Buzz Lightyear of Star Command- anyone ever watch it?

I have seen the adventure begins movie but i really want to see the tv episodes. have they released a dvd of the episodes becuase i havent seen them around.

Unfortunately not)= I saw a VCD of the series in Hong Kong a few months ago, and was contemplating on whether or not to buy it, then I forgot about it before I left! (stomps on my own foot) Darn it! Why did I forget! :frowning:

oh yay…the videos were awesome.

This show was aimed at boys ages 6-9. A, I’m a girl. B, I was already at least 10 when this show came on. So, no. I never watched this show.

Ah, now THIS was how to spin off a show! I loved this show, and the movie, when I was a kid, was one of my faves to watch. It took my fave things- Pixar/Disney and Sci-fi and threw them in a blender. Just curious, anyone here ever see the hilarious anti-drug one they did? Had Mira get addicted to phasing through radioactive energy, skewing of course the genre convention of radiation giving superpowers. Disney broadcast it about 6-7 times, then banned it.

I love it that they included the voice of Nicole Sullivan (also voice of ‘Shego’ in “Kim Possible”) in the series; one of the reasons I watched gained an interest in it, though I didn’t really recognize her voice till many years later after my first encounter with the series…

Nevertheless, you gotto love how one Pixar feature can be turned into a series to continue entertain you with the characters you love so much (they should had a Woody cameo, though, IMHO).

So I wonder what that makes me? I’m a girl, and I was 20 when I watched it. Just goes to show what a juvenile mind I have, I guess

i was about 12 when i watched it and i thought it was great…

I always liked the start where they showed Woody and all that. That was usually my favourite bit.

My favorite episodes…

Star Smasher
42
Wirewolf
Panic on Bathyos

I used to watch it on Saturday Disney when I could. It was the only Disney cartoon I could really sit through. Plus I thought it was great at the time with my warped sense of history at my age at the time. (“See mum! Buzz Lightyear was a really real show! That must mean that Woody’s roundup was real too!”)

Haha. It’s a shame they didn’t create “Woody’s Roundup” as a television series, too, side by side with “Star Command.” Now that would had been great.

“This Saturday, 10 hours of back to back episodes of Woody’s Roundup and Buzz Lightyear of Star Command! It’s your favorite Pixar characters… on TV.”

I remember hearing in the commentary on the Toy Story 2 DVD that the section with Woody’s roundup was originally much longer than it was in the movie. I wonder why it wasn’t in the deleted scenes section on the second disc?

Probably because it wasn’t created in the first place. Maybe they meant they had a storyboard thought out, but it never really processed into actual animated scenes.

Couldn’t they have put that onto the disc? I’ve seen them do that with some other scenes. I would have loved to see the extended scene.

Maybe it’s saved for the 20th Anniversary Special. :stuck_out_tongue:

It will be in 4-d with commentary on all of the individual frames in the movie. Why? Because they can.

When BLoST first came out, I already lost faith in Disney and refused to watch any show, but I heard that this show was really good based on what I read on the Internet…and I loved it. It has a unique atmosphere that you don’t see in many animated shows today and the characters are just lovable (especially XR, but I think everyone knows that by now  ).

Something interesting: The guy who created the characters of BLoST also created the characters of Darkwing Duck, which I also didn’t like when growing up (Ducktales is more appealing to a 5-year-old), but today, I’m surprised that Disney could create such an egotistic main character or Dr. Bushroot (does he classify as a villain?). I forgot what the character creator person’s name is, but he has to work on more animated shows.
