Bee Movie

Well,

surely there must be something that can convince you. I won’t force you. It is your life and if you don’t want

to see it, you don’t have to.

Yeah, as I said, I’ll just end up

watching it on TV a few months later, so it’s all good.

LizardGirl, have you ever been to

RottenTomatoes.com? It is, IMHO, the BEST site for movie reviews there is. Instead of just one guy giving their

opinion about a movie, it takes as many reviews as it can find, averaging their ratings together to decide

whether or not the film is ‘rotten’ or ‘fresh’. It’s a VERY reliable site, and a life-saver when it comes to

good and bad films!

rottentomatoes.com/?fromint=1

Thanks for

the link, Meg! I’ll certainly use it for future films.

Won’t you consider using it for this movie?

Well, there aren’t any reviews for it yet- it hasn’t been released.

I meant after the movie has been released, will you

consider using the rottentomatoes website?

Yep, I shall. But even if the film

is rated as being very good, due to the expensive prices of going to the cinema in the first place, I’ll

probably just wait for it to go on the TV.

Oooh, do you have any second-run theaters by you? They’re fantastic - the one

near me is only a buck fifty per ticket!

lizardgirl: I guess if

there is a film that is worth seeing, and you really, really want to watch it, then

you would see it in the cinemas.

Meg- We did have quite an old cinema near by, but I think it’s

shut down now- there’s no more business for it, as everyone goes to the new, big brand cinema, despite how

expensive it is. There, one ticket is usually about ?6.00 (approx. eleven or twelve dollars.)

TSS- Yeah, I see certain films in the cinema that I’m desperate to see

ASAP, like Pixar films or films with Steve Buscemi in, but that’s really about it, unfortunately.

Seems okay,

but not too excited about this. Maybe that’s because I haven’t seen a lot of good movies lately. I recently

watched the trailer on Apple.com, and that seemed to not help at all.

Mitch- If you liked Ice Age:The Meltdown, you’ll be pleased to hear

that Blue Sky is doing Ice Age 3 for 2008.

Yeah, so I’ve heard. I’m excited.

Just in case anyone is curious,

here is the Yahoo! Movie page for Bee Movie:

Bee Movie

There is only one production photo up

at the moment, but a cast list is present.

I love the selection of voice actors. They have Oprah,

Renee Zellweger, Matthew Brodwrick, and Uma Thurman, to name a few. I am sure this will be an enjoyable

movie.

According to Jonathon Ross, “the only amazing thing about the Bee Movie was that it was ever made”.

The Star Swordsman - Indeed. It always astounds me how

far a company will go and how much money it will pay just to get a few famous actors that its audience will

recognize. Just because the actors are populars, doesn’t mean that the film will be a hit; unfortunately, it

seems as if alot of big company’s think that way: famous actor = success.

:unamused:

lizardgirl - Ha! That’s hilarious… I think he has a point

there… :stuck_out_tongue:

To me, the more popular the actor, the more people will see it. I mean, if you can get die

hard fans of an actor to star in a movie, a lot of people will see it.

The Star

Swordsman - Well, that could help, but I think it depends on the story and people’s overall

opinions about the movie. If people saw a movie just because a famous actor was in it - I don’t know, it seems

wrong to me for some reason.

Well, this leads me to an example between Shark Tale and The Incredibles. Shark Tale had bigger names, but the

Incredibles had the better story (and better acting in my opinion). So if Bee Movie can have a great story, the

the big actors will make the movie even better.

Bill and The Star Swordsman - I agree on one level: actors mean nothing if the

story is not adequate. Alot of company’s will get big name people to star in their films because they think that

stars equal money. Nope – true, that is not, in my book (or in any book, for that matter). It is the story –

the plot – , and the characters that string the entire film together.

So, like you said,

The Star Swordsman, if Bee Movie has an adequate story,

then the actors who star in the film will be able to make the film even better.
