Are you excited for the sequel?

Okay…

Finally, someone who actually agrees with me.

My biggest fear involving Pixar is that it will go towards the sequel route; they already are approaching 3, with a 4th approaching.

Guys, believe it or not, Dreamorks has 3 sequels out right now, with a 4th and 5th approaching.

Both companies have 3 stories that are getting sequels.

Pixar and Dreamworks as of right now aren’ that different from each other.

Honestly, if Brave isn’t good, I will be pretty much done with Pixar, as it is the only movie of the 3 future ones announced that I’m even mildly looking forward to.

Whoa…even though you’re Shark Bait, you’re right. If MU and Brave aren’t good, I’m out. So long, Pixar…you had a friend in me.

Aw, I don’t think I could ever give up on these guys. Even if they did have a coupla flops (which they don’t) I’d stick behind them. I’ve been putting time into this fandom for years, and because of one of two mishaps I’d leave? Nah, not me. I know that they’re trying to be the absolute best storytellers they can be, and I trust them.

They are, they will still be. My main shtick here is (nothing related to Cars, really) what they’re going to do with Boo’s storyline since MU’s coming out. If they leave it hanging like a hangnail on a toe, then the first movie’s end seems worthless, the door back together and all. But if they finish it, they’ll have to make MI4, and in my view, that’s way too many films. Decisions…decisions…

What’s wrong with sequels?

I’m off the subject…geez. Sequels are ok, unless they’re poorly done.

xCarsLuvrx, I’d like to remind you to keep your tone down. SullyMike never said “Oh the movie’s gonna suck, cause I hate it,it’s all about merchindise…blah, blah, blah…”, no need to put words in others’ mouths. She was simply expressing what others, including myself, have already said - Cars happens to have the highest grossing merchandise over the other Pixar films, and with Pixar producing a sequel to a movie that’s already wildly popular, it appears as though Cars has simply turned into a cash-cow.

And when you’re walking through Wal-Mart and every boys t-shirt and bed set and lunchbox set has Lightning McQueen’s face on it, it’s not hard to see that it’s over-commercialization isn’t just something we’re saying because we ‘don’t like’ Cars or its sequel. It’s cold, hard fact that Cars sells a lot of merchandise!

There’s no need to use patronizing phrases such as “Several questions, m’kay?” The way it’s worded sounds quite rude. I’m just giving you a reminder to keep it toned down. We don’t want another thread locked up because things got out of hand.

little chef

I love Cars, and I can still see all the toys in the stores. We all love Pixar, or we wouldn’t be here. But that’s no reason to look at the world-or Pixar-through rose colored glasses.
I don’t mind the toys and graphic tee’s and lunch cases(I am not at liberty to hate these things, as I purchase them myself) so much, but if it annoys some people, I think it’s entirely understandable. When a movie gets on your nerves, seeing tons of merchandise everywhere you go every day is a little annoying. Believe me, I know this. When I was in my TS3 rant phase, I was very tormented by the amount of stuff featuring those characters in the Disney Store. I love the Disney Store, and look for things I like there all the time. So when something like HSM or Camp Rock is all over the place, I get a little irked.

Again-I like Cars-and buy much of this stuff myself-but when the first movie came out 5 years ago, and the plot is unrelated to the original, and now there’s even more merchandise than before—all I’m saying, like little-chef said, is that you should cool down a bit. Consider the other side’s logic before assaulting it.

Now, little-chef is a moderator. She is the one who you should listen to, as I have no authority over you. But as a friend who cares about your membership, I think you should try to be softer-slower to speak, and faster to listen. You’re a Witness, right? It’s in the Bible. If a moderator and a friend aren’t enough, consider the Lord’s thoughts on kindness.

I’m speaking in general,I did not mention his name anywhere on my post…and I’m sorry if it “sounds” rude but it’s kinda tiring and irrtating to here the same things especially if it dosen’t make sense… :frowning:

And there’s another reason why I’m replying like this, but I’d rather not say it on here…

IV: I’d rather you not mention my relgion on here…

xCarsLuverx: I understand how frustrating it is to hear the same points being said over and over again regarding Cars 2 being a sequel, or the amount of merchandising. It’s just that some members may have not read the earlier posts and think they’re expressing a new opinion, but being unaware that many people before them have already gone through what they’re saying.

What I usually do is give them the benefit of the doubt and ignore them, or try to push the conversation to more positive discussions.

Thank you. 8D I also feel somewhat guilty, don’t automatically pin the blame on her.
