Back to School

I stopped by school yesterday to pick up some paper work and chill out with some of my animation buddies. I was so nice to be back. Like returning home or something. I’m sure halfway through the semester I’ll be back on this thread ranting about my stress levels. But for now I’m happy to be back.

It’s nice to have you back Haunt !

Haunt: Yeah, I might do that halfway though the semester as well. Pixar Planet is a great place for me just to let it all go and relax a bit.

I now don’t even know what subjects I’m doing next year, and the uncertainty is killing me. I think I’m dropping Physics, and I’d like to take up another subject, either Biology or English, but I can’t choose between the two. Biology would be more helpful for my uni application, but I’m better at English and would find it easier to balance it with my other A-levels. But without Biology, I haven’t proven that I can do science well. Then there’s the fact that I’m probably changing Maths class, so I’ve no idea if all of this will even fit in my timetable or how it will work.

And because our college is so unorganised, they’re not going to tell me anything useful until we go back.

Of course! This always happens to me, too. The first day you see your friends and stuff and it’s nice being back. But after that homework begins settling in, and projects, and studying, and AHH! It’s like you just want to go back to summer. Waking up whenever you want instead of 6 a.m.

Indeed. I believe I have a video project due within he first 3 weeks. I hate working with video but I need to learn critical camera techniques.
And I’m pretty lucky with the wake up times. With the exception of my Mondays I can sleep in. Thanks to crappy Detroit construction traffic I have to get up extra early just to get a good parking spot.

Totally agree with you dude.

I had my first school day today. It was allright. Most of my classmates are new to me but I know some. The funny thing is that we have every grade at least twice, like 5a, 5b, 6a, 6b etc. And in both of the tenth grades are six boys and twice that much girls 8D

That’s my schedule (for now):

Monday:
Social Studies
German
Technology
Physics
Maths
Biology

Tuesday:
German
English
Art
History
Chemistry

Wednesday:
Maths
Music
Geography
English
Sports
Technology

Thursday:
English
History
Chemistry
Physics
Maths
German

Friday:
Maths
English
Biology
Philosophy
Social Studies
Sports

And our school, the Regionale Schule Albert Einstein (Regionale Schule = Realschule) celebrates its 30th “Birthday”. So the first week in October we will celebrate.

Wow, your schedule looks incredibly busy WON!

It is and in a few weeks, everyone from the 7th grade onward has to choose a course. That means three more lessons :unamused:

But two years ago it was worse. Wednesday and Thursday eight lessons, Monday nin, Tuesday and Friday six. So for now my schedule is allright.

Get back to school in 2 days… Excited and not excited at the same time.

I seocnd that Pixar.rocks.

Today was my first day of seventh grade. It wasn’t too bad, but I’m taking algebra this year, and I kinda spent half the period like this: :open_mouth:

I hope I’m ready.

y=mx+c

Explain.

School for me tomorrow.

Rac_Rules: I am sure you’ll be fine with Algebra.

Eeep. :open_mouth: I don’t want to get back to school. Summer vacation’s too short for me! But I’m being torn away from it tomorrow. On the bright side, though, on the first day, it’s more about signing papers, getting your parents to sign papers, and introduction than about sudden lessons and homework. At least, it’s that way for me.

I like first days because even though you are back to school, the teachers help you adjust back to learning mode.

we don’t get sudden homework, but we had one proper lesson today.

y=mx+c means…

the y axis or result is equal to slope(m) times x plus c (any number)

questions…

Well, I survived my first day as an animation student. My experimental animation prof is absolutely bonkers (in a funny) . He’s probably going to drive me nuts with his rumors temper tantrums, but I’ll deal. Today we made strips for zoetrope animation. We have to do metamorphic reel, a squash/stretch reel, and a random animation reel. He said we’d get extra credit for doing a walk cycle. I think I’m going to do a gryphon flight cycle, because I like being weird like that.
I also had my digital cinema class. I need to have my first project done a week from monday. It’s an easy shot, but my 'rent camcorder is old and doesn’t know a OS past window ME. (heh, the program driver is on a floppy). I need to find a way to get footage off the camera.
My last class was World Lit…but who cares about that. :stuck_out_tongue:
It was a good first day I’d say. Tomorrow is my most anticipated class, Creative Viz It’sall about storybroads. I can’t wait!
