number woody. I’m gonna try to countdown with you. But I know I’ll forget the number sometime. I’m like that. But I’ll do my best!

Cars 2 is gonna be great! I don’t care what people say about it being only for the money for Pixar never creates movies for the money. It’s the truth! Hopefully we won’t see the “Why Cars 2 is a bad idea” debates on here. We’ve got enough forums for that.

“Cars” was a fine film, which I enjoyed immensly upon first-viewing, but to be frank, it hasn’t drawn me at all to further watchings. The story, the entire plot, and even the characters don’t grab me like any of the other Pixar films. Maybe it’s because I’m not into cars and therefore don’t see the magic of anthropomorphic vehicles.

So a sequel? Nah… the entire idea sounds like a way to sell more “Cars” merchendise. Even the plot vibes like a Dreamworks sequel (something about the original cast finding its way to Tokyo). Gotta love Pixar, and I don’t mean to “judge a book by its cover”, but I’m not looking forward to this one.

hey, nice to see you back Gasdude…trust me you won’t know who i am but i have heard a lot about you in the past year i’ve been here.

BOT-I think that Cars 2 is done purely to keep the mercandise rolling and money flowing, its not about the characters or the storyline although some may argue that Cars (original) was “purdy good”.

I will wait patiently and see waht Cars 2 previews look like…if Pixar can work Cars 2 into a great movie they will become the greatest movie company in history. This sequel has less fanbase then Toy Story and even less fan-base then Monsters Inc.

It will definitely be a struggle for Pixar but they could pull it off…

I’m not excited for it, but I’m also not a big fan of sequels, no matter where they come from.

I’m also weary about TS3.

I did like Cars though

No, not really. I’d like to see a new movie with new characters, which is why I like Pixar. They always introduce something new. So sequels don’t hold much interest to me. It’s not that I think it’ll be bad, just that’d I’d rather see something entirely fresh and original.

Plus, they’ve sort of turned Cars into a cash cow. I don’t like seeing that

I think Cars is a great movie. I’m a little anxious about the sequel, but I trust in Pixar…

All these negative posts are making me upset.

The only thing I’m worried about for the sequel is about half of the Pixar fanbase aren’t super-duper Cars lovers, and about half of the Cars lovers say a sequel isn’t needed. So about 1/8 of the Pixar fanbase seems to be looking forward to it.

I’ve got myself a plan already for when it comes out. I don’t wanna spoil it yet in case someone takes my plan. But it’s got “Absolutely dedicated Cars fan” written all over it!

LightningAndDoc- I guess it looks kind of just you and me on this one huh? oh well, and as the sequel approaches I hope you tell me about this plan of yours, maybe I could help?
Castoro Chiaro- I don’t think the whole cash cow thing was Pixar’s decision to make. Disney is the head of merchandising and stuff. But, I do agree, Cars has gotten a little out of hand 8D
thewisecookiesheet- I think Pixar can handle this, I never doubted them, and hopefully I never will
Al-Bob- like I said earlier, I don’t think Pixar has that decision for all the merchandise and stuff, they just want to make a movie they think deserves to be made
Gasduude- Welcome back! <img src=“{SMILIES_PATH}/grinandwink.gif” alt=“;-D” title="Grin and

Wink" /> like Al-Bob said, I wasn’t here when you were before, but your presence was always felt on the boards.

No, not really. I mean, I’m definitely curious about it- I’m interested in how they deal with the character of Doc Hudson, and I’m wondering about how arrogant they’re going to make Lightning, since I think it’s going to be quite difficult to achieve a balance of not having reverted to how he was at the beginning of the original, but at the same time not suddenly being this angel who can do no wrong.

Mreh, I’m sure it’ll be a decent film but it’s not something that I’d enjoy more than an original Pixar film.

I’m interested but not excited. Cars was a good film (my second favorite Pixar) but I don’t really know about a sequel. But I’m always ready to give Cars 2 a chance.

As I’ve mentioned before, Cars 2 was a great dream of mine after seeing the first ( I had this optimistic fantasy that I would be working at Pixar on it, but I’m not sure I’ll reach that level of experience and ‘awesomeness’ with my work before the release… we’ll see how this goes). So naturally, I’m very excited to return to the world of the film that inspired me to become an animation student in the first place. Plus, it’s going international! That means more cars from different countries!

I’m excited I can’t wait  !But they better have Sally in there or else i’m not going to see it :imp: .shhooo I dun wan Lightning wit som other chick!!! :imp:

LightningandDoc - Don’t be sad there are a hand full of people that like Cars we die hard fans are not as outnumbered as you say we are.You too woody! :sunglasses:
I love cars and that’s not going to change no matter what people say about it! :smiling_imp: :sunglasses:

I’m not very excited for the film…In fact, I’m only gonna see it because I know Pixar will make something decent out of it. :stuck_out_tongue: I just think it’s Disney’s way of milking whatever they can out of the Cars franchise…

With the Lightning part, I don’t think they’ll have trouble with toning down the arrogance. I mean, look at Buzz. They even compare Andy’s Buzz with a New Buzz in TS2 to show how he has changed.

I am also interested to see how they do deal with Doc.

(Haha, he went to Cadillac Ranch  :frowning: )

I think the only thing that could ruin this movie for me is that they don’t spend much time in Radiator Springs, gosh I love that town! I’m guessing they won’t because now it’s a global adventure, ah well we’ll have to wait and see

Well, it wasn’t the sequel that I had been hoping Pixar would do. But since Cars is my third favorite PIxar movie, Cars 2 has gotten me a little excited.

I think I know what sequel you want TSS! XD

I’m seeing a few more happy comments for the movie! Yay!

Hopefully they can replace Paul Newman. It’s gonna be hard since each Pixar character is a part of their voice actor, but this is Pixar we’re talking about! The studio that has put out 10 successful animated movies. I doubt they’d fail with their 12th (being that TS3 is their 11th).

Half of me is exited for this movie, the other half is a little scared. I had a hard time connecting to Cars. Ya, it was cool, looked nice, the story was fine, but I didn’t connect to Car’s quite like I do with most Pixar films. That doesin’t mean I’m not interested though, because I’ll still be keeping a close eye on this. (It is a Pixar film after all  )

It’s a little too early for me to be all excited about it. I’m eager for it, in any event. Definitely curious as well. But I’m still apprehensive about some things, which I’ve mentioned before, mainly the Doc situation…
