Bad thing, none of my friends, as well as my family, really like Pixar. They, as many people do, like to wrongly generalize animations and cartoons as stupid, childish, and useless. In fact, they even think worse about these types of media.
Some of them are, but they’ve never been obsessed with any of them - they just like the films and have seen them. I guess Pixar is just like any other film out there to them.
My old tutor (oh she’d love to hear me refer to her like that! xD) had only seen Finding Nemo. I lent her a couple of my DVDs to watch, but being a teacher and all she hasn’t had time … but I can’t believe she’s never even seen Toy Story! That’s like … like never seeing Who Framed Roger Rabbit, or … or Wizard of OZ! I was both shocked and appalled! And I mean, I’m not even that Pixar obsessed but … c’mon already!
None of my friends are but some of them have seen the movies and stuff, as for my family they know I’ m a big pixar fan so they have seen the film and my brother likes their magic and makes the difference between Pixar and other Animation Studios ( Dreamworks… )
My friends are sort of Pixar fans. They wouldn’t know the upcoming movies (aside from Up maybe). One of my good friends is a huge Incredibles/Monster’s Inc. fan though.
A few of my friends like Pixar’s movies, but they’re not big fans in general. I do have a friend who is almost as big of a fan as I am. In fact, we’re both applying for Pixar’s undergraduate summer program this summer.
Nope, not at all. They’ll happily see the movies (I’ll drag them along to the cinema, at least…) and they do tend to enjoy them, but they don’t really differentiate between Pixar and other CGI or animated movies. I don’t mind, it’s not like I’m going to force it on them (aside from dragging them to the cinema- hey, I’ve got to see the films with someone! )
No, my friends aren’t Pixar fans, but I can talk to them about Pixar briefly (I’ve trained them to know what I’m talking about ). They can differentiate studios and such and seem to like Pixar above all other animation, but to them it’s just another movie. They enjoy the films generally and don’t mind seeing them in theatres, but I would not call them fans.
I’m the only Pixar fan I’ve ever met in real life, but I have met some big film fans who admire Pixar.
My basic definition of a fan is someone who is devoted to something, and enjoys it significantly more than others.
No; in fact they disliked it. They wouldn’t watch it agian. In fact, they are forced friends, and I moved an hour away from them since we saw it, so I’m glad I never see them, My older brother and I are huge fans. I really like having him be a huge Pixar/Mac fan, it just makes me glad, . I really have no friends under 30, but now that I’m making new, older friends here I’m making them watch it, haha.
My close friends like Pixar…my boyfriend, older-sister-type-friend, and I think one of my girl buddies (we talk about it sometimes and likes my Bug’s Life drawings). My boyfriend definately likes it. It was one of the first things that made us friends, since we met the year Finding Nemo came out and was my obsession. And Cars was the first movie we watched together…I thiiiink O_o . And we both love Wall-E and he sort of agrees that we’re like Wall-E and Eve. And he’s helping me with my Bug’s Life fan fiction a little bit (So’s my brother).
None of them are. Well, not as much as I am. My friends think Pixar movies are funny but they’d never give them a second thought or go out of their way to see them. I had to practically drag my friends to the theater to see Up and Toy Story. Us PIxar fans are all a little misunderstood in our obsessions as I’ve witnessed.
And as bad as this sounds…I have to hide my pixar obsession from everyone. They all know I’m obsesed with it, but they don’t know how obsessed…they don’t know about the fanfiction or deviantart stuff…
Last time anyone found out about that part of my life i got laughed at…
From what I could tell my friend that I went to see Toy Story 3 with was obviously a fan of the films and knew the characters pretty well. I’ve also watched Up with him on DVD and I’ve seen that he owned Cars, but I’m not sure how much of a fan he is of all of Pixar’s films (like most people I would doubt if he still remembers A Bug’s Life or not).
I can’t believe they laughed at you for liking Pixar, HelloDolly114! They should learn to respect your opinions.
But yeah, my friends are just like yours… I had to pratically beg for one of them to see WALL.E with me, and they turned their noses away when they heard about Up.
However, they all wanna see Toy Story 3 (and who wouldn’t?) because this movie franchise is so popular.
They also know I’m obsessed with Pixar, but they don’t know that I’m a member here. Sometimes I think they’re on another planet (while I’m on this one).
