Back To School

Well guys, summer is almost over. To all of those who are going back to school, are you excited? Are

you scared, angry annoyed? Please share your comments, questions, concerns.

I hate school, so

much. I’m always nervous about going back. I never know what homeroom I’m going to be in, or if any of my

friends will be in the same class as me. My mum is working at my school when we start again. >_< Joy.

xD

Sigh… It is a sad thing… a

sad thing indeed. I still have about half my summer assignments to do… but that’s okay. I’m not too worried

about that. But school? That means getting up early and coming home tired and forcing myself through piles of

homework. Plus this means another constant stream of stress… Ahh.

So school? Yeah. Totally excited.

:unamused:

I have 2 weeks of band camp before it too. Hah. So… basically my summer is over already.

I’m not going back

to school this semester. I have 4 years of college behind me, and it hasn’t helped me all that much. I’m

taking time off to work on a portfolio I can submit to Pixar…and maybe a better art

school.

~~=oP

Eh… The only thingI’m looking forward to is

seeing my group. Everyone is scattered all over the city, so I haven’t seen them at all. x.x

And the

soonerschool comes, the sooner the next anime convention comes.

I’m entering University life THIS FRIDAY. I don’t know

of really anyone from my high school that’s going with me, and I have a roomate from another state than I’m

from (and the college is outside my state in California) . . . so life’s going to be pretty different pretty

soon.

I

just got back to school (which required a red-eye flight and a three-hour layover in Atlanta… urgh), and

classes start on Wednesday…

Luckily this should be my last full year of school (yay!). I am so tired of

having to pack my life up, having half my stuff on the other coast (I’m from California, but I go to school in

Virginia), and all the stupid travelling. I am so ready to be done with it all. At least my roommates seem nice,

but I just moved in yesterday, so it still remains to be seen how well we’ll get along.

Awww,

good luck in uni, Phoenician! Which one are you going to?

I kinda miss school. I had five years of high

school, went straight into university for two years, decided to travel for the summer and, er, never went back!

XD I work full-time now, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything, although I do wish I’d stayed to get my full

degree. Not that you can actually use an English Lit. degree in life – like, at all – but it’s fun to have

one!!

I

go back at the end of September and I can’t wait XD My school is kind of open. There’s hardly any structure

beyond the occasional lecture and we get a lot of free-for-all ‘studio time’ which is unsupervised. Sometimes

you feel completely out of your depth and in depserate need of someone to ask questions to, but most of the time

I really enjoy the atmosphere. I was in the studio from 9am-9pm mon-fri last semester and 12-5 on a Saturday and

I didn’t get tired of that gruelling schedule at all.

I’m excited for this year cos the third year

group is sort of under the wing of a representative from Dreamworks. She doesn’t teach or anything, but she does

come by to show us new student films coming in from schools they cover in the US and to look at our stuff, so

that’s something, and also Michael Dudok DeWit (Monk and Fish, Father and Daughter) is going to be doing guest

lectures this year, which is amazing. He did one all-day lecture last year and showed us his films and ads, and

talked about techniques and the best way to approach learning, and it was really insightful. So I’m hoping I’ll

gain a lot this year. Got another group project to do before Xmas, and then after that we start working on our

final project, which we get a year and a half to do. Can’t wait for that one  Mell was helping me write it the

other day, actually!

Woohoo! School! Anything to get me away

from my two jobs. I’ve had it with them! :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m going into second year university, and since my

school’s outside of the city, I get to move out again. I’m moving in with two very nice girls, and I get to see

my colleagues again. Plus I’m exctied to see how my courses will turn out, hehe.

School starts on Sept.

11 for us (after orientation week). Can’t wait!

I’m very sad to go to school, as this is my last year of

maniditory school. Two more terms and that’s it- no more school uniform, which will be just so weird, as well as

having all of my GCSE results. shudders And this year is going to be horrible mainly because all we are doing

is either preparing for the exams or doing the exams themselves.

I’m usually a real school lover, but the

combination of the exams and the uncertainty of where I’m going for sixth form has me worried.

I’m going to Loyola Marymount University, in Los Angeles. So I’ll be closer to

PIXAR (as opposed to living in Arizona) . . . but it’s going to be SO much colder . . . and Pheon likes the

heat!!

And hey, Greg Weisman of Gargoyles has an English degree . . . and he does Screenwriting for Disney

shows now!

Am I the only one actually a

little excited about going back to school?

I’m excited I guess . . . but I don’t know . . . I knew when I got my diploma from HS

that it wasn’t over . . . I see it as a continuation, because in reality it is. So I’m pretty fine about

it.

The good news is, I’m now really close to San Diego from the Comic Con, and if the Gathering is ever

on the West Coast again (Like it has been in LA twice, and Las Vegas – not West Coast, but definitely NOT East

Coast – then I’ll definitely be able to attend!)

No! I’ve been bouncing off the walls for a few days now about going back to

school! I’m so madly excited for next semester. It’s probably going to kill me, but I have lots of reasons to

be excited. For one, my course load rocks my socks. I’ll be busy as hell, but it’ll be amazing. Private

reading computer animation project, Computer Graphics, Modern Dance, Intro to Musics of the World, Viola lessons,

ViBE Dance Company (tap dance), and possibly Swing Dance. 'Tis my senior year, and I intend to rock the

freaking house. Plus, I just can’t wait to see everyone again. One more week!

I can not wait to get back. There is so much that I have to do before I complete my High

School Education.

Oh, high school. Completing high school is the easy part.

I’ve got a lot to do before I can finish

college. Actually, that’s not true in the strictest sense of the word, since I only need 15 credit hours to

graduate, spread out over two semesters. It’s why I can afford to take all these dance classes (though I can

write it off as being towards animation- LucasArts prefers that their animators have dance experience, and I’m

more than happy to oblige). But I have to start applying to grad schools, make a demo reel, build up my online

portfolio site… I have to get myself good and ready for the real world, basically. And I’m not sure if I want

to go to grad school for graphics, or for a teaching certificate, or if I just want to go out and get a

job.

Fun times, I’m telling you. I still can’t wait to get back, for I am living off campus this year,

and my house awaits me. With a porch swing!

I’m going into my senior year in two weeks. I’m looking

forward to it, but knowing my school I’ll go through the first day and I’ll want out. I’m really looking

forward to college- I need to get this stuff over with =p

Ahh, see, knowing

my school I’m not going to want to leave after graduation. I have the world’s

most awesome advisor, and an amazing bunch of friends, so I want to maximize my time with them as much as

possible (while somehow still managing to get lots of work done on animating things…). At least graduation

will be fun. We’re not required to wear caps and gowns, so I need to start pulling together plans for my Super

Awesome Graduation Costume of d00m.

You

make costumes? I do.

I miss my friends. I hope I’m at least in a class with on of them this year.

I’m going to try and concentrate harder on school this year, and not goof off too much. ^_^;;;
