I am sorta excited to enter collge. At the same time, I am pretty scared too.
I usually get up at about 6:30am.
When I was in high school, my alarm clock reings at 5:30 in the morning. I then get an hour or snooze.
The earliest my classes start for me is 10:00 am.
Ugh, school. Darnit. I have to go back in a few weeks.
Part of me is looking forward to it though, for some strange reason.
Last year, getting up early for school was optional. You know you wanna do something a lot when you’re willing to get up early for it and you’re like me and sleep till 11 on the weekends. But few things beat the awesomeness of animating for an hour ad a half every school day morning for a year.
Heheh. I love how you said that. =)
Rachel: You just don’t expect me to forget about you when I got college starting to cram into my life. I’ll be busy, but I will try to find time for you guys.
Woo for college freshies! Yea!
One side of me is excited for the new experience…the other…not as estatic, school is school any way you look at it…
But on the other hand…my schedule is looking very “livable” right now…Only one class of friday!
My earliest classes start at 8:30, but that’s way better than the 7:20 classes I had my junior and senior year at HS…no more 5:00 mornings for me!
(yea I woke up 5AM every morning these past two school years )
*Driving (and having a car to drive) making it that much better as well! *
about 2 weeks 'til I start…
…and the contdown begins…
What’s your schedule look like Pixfan?
Wait til you get to grad school
…which thankfully I am not. Guh, you’d think I’d be doing something with my life after already getting a bachelors… -.-
But this year is going to be very exciting. I’m finally going to be an animation student! Don’t get me wrong. Illustration was a great major, but it just didn’t feel right. I’m not sorry I spent two semesters in that major though. Learned a ton.
I still have a few more stress free weeks of summer. Classes start the tuesday after labor day. And since I don’t have classes on tuesday I get to start wednesday. Huzzah for 3-day weeks all semester.
Actually I’m finished with school but because of my bad mark in Maths (an E) I repat the 10th grade. It is a little complicated. If I would have a better mark instead of the E, then I would have Mittlere Reife but if I don’t repeat then I would have Berufsreife. It means I can go look for a job but the chances are very low. So this time I will try and get better marks (I really hate maths). Maybe then I will go to the Wirtschaftsgymnasium. After that I will have a higher chance to get a job. Although here in Germany the chances are always low
But I do hope I get otther teachers in English and Maths. We just couldn’t learn anything from them. I wish I could get my teacher from the 9th grade. She was nice to us and you could actually learn something. But just because she was the youngest teacher at school, she was sent to the elementary school to teach there.
Wow, The schools in the Us are nothing like here in France !
Anyways i’m gonna be entering the 8th Grade i think I’m talking about the grade before high school . Please tell me if it’s not the 8th one!
Hmmm…let’s see
Monday: 3D Design 8-10:30, Drawing Studio 11-1:30, Math (whateva it iz) 3:30-4:45
Tuesday: First Year Seminar 2:00-3:15, Some form of English class 3:30-4:45
Wednesday: Same as Monday except without the Math class
Thursday: That English class again
Friday: Math again
That about wraps it up, can’t wait to see what this schdule actually feels like…
Pixfan: From the looks of your schedule, you seem incredibly busy. But it is a good thing you only take one class on Thursday and Friday.
Well compared to what I’m used to…it’s not that much…
May I have some advice please?
I’m starting middle school this year, and I’m crushed. All three of my sisters went to the school I’m going to, and they say I’ll be fine. Still, I’m convinced I’m gonna hate it. I ADORED my Elementary school, all my friends where there, I had amazing teachers, and it was smallish, so everyone knew me. I had been there since Kindergarden. I think what I’m gonna miss the most is having the one home room main class and always being with the same kids, because you have all the class in-jokes and everyones close. I almost screamed at this one girl when she said that she couldn’t wait to get out of our school because it was a “bad school” (she couldn’t even tell me why, I know she just wants to grow up). All my friends seem so eager to grow up, like they don’t know how great life is NOW! I heard Time of Your Life by Greenday and burst into tears (It was the song they played in the slideshow for our sixth grade graduation) and I’m still crying. Should I just get over this?
I think many of us went through that same thing. I know I did.
I went through that even in middle school. I made a lot of friends in those three years and not even half of them ended up going to the same high school as me. But you can keep in contact. Just because you might never see them in school again, doesn’t mean you can’t see them outside of school.
I thought I was going to hate middle school, as well. But believe me, it’s a lot better than elementary. Sure the school is bigger, and you may not know everyone there, but you will be fine. You’ll probably go through the same thing as you get into high school.
Look, the point is, we all grow up. Whether we want to or not. And we will end up losing some friends a long the way. You’ve only just started your journey. You still have all of middle school, high school and finally college. And there’s no guarantees that your friends will go to the same college, either. But you will make new friends. You’ll meet a lot of new people and hey, maybe even some of your friends are going to the same school.
Heh, I sure wish I was going into a grade. Nah, I’m finally done with those 12 grades. I’m in the same boat as you, TSS. College.
By the way, TSS, are you dorming?
No no no, it’s alright. I know exactly how you feel. Everyone in my class is like “Can we get over this already, this school is horrible, I wanna go to high school”, and I just want to yell out “ENJOY IT WHILE YOU’RE STILL YOUNG.” Don’t worry. Keep in contact with your friends, and trust your sisters that it will be a good school.
Well, I’m a high school freshman, I started last week, and my vacation got cut off my two weeks, but that’s alright. I wake up at 5:50 AM each morning, and my schedule looks like this
…
Actually, we go on block schedule that goes randomly everyday. It’s really weird. The only definite thing I have everyday is my Health Careers Program which is replacing Biology/Physical Science for me.
Rac_Rules: I know Elementray school was a big part of your life. I believe you should always keep the memories of Elementary school in yo. Never forget the memories and friends you made. But think of it as not the ending, just a new begining. Transitioning is very hard, but once you do, you never want to change out of it. You’ll get over it, but it will take a little time.
Remy14: No, I’m not dorming. I am going to a junior college in my area then I’ll start moving out to a new college and actually living in dorms. BUt while I’m here, I’m just staying with my parents.
Ah, okay. Yeah, I’m doing the same until I eventually transfer. I’m hoping for a university, but meh. Money’s kinda tight right now, just paid for tuition, so I wouldn’t be able to support a dorm, anyway. I wouldn’t want to put a big strain on my parents for paying. I’m paying for it mostly out of my own pocket.
Rac_Rules- I felt EXACTLY the same when I left Primary School to go to High School. The thought of going somewhere bigger, newer, where you don’t know many people and where you’ll be meeting different people all the time because of the classes you’ll be in was very scary.
I didn’t even get to go to the High School I wanted to- the first one I applied to didn’t give me a place, so I had to go to the ‘rougher’, larger school known for girls wearing short skirts and having cat-fights, and particularly known for poor grades.
At first, it will be difficult, but you’ll get used to it as time goes on. Even those of your friends who seem eager to grow up will be in shock at first; everyone’s in the same boat. But, just like me, I’m sure you’ll grow to love your new school and the new experiences it will bring. You will grow with the school, and I’m sure you’ll be having a blast in no time. Just be prepared to go out there, be brave, meet new people and learn new things, and you’ll be fine.
