Back to School

I’m already knee deep in homework after only two days of classes. One reading assignment (+ 2 page essay), 3 fully colored zoetrope reels, a chapter in a book I have yet to buy, and a video project.
The essay was easy enough. I now have the issue of finding a way to get footage from a vhsc tape to my laptop. o.O I’m hoping there’s a device at school that can do that. At least the zeotrope animations are easy enough.
I just wish the class I wanted homework in had actually given some. :[ No storyboard til next week I guess.

Ditto that, Haunt. I’ve been back for a single day, and yet I’ve already got three maths exercises, a whole bunch of Latin to learn and my Psychology coursework to start. Definitely not hanging around this year!

Ugh, school started for me two months ago - though last week was my one week third term holiday. Nevertheless, three days of last week’s weekday was booked by my Normal-Level final term examinations, so that did not count. Tomorrow, school will start again with yet, another preliminary examination (not an official one), so, to simply put it: stressful.

I am undoubtedly going to fail this year, and I cannot retake it again, so, it is really saddening. No, I am serious. I am very late in my studies.

I thought I’d bump this thread since school is starting again. I don’t have school until next week, but I’m looking forward to it since my favorite teacher isn’t going to be fired after all.

I started school yesterday. Today, in science, we did a bubble lab just to start the year off with some fun!!! Plus, it kinda helped clean the tables . . . XD

Well, tomorrows the day  . I’m actually one of those few people that are glad to be going back to school. I have hardly seen any of my friends over the holiday, leading me to be on my own most of the time and I miss all the fun times I have in calls . This is my last year in the school I am at now, since they only have us for 3 years… it is amazing and I love it! Newbridge High School  . I believe it’s the school that Billie Piper went too aswell!

Wow, this topic is old. But I am gald that it is back. I forgot about this.

For me, I started school last week. I am currently taking 5 classes: English, Astronomy, Theatre Scene Study, TV Acting, and Swim PE.

This is my second week of school. It is going to be a busy, but fun semester. I have two animation classes, a screenwriting class, history of animation, and a web class. I also have an internship this year. Two animation classes in itself is a lot of work. Add on everything else and… well, I hope I can finish the semester with my sanity intact!

Gahh I don’t want to go back :frowning: . Will definitely miss the summer. This is going to be my last year of high school.

Well, I’m a junior this year. I’m graduating in 2011, which seems soooo far away.

I started last Monday, and my classes are American History, Spanish 2, English 11, Chemistry H, Trig./ Pre-Cal., and my elective, Web Design. Along with the classes, I want to join the Improv Club, Video Production Club, and some sort of Community Service Club. Apparently Colleges like community service.

The bad news about this year is that the guy who was a total jerk to me last year is here again this year, after telling everybody that he was transfering to another school. However, he’s not messing with me as much this year, and he said he’s gonna ask a girl out, so if that happens, he’ll probably spend more time with her.

I started school on Mon., and I really wish I didn’t have too but oh well.My classes are actually pretty cool, but my schedule stinks. Mon. - Wed. I have a three hour block of nothing at the same time, but I can’t leave because I commute, and it’s not really worth the trip.

Like I said, my classes are pretty good. I’m a film major, so this year I have editing, a production class, a film analysis class where the topic is Hollywood in the 70’s. That means George Lucas, Steve Speilberg, Francis Ford Coppola, and a few others. We get to watch scenes from Star Wars, and some people should know how awesome that is for me. I’m taking a class called Cable and Broadcast programming I believe, which should be fairly easy. The only class I want to drop is Acting. I’m not really keen on the course, and it is a big kink in my schedule, Getting rid of it would give me so much time. The only reason I want to keep the class is really more of a social reason, so I have to decide which is more important. I think I’m gonna drop it though.

I did find out that I should be graduating this spring, possibly only taking four classes next semester, so that’s pretty cool. I’m proud that I finished on time, but I’m kinda worried about going out into the “real world”. Art school is still an option.

TSS: Oh man. I loved astronomy. I took it a million years ago at MSU but I still remember a good chunk of it. I’m such a space geek.

As for my classes. My Mondays and Wednesdays are jam packed. Flash animation in the morning, then senior studio for 6 hours. (Wooo, finally get to do my senior film!) Tuesdays and Thursdays is my 2nd semester traditional animation class. I have a 3 hour break, then I have my proctor job in the 24 hour computer lab, where I will tangle with the likes of surly students and forgetful teachers. Ah school, how I missed you.

(also, score on not having any more liberal arts classes…ever)

Well, I’m meant to go back next Monday but I’m away in Rome for four days so that’s not gonna happen. Even though I am going back to school, because this is my ‘gap year’ I’m not really going to be going to every lesson because I’ll be doing most of the work at home. I’m only taking Biology and English Lit now, so even though I’m doing the Biology A-level in a year instead of two, I still have more free time than last year, meaning that I can travel, work and volunteer more.

No more Maths or Latin ever again though! That feels so good.

i have school every day except Friday. I am at school the whole day on monday (with a 6 hour break between my last two classes). Tuesdays and Thursday, I have class from 11:00-12:15. And my second class goes from 3:00-5:00. Wednesday, I got school from 9:30-12:00.

Back on monday >_>

School started for me last Tuesday. I’m now on the Wirtschaftsgymnasium. It’s very different then my former school; loads of new subjects, although some remind me of my old ones, only with different names. But I can’t really tell, we just started. Right now we have no History And Political Development because we have no teacher and our German teacher is sick. So we have free time during the times we should have those lessons.

One of our subjects is Russian and I feel like I’m back in the first grade. No surprise there, the Russians have other letters. But at least I can speak (but not write) the Russian alphabet^^

I love & hate the University System in the United Kingdom right now.

Love: Whilst everyone else here, and my siblings finally return to their education tomorrow, I on the other hand move back into University Accommodation on September 20th, and then I don’t enroll until the 23rd with official Lectures starting (timetable depending) September 28th… with unofficial lectures starting on the 24th.

Hate: I’m SOOO Bored! I need something stimulating. I would do anything just to sit in a lecture or lesson… Subject I don’t really mind… Science, History, Politics, Art… Modern Foreign Languages not as much but generally Anything!

Today was the first day of school for this year. R.I.P Summer '09, Summer of UP. :frowning: .
