Back To School

Ditto! High five!

Tomorrow I finally start school… I’m actually more or

less indifferent about it. I quite honestly don’t have any friends at school (which explains why I spend my

entire life online here ), but it’s not like any of my classmates hate me or anything, I just don’t

ā€œhang out.ā€ I just go to school for the learning, really… I’m looking forward most to seeing my

theatre teacher again.

Durring my Freshman year in High School, I have been

hanging out with the wrong people. Not people like drug addicts, but people who don’t care about school or their

future. As the year progressed, I became friends with people who actually cares, not just about their carrer and

life, but their friends also. Now, I am really happy to be back at school. What I am really excited about is the

school plays, musicals, choir concerts, and other stuff.

I’ll agree with JamieLew. Middle

school is the worst of all the grades because everyone thinks they’re ā€œall that.ā€ High school is the

best, so far.

I’m a senior in high school and I couldn’t love it any more! I’ve been at school for 3

weeks now, and so far it’s a smooth ride. Nice classes, fun teachers, and lots of hanging out with friends!

Huzzahh! Lol. This summer has been pretty bleh with my assignments looming over

my head the whole time… and most of the time I was either at summer school or band camp. Urg. I don’t know,

once I get them all done with I might actually be glad school is starting up. I really do love my friends…

I love the fact that I have a variety… some care about school and grades a lot and some care more about having

fun. They’re all great too, and they care about friendship… which is the most important part in the long

run.

I’m off

to start my senior year of high school in exactly thirty minutes. At least first days aren’t so bad … I hope

today isn’t, anyway. My school sometimes gets messed up with program cards … :stuck_out_tongue:

I agree, JamieLew, that friends are very important when it comes to school and

life in general. I mean, sure, if one does well in exams, then they’ve possibly got some good future prospects,

but at the same time, you can look at all those billionaires with like one GCSE and think 'THEY didn’t have to

work as hard, yet look at them!’

I’m so excited because I’m getting into a new school at Monday, the school is kinda High-School.
I don’t

know ANYONE in the whole school! And I have to go by train around 2 hours a day.

I’m startin’ 10th grade tommorow, woot!

I’m

scared

Good Luck, Meg.
Hope you won’t be eaten by the Monster School.

I’m going into

10th grade too! Except I go on Thursday… tomorrow I’m going to Disneyland lol.

Hooray, sophomores unite, and… all that.

Whoo.

First day of school today, although it was really just class meeting and schedules being handed out,

with 10-minute ā€œcapsule classesā€ to help us get used to our schedules and where to go. My history

teacher looks like a pretty fun guy, though, as well as the precalculus teacher. Spanish is going to be a

complete drag; it’s like literature class all over again, just in Spanish! Ugh.

Overall, though, can’t

really complain.

Are you insinuating that your school day was only about an hour long?

No, actually; it was only an hour shorter than a normal

day. Chapel first thing in the morning, big long spiel on the Honor System and then the entire student body

getting up and signing that they will abide by the system (that took some time), class meetings, very long lunch,

advisory meetings, and then seven 10-minute periods with 10-minute

ā€œfind-your-way-to-the-next-classroomā€ breaks in between.

You’re taking Pre-calc as a sophmore? That’s pretty advance, well to my school system standards. I’m

going into Algebra II this year and Pre-calc my Junior year. (I’m not behind by my school standards, ahead

actually since it’s an honors class).

I’m curious, are you guys good students? Do you get good grades?

On top of extra-curiculars?

When I was a

Freshman, I was horrible. I didn’t care. Now as a junior, I am a very good student. I balance extra activities

and school rather well.

As a Frosh .

. . yeah, I was good with grades and everything, but I wasn’t so keen on Extracurricular Activities. That was

until Sophomore year, where I just sort of exploded.

Here’s a brief list of

what I did OFTEN:
Clubs:
Knowledge Masters (3 Years)
National Honors

Society (3 Years)
Speech & Debate (1 Quarter)
Liturgical Choir (2 1/2 Years)
Covert American

Politics (2 Years)
The Monday Morning Newsletter (1 Year)

Other Annual Activities I

did:
The Frosh Retreat (4 Years)
The School Auction (3 Years)
The School Open House (2

Years)
Summer Day Camp Volunteer (3 Years)
The Michelangelo Project (Painting Ceiling Tiles my Senior

Year)
Dean’s TA (1 Year)

I just came to be known as someone always available when needed, and I always

enjoyed helping my high school!

EDIT - Oh, and I graduated with a 3.8 Weighted, 3.6 Unweighted. I was NO

WHERE NEAR the Top of my class (Some dude pulled off a 4.5), but I was proud of myself

Wow that’s a lot of stuff! Lol. I take all honors classes, academically wise. Except

for history which I took over the summer to free up a period. I’m in percussion which takes up almost all my

time. Zero period practice and 3 hour rehearsals twice a week and when 2nd semester starts up we’re gonna have

an additional 5 hour practice on Saturdays. :open_mouth: Yeah. Not to mention competitions which are usually almost

every week and basically all of Saturday. Other than that… I guess I’m really active in my school’s JCL (Latin

club) and I’m even secretary this year! I’m gonna be really busy. I’m starting art this year so… I don’t

know how that will be yet.

I concentrate on school a lot and I don’t have much free time in the first

place so I’m not all around like you, Phoenician! I’m anxious for the school year because I’m afraid I’ll be

stressed and busy all the time…

Just simply say to yourself: What’s wrong with being busy? As long as your doing what you

enjoy, you shouldn’t be stressing. Life would be boring if we were never busy, not to mentioned the

occasionally stressed!

Yea you can consider

me one of those ā€œgoodā€ students. Last year I finished off with uhh, a 4.28 GPA and in my sophmore year

I took precalc too. But the hard part was that I had to take precalc and geometry the same year cause I skipped

it by mistake the year before. But it was good to get it over with. I was taking calc by junior year!

I’m not really into clubs but I’m into athletic stuff. Right now I’m in the marching band right after

that there’s basketball then possibly track(depending on if I wanna get a job or not). Then back to basketball

training in the summer
