Marching band! Bandos unite! What do you play?
Oh and that’s good advice
btw, Phoenician.
Thanks.

I like to think of myself as a ‘good student’.
I do try to do extra-curricular
activities, such as taking an extra music GCSE, playing netball or squash, and those kinds of things.
Yeah, I’m not quite
sure how it works with the non-honors classes, but I was in the “advanced math” classes all through
middle school and in upper school it’s Honors Geometry in freshman year, Honors Precal in sophomore, Honors
Calculus in junior, and I don’t really know if there’s going to be a required math course for me in my senior
year.
Most of the kids in my class period are a grade above me, though; personally, I find it all rather
confusing.
I get good grades, my GPA is slightly above 4.0; I take the Honors class for any course that
offers one, although I sure as heck didn’t want to do so for history until I found out that doing well on AP
exams later on can get me out of taking history in college… ![]()
I don’t really do any
extracurricular activities aside from the required after-school activity, which for me is theatre.
I went to
the first audition ession for our school’s fall production of The Glass Menagerie
this afternoon, even though I know I won’t get a part because the lady who’s directing it is so predictable
that Laura is the only role that I can think of as being “up in the air,” and I don’t happen to be
female so that doesn’t really help me any. I don’t much care for her directing style, anyways, though, and the
kids who don’t get cast get to take the after-school acting workshop with the director that I
do like, which, seeing as I did it two-thirds of the year last year (the other third
of which was spent being in a play directed by the director I like), I know to be great fun.
Ahh I see. At my school it goes Honors Geometry, Honors Algebra II, Pre-Calc (I don’t know if
it’s still called honors…), AP Calculus.
My
high school went like this:
For a normal student:
Geometry (possible Honors)
Algebra I (possible
Honors)
Algebra II/Trigonemtry (possible Honors)
College Algebra / Brief Calculus (possible Dual
Credit)
Thing is, if you tested out of any of them, then you could go into one of these bad
boys:
Calculus A/B (possible Dual Credit / AP)
Calculus B/C (possible Dual Credit / AP)
Differential
Equations (possible Dual Credit / AP)
Ahhh omg I really dislike school at the
moment. It was the first day for me today and I’m already stressed out. I didn’t get into the art class I need
to in order to get into a certain class my senior year and I totally hate Mr. Arnold (CA governor) for making
limited class sizes because this is ridiculous. I can’t get into this BASIC class because it’s filled with all
these stupid freshmen and god knows what who aren’t smart enough to take a different class to get their freaking
art credit! AND. I’m a small person! I can work in like a square foot of space on the GROUND. Don’t tell me
it’s fulllllllll… UGghhhhh. School is poopy. And there are too many people at my school. Maybe I should just
move. ![]()
Here’s some maths, (though technically it isn’t…but you get the idea, heh)- 2 school days.
Nine homeworks. Grr.
My bad, I kinda fell off here I forgot I posted.
But to answer your question,
my main instrument( or where they need me the most) is the trumpet. I also play the drums (doesn’t really matter
which one but I prefer snare) whenever they need me there. Outside of band I’ve been playing piano for over 10
years( since I was 4) since we’re on the subject. ![]()
Cool, I
play marimba and I just got back from our first half-time show… it was pretty bad. The timing and stuff was
wayyy off. Meh. And we only had like less than half of our show down so far! ![]()
The
only half-time show I’m lookin forward to is Thanksgiving!
I understand having a bad show too I’m a
veteran on the band and we lost a whole lot of people last year. Sad to say we’re stuck with a whole bunch of
kids (freshmen and youger) who can’t play or march 90 degrees! Thanksgiving’s gonna kill em!
The last of
our best are on their way out after this year. ![]()
So, first week of classes is done, and I would just like to say, now that I’ve acquired steady internet
once more, that my semester rocketh muchly. I get to sit around, make pretty graphical things, draw pictures,
animate stuff, and watch episodes of Buffy and Angel. Sounds like a good time to me. ![]()
Well I’ve been at my local
Community College (whoo) since Aug 28 which is my 3rd year of college! It’s okay so far. I’ve got Comparative
Religion, World History since 1945, Psychology of Gender, And Intro to Criminal Justice. I have my first quizzes
and tests in the next couple weeks so I guess I’ll have a better idea then how I like the class
Right
now they’re pretty interesting…
Hey
everyone, how is everyone surviving, I mean, getting through school right now?
I’ve already got to start preparing for two exams I’ve got next week. They’re
not official exams, just created by the teachers to see if we’re on track. If we’re not, letters get sent home
to our parents. Yay.
And there’s plenty of coursework being piled onto us too- geography, english,
maths…
Apart from that, everything’s going fine.
