Badger's other art

Thanks, folks!

I did a meme… it was just to draw my favorite characters. Well, that’s easy. xD

Full View
Can you recognize them all? Considering my fangirlism, it’s not that hard… :stuck_out_tongue:
With a guest appearance of the Evil Acorn of Conker’s Pocket Tales fame. xD

Heheh, I love it when people fill out that meme  Kazooie, Conker, Toothless, Kevin, Yoshi, K. Rool, Diddy, Bone, Scrat (with the Pocket Tales cameo you mentioned)…it seems like the only one I can’t place is the snake. He looks familiar, though, and I know I’ve seen him. Great job on all these! Conker’s expression is ace.

Thanks! Nice, you’re right. But the Bone is actually Phoney Bone. There’s three of them, you see. xD

The snake is Sinuous from the Animals of Farthing Wood. The TV series at least, in the book he was female because Adder was male in the books. (in the series their genders got reversed)

“Tell me a story, DK.”
“Okay. Once upon a time… the end.”
“D’aww, you’re no fun.”

I love this one! Their fur looks very realistic.

That picture’s beautiful! I especially like the trees and the sky.

Oh my gosh, I love it! The way the fur is shaded with the different reds and purples perfectly suggests the sunset. And their expressions are great too. I love everything about it.

Aw, thanks, guys. Meanwhile, I’ve drawn a lot in the past few days, too… I’m fidgeting around with colour like mad lately!

Still in my Donkey Kong Country fandom. Playing around with colours equals another soppy Diddy Kong and Dixie Kong picture. D’aaaw how adorable my eyes are burning

Alright, these two, Klump and Krusha, went from being just mooks in the game Donkey Kong Country to full-fledged characters in the TV show. I love those two bumblers. They’re bad guys working for King K. Rool, but they’re… bad at being bad, you see? Especially Krusha. I can really see that guy getting himself in all kinds of troubles, what with his childlike demeanor, to which Klump has to get him out, heh. Like in this image.

Here’s a sillhouette chart for my original characters in Ori of the Ships. Some of you might remember them

If you’ve seen my signature already, you’ll see that I quite like Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole. Soren and Gylfie are cool. I tried going for cold colors on the former and warm on the latter. I quite like the result…

Good job! I like your use of color, I know already that thedriveintheatre will love your Legends of the Guardians sig!

EJE is incredibly clairvoyante!

I’ve posted my thoughts on the LOTG piece on dA, so I won’t repeat them here. I kind of like the Diddy and Dixie piece with the soft lighting and Gaussian-blurish effect. The silhouette chart is also strong and the characters distinctive- but I recognise only the bird with the flower on its head and the snake character I commented on awhile back. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’d love to hear your opinion on my Oscar piece- you can check it on my dA or click the link in my sig.

Thanks, guys!

I drew a Rio art. :]

I wanna see that movie seriously

Wow, great one! The tail feathers are gorgeous!

Great artwork, I really love the bold brushstrokes of his tail and the sun reflecting of his feathers! You could’ve done a more magnificent background (like the poster of Rio’s bay stretched below him), but it’s a pretty solid effort.

Can I has Jewel please?

U vraagt, wij draaien. :stuck_out_tongue: (that’s a Dutch figure of speech BTW xD) Thanks for the comments!

I know you’ve probably seen this one before on DA, but I haven’t drawn anything Rio-related in the last couple of days. It’s a shame seeing as the film is really good! I’ve finally seen it, yay!

Also, yay crossover jokes. Crossing over Donkey Kong Country with Pirates of the Caribbean? It’s more likely than you think.

Oh, Skurvy is a pirate alright. Klump is not amused. Ah, brotherly love, ain’t it grand?

needs to draw more different things

Here’s Horkel, one of my own characters. His story takes place after Ori’s.

He’s a prince, but not a very good one! :stuck_out_tongue:

Lovely as always, Badger! I haven’t gotten to see Rio yet, but I love the way you draw its leading female bird. Even without the eyelashes the drawing would have a feminine charm to it.

Pirates of the Caribbean memes never get old! I love Klump’s face, it’s a mix of bewildered, unamused and malicious. 8D Skurvy is so content!

Ooh, I am very interested on this OC! I love Ori, so it’s cool to see another. I love the pattern on his tail, and the exotic looking clothes. Can we hear some of his backstory?

Danke, Badger! You finally drew Jewel! Now do one of them together (or try the other characters)!

Why isn’t this up on dA yet? I wanna fave this!

Anyway, I also liked the ‘Jar of Dirt’ sequence from POTC, but did the characters really hold a jar of dirt in Donkey Kong?

Horkel looks cool, but it would be nice if he came with a synopsis and he had a badder-*ss background.

Thanks once again, guys!

Horkel’s story is that he’s the prince of the island, so he’s to be a king… however, he’s narrow-minded and selfish. One day however, he stumbles across an orphaned baby Avien that is a different subspecies than himself (it used to be a centaurish creature… but got changed, 'cuz apparently, I hate centaurs.). He must return the kid to his tribe which lives on the other side of the isle, and will soon discover that selfishness is not the key to success.

It’s a few years after Ori’s story. I don’t know how many years yet, but quite a while. Let’s say he was a little kid when Ori had her adventure (he’s around 18 now)

Anyway, here’s some moar arts;

Yoshi!

Captain Fluffclaw, a pirate skunk from a novel I am writing. Original character, gasp!

And her loyal black cockatoo called Lorregaai (whose name is a portmanteau of Lorre, a Dutch nickname people usually give parrots, and Papegaai, the Dutch word for parrot)

Wooo, the cover of my famed and much-hyper Donkey Kong Country fan comic! You can read the first page here. Warning - it may get graphic later on.

Speedpaint but-not-quite of Kaptain Skurvy, a minor antagonist in the Donkey Kong Country TV series. He’s a pirate, that’s why. I did draw the game’s rendition of DK Isle and Crocodile Isle, however, simply because I like them much better that way.

And this is just random. Krusha and Klump, however, will still remain some of my favourite characters.

Here is Oriisu, in some kind of liney style! I quite like how this came out, personally.

This probably needs some explanation… DKC, again, and those bad guys, again. That itty bitty baby is Krusha, d’aww. So, I seem to think that Krusha was orphaned at K. Rool’s doorstep to which Klump took the little blue Kremling in. K. Rool finds it odd at first, but eventually he realizes the youngster could be useful at a later age. And yeah, it’s cute. Even though it’s fanon theories.

The trio of bad guys celebrate carnival. Yes, Krusha’s costume is a reference to a certain movie about macaws (even though it’s Squawks he’s cosplaying as, to keep it related to the DKC games), and yes, that is indeed K. Rool in a dress. 8D

…whoa, I’m on a roll!

I’m really like the Oriisu drawing! It’s always fun to draw in a different type of style, and that one is well done!

♪ All… the birds of a feather! ♪ I love the Carnival costumes of the DK baddies! Do you have a link if you posted it on dA, cos’ I skimmed through your gallery and I can’t find it.

I love your Jewel drawing, but again, I can’t seem to find it on dA! :frowning:

Also, I really love this crossover you did. I hope you don’t mind me sharing it here, let me know if you want me to remove it or let you post it instead.

I would love to see more Rio, Legend of the Guardians, How to Train Your Dragon fanarts from you, but I know you said on your profile that you switch fandoms without warning, so no pressure.

Ah yes of course, my fandom-switching is random xD The Jewel drawing was a Muro piece, so it’s not in my gallery. I don’t find it good enough really :stuck_out_tongue: Same for that carnival pic of the trio of DKC villains. 8D 'sides, I don’t think people are jumping to see K. Rool in a dress. ‘Staan te springen’ is a Dutch figure of speech meaning excitement but literally means ‘are jumping’, does it mean the same in English?

Haha, I don’t mind you sharing my crossover, I totally forgot about it xD I should try to practice drawing Hiccup 'cuz he’s awesome. I drew him a few times but I can never get him to look right aaargh

Thanks for the kind comments, though! Both you and EJE. I appreciate it.
