I love Scarlett too! She’s such a facinating character, and is very complex. I like the development of her as she goes threw the book, and her drive to be successful and survive.
That’s a relief to hear, I can see her starting to change and I’m glad she continues to. I would love to discuss some other characters (Ashley) right now but I don’t think this thread is the place. Question though…when does the war end? It feels like it’s been going on forever.
The war ends in 1865. Don’t worry, it’s not the whole book. Most of the book takes place after it, during Reconstruction.
Hahaha…you could tell that it doesn’t thrill me? Well, I think I’m nearing the end of the war so thanks for letting me know!
I would loe to meet Jennifer Aniston mostly because she is very hot.
I would love to travel the world one day too.
But I want to make it into the NASCAR Sprint Cup series
I really like Jennifer Aniston! She’s a great actress! It would be quite awesome to see a NASCAR race as well, I would totally go to one if I had the oppurtunity.
Seeing a NASCAR race in person is quite amazing. There is nothing like hearing 43 engines taht sound like jet engine start and watching 43 of gthe best race side by side for 400 or 500 miles.
I agree, that sounds amazing! <3 How many have you been to?
I have been to five Cup races and one Nationwide race (NASCAR’s verison of college bssketball)
All have been amazing. Just wish I went to one when my driver won or lead a race.
I also race from time to time (right now I am trying to set everything up so I can race full time next year) at the local short track and I go watch races there too.
I can see why John made cars there is something about racing that can be expressed through a movie.
Seriously?! I can’t tell you how awesome that is!!! Man, I could ask you like a million and one questions, you seem to know your stuff so well! Cars must really be a meaningful movie to you I bet.
I love the fact cars was made and was very happy to see a quality movie about racing (a nascar jounarlist calls it the best racing movie ever) Sure there was Talladega nights, Days of Thunder, and others but cars had heart and the racing scenes really impressed me.
Plus Dale Earnhardt Jr was in the first one that was really cool!
Yeah, it’s too bad we didn’t see Dale in the second film as well! I personally had no interest in automobiles before I saw Cars but now I find them a lot more interesting and I practically drool over Porsche ads on TV.
At least (even though I am not a fan of his) Jeff Gordon was in the 2nd (Jeff Gorvette)
I think cars got a lot of more people interested in cars. It was animated so beautifully. And btw the go right to turn left statement by Doc Hudson is actually true on dirt racing many vetrans have told me that .
Oh yeah, Jeff was sweet too! And I love the names they give the racing announcers, they change it up to cars-ify it. I didn’t understand that right-to-go-left thing the first time I saw it but it made total sense afterwards. That’s neat to hear that it’s actually true in racing!
Yeah like for example Darrell Cartrip is NASCAR commentator and 3 time champion Darrell Waltrip.
John has done a good job of getting real racing aspects into the movie.
That’s exactly the one I was thinking of! Hey, why don’t you chill much over on the Cars threads? I haven’t seen you there much and I think we are getting beyond off-topic here! XD
Woah I haven’t notice that your right lol. I haven’t seen cars 2 yet and that seems to be the hot topic lately and I want to see it to have more of an opinion on it.
Ohhh, good idea. I’m not going to lie, I would steer clear of there until you get to see it first. People use spoiler tags but sometimes they forget or the conversation gets a bit suggestive and you’ll figure it out. Best you see it first, then come join us over there!
Yeah I saw a thread named spoilers I prefer to be surprised when enetering a movie. I know the critics panned it but I am sure it is better the what they give it credit for.
Yeah, part of it was spoiled for me in the weeks leading up since I couldn’t resist reading some of the spoilers. You’re right, the surprise is the best and yes, I think the critics have been to harsh on it. I think you’ll really enjoy it though!
