I’m really excited this movie is available with the 3D Blu-Ray option. I have the player with a few 3D decent movies. But this will look great. I’m either picking up the third or fourth option, as I don’t have Mater’s Tall Tales Blu-Ray yet. What about you? Discuss!
Yes! This is awesome, I can’t wait! I’ll probably get the third, seeing as I already have Cars on Blu-Ray and I don’t have a 3D TV. I have a library of a few hundred films on my external hard drive already, but I REFUSE to torrent Pixar films because they deserve my money.
Not sure if I’m gonna get the Bluray…I still don’t own the first Cars. I was hoping to maybe pick up Cars 1 + 2 in a pack, but the Director’s Version is a little expensive.
Wait, wut? Two PACKAGING options? That’s just silly. XD
And yet neither of them have the cool 3D boxart, and I honestly don’t need a 3D copy. Dumb question though; can a 3D blu ray play on a standard bluray player? I know it would look all blurry, but just in case there are also additional bonus features and I’d want to access them.
…
A… a box set? Is Upcoming aware of this? They haven’t mentioned it, which is a shame, because it looks amazing and like it wants my money. I never bought BluRays or Digicopies or Cars or Tall Tales. 8’D
I think Pixar hates me. I mean the Toy Story series got an awesome Blu-Ray release (the Ultimate Toy Box) and now the Cars series is?? Plus the supremely awesome John Lassetire die-cast car??? As a huge Cars die-cast collector, this is totally unfair. Darn you, Pixar! Darn you all to heck!
I’ll probably get the Blu-Ray G2-style one. The Cars: Director’s Edition looks good but its getting a little to expensive for me but I don’t mind though because blu-ray Cars 2 is going to look fantastic
I’m excited for this release, but Darn it, Pixar! I told myself I don’t need the compilation pack of the first two movies if they do release it, especially because I already have Cars and Cars Toons on Blu-ray, but that John Lasseter car looks too awesome, and it includes Digital Copies.
For me it depends on the ultimate pricing and what deals I can get. I’m very tempted for the 3D Release only because the pack art looks much better to me. We’ll see.
A standard bluray player will not play a 3D bluray, however the 3D edition of Cars 2 comes with a standard 2D bluray as well, which WILL work on any player. Plus, you get the digital copy and bonus disc which you don’t get on the first or second option. Well, presumably you get the bonus disc with options one and two but that’s unconfirmed.
And yeah, it’s pretty silly that there are two different packaging options, but like they did for Toy Story and Toy Story 2, Disney is clearly trying to help assist the transition from DVD to bluray, so packaging them together like a DVD, stupid as it is, might help that
Ah, darn it! I was hoping for a Toy Story 3 kind of deal, with the 2 Bluray discs, dvd, and the portable copy. But they added the 3d which I have no need for (don’t have 3d). I think I’m leaning toward the 2nd option, though disappointing without the bonus feature disc. Also, does anyone find the omission of a regular dvd release minus the blu ray annoying?
I’m definitely going to be getting the 3rd one with the five discs. I just want the special features. The boxart is really nice too. I wish there was another way to get the John Lassetire diecast
Hey, no problem! There may be some minor variations, but it would be something like his facial expression or eyes. Not a big enough difference to justify this set on its own xD
Animated movie can’t have a lot of deleted scenes, because most of the elimination process happens on the storyboard stage. And even the few there are, are just work in progress, without finished effects.
