Of course, he actually appears in a game, Conker’s Pocket Tales. He’s an incredibly minor character though and Rare claims he’s not official Conker canon. Oh well, I still love him.

I like this minor character so much that I actually made him the main villain in one of my recent fan fictions.

(To this day I’m still convinced that Diddy Kong Racing, Donkey Kong Country, Conker’s Bad Fur Day, and Banjo-Kazooie all happen in the same timeline. They’re all made by Rare. Yeah.)

I’ve always thought Conker’s Pocket Tales and Diddy Kong Racing took place when Conker was young, and so Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts was probably taking place when Conker’s Bad Fur Day was…err, I don’t know anything. xD

I love the skunk. Really great design that feels like he’d be in a Rare game. The look on his face reminds me a bit of Pepe le Pew. :wink:

Oh man, that is exactly what I thought about too! Pocket Tales/Diddy Kong Racing’s Conker is just too different from Bad Fur Day’s Conker.

Oh, Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts is probably after Bad Fur Day. Reason? Conker, in his war getup, makes a cameo appearance in a Showdown Town newspaper. Rare loves making references to their past games, and I love that.

Really, I think too much about this…

And yeah, I noticed that he looks a bit like Pepe too. That was totally not intentional, though. xD I was more trying to make him look like Rare’s other characters, but still skunk-like and not a black-and-white copy of Conker.

Aaw, I love the way you draw him! I have trouble drawing monkeys, or Donkey Kong characters in general. The pose is very lively and wild. :smiley:

Also, I gotta thank you for turning me into a Conker fan xD I didn’t really know how I felt about it at first, but I’m able to look past some of the crudeness and appreciate Rare’s mad genius behind it all. I’ve been watching an LP, I don’t actually own it…yet!

Why thank you! I still think I fail at drawing apes and monkeys though, haha. I did draw a realistic gorilla once from an art book, but that’s it. xD

Hah, I seem to turn people into Conker-fans everywhere I go! Must be because I can talk only about the positive aspects, what others don’t. Like, I appreciate the deeper things in the game. Like him being so guilty and sad at the end. Daaaw.
That’s awesome! Of course, I think it’s one of the best games of the last decade. It’s been through so much. I mean, it used to be kidfriendly until a couple of people at Rare said ‘screw it, people criticize it because it’s too cute? Let’s see about that…’ :laughing:

Heh, if I had that ability, everyone here would be into Mario and Professor Layton right now. :laughing: I apparently don’t have that touch, I guess. I can’t talk about the deeper aspects of video games because no one really seems to care, anyways. (And I even talk about the positive aspects of the games, too.) :unamused:

I think that Diddy you drew is really cute. :wink: You have an adorable style, and I noticed that you don’t really seem to have a problem with changing the way you color in your pictures (I do… I can’t do any different techniques with mine). I really like the “cut-out” look for the picture, and I also like the way you did the fur. It just looks really cute. :smiley:

Aw, thanks! Yeah, a lot of people seem to notice my different colouring styles. I’d like to continue that tradition until I’m old and creepy, if I still draw, that is. xD

Also, my tablet just got a driver installed, so that means that it actually responds to the pen pressure. Yay!

King K. Rool, the villain of the Donkey Kong Country series, before DKCReturns, obviously. I quite like him. I used only three colours for base, shading, and highlights, and am quite impressed by this colouring myself.

Diddy Kong and Dixie Kong, daaaw. Yeah, I’m on a DKC kick right now :laughing: For this one, I looked around on the internet to find references so that the background would be recognizable, and then painted it on photoshop. I am REALLY happy with this one, as I don’t think I ever put so much effort in an art before. Lol. I tried to capture the serene feeling of the levels and the music in a drawing. The music may bring up some memories. David Wise really did an amazing job to really bring these levels to life.
This track is so underrated, everywhere you go it’s Bramble Blast this, and Crocodile Cacophony that. What ever happened to good ol’ Forest Interlude?

Donkey Kong Country Returns features beautifully rendered sunset levels, so I drew a Banjo-Kazooie scene in that style. I should’ve put more effort in this but oh well.

This is one of my original creations, a swamp elemental deer of some sorts. She is kinda spooky… hence it only being a link. She’s going to appear in the sequel to Oriisu’s story. Made in MSpaint.

Here’s the cast of Ori’s story. I forgot the villainous dragon but he’d look out of place anyway.

They’re Aviens, a species I made up - humanoid birds with cat ears thrown in for good measure. I don’t know about that snake witch though.

Okay, I just gotta ask you somethin’… How the heck are you so good at backgrounds??? Do you have any tips, or something, because I’m completely stumped when it comes to drawing backgrounds. :blush: If you can help me out, that would be great. :smiley:

To be honest I think I royally suck at backgrounds… I just look up loads and loads of references, use a lot of filters and special brushes, and… I don’t really know, sorry… xD

Thanks, though! The names of the characters from Ori’s story may or may not change in the future, though, because they were actually the names of some of my early Neopets. :laughing:

Haha, I think I fail at backgrounds more than you, though. 8D It’s hard to find references when you are trying to draw something that you really can’t find a picture to reference from… if that makes any sense. xDD I’m not all that great with filters and different brushes… but hey - I’m pretty sure I’ll figure it out eventually. :slight_smile:

I love your Diddy/Night Fury crossover! :mrgreen: Is “Picture Unrelated” an Internet Meme?

I also like your drawing of Scrat. Perhaps you could’ve made it more interesting by having him reacting to something, like maybe Sid trying to steal his acorn, or Scratte batting her eyelids at him or something. Here, it looks great, but there’s not much of a story to it (which is fine, but it didn’t really engage me as much as your Diddy/Night Fury piece). I usually like to include more than one character in my fanart, and I find that opens up more interesting reactionary possibilities, unless I’m going for a solitary, ‘one-man-army’ kind of theme.

Any chance that you’re gonna draw a Rio fanart? There’s woefully few of them on dA so far, and I think your one of Blu shows potential. Or maybe some more SSRC? :wink:
