Yeah well I guess I am going to go to bed and hope everything is better in the morning night guys. And I did not just say it like that Dreamworks has been making good movies lately but pixar has had this streak since its been around so its a diffrent case.Dreamworks has just started a streak with HTTYD and KFP2 so if it would have made Cars 2 I bet it would have been another notch on the belt for them.
Oh no! I didn’t say it to you. I was saying that a lot of people on this site think that.
Do not worry I rarely get offended and I know it was directed at many users not just me in particular.
Yeah, the option to compare to DW and be all “at least it’s not as bad at a DW film” is getting hard to defend. KFP2 was wonderful. Dare I say, better than Cars 2 IMO.
I think they’re equal. KFP2 was high on my list for heart. Cars 2 is high on my list because of so many other factors, but it’s a different genre. It’s hard for me to explain, but they’re equal to me on different levels. That’s a total paradox, but it makes sense.
I’ve read so many mixed reviews. because I’m a pixar fan, I’m gonna go watch it and i’ll post a review of my thoughts after I see it.
If somebody already mentioned this (it’s a LONG thread) I apologize: Rodger Ebert gave Cars 2 Two thumbs up!
(Some light spoilers in it)

Between this and his glowing KFP2 review, he’s starting to regain points with me after that “Video games can’t be art” crud he spewed a while back. Stick to movies, my good sir!
I’ll repost my review incase you missed it:

While I didn’t really like the film I would like to see it again, this time NOT in 3D. I find it pretty pointless.
I just saw the movie and thought it was horrible. Don’t get me wrong. I love all previous eleven Pixar efforts. But this one was TERRIBLE.
I’d set my expectations low, and had just gone in to have a good time. Carefree entertainment, you know? Unrestrained thrills. I didn’t even get those. This movie is a big, bloated turkey. There wasn’t ONE funny moment in the whole film. I barely smiled once (that [spoil]Queen-McQueen[/spoil] joke). The movie is beautiful and great to look at, but what good is that? The opening action sequence was awesome, but the movie just turns really, really lame after that. Bad isn’t the word for Cars 2. Lame is. The plot seemed like a mixture of the Speed Racer film and a crappy James Bond spoof. The story line is so predictable you aren’t sure whether it’s meant to be taken seriously. The dialogues are crude and stupid. It’s derivative, and boring. You heard me. BORING. All the explosions and colours can’t compensate for good storytelling, and it’s weird that Pixar, of all studios, has to be told this.
I wouldn’t recommend this film to anybody. And I honestly, honestly, can’t imagine any true Pixar fan enjoying this.
Hope Brave is better.
I… find myself in s strange spot here. Very confused.
Usually, when people see a movie and find it just ok, the process is that they come out of the film hyped and realize how “I liked it but I didn’t love it” the film was the more they process it.
I came out of the film feeling like “I liked it but didn’t love it” but the more I think about the movie and take time to work through it in my head, the MORE I find myself liking it.
I think I’m falling hard for this film, despite all the flaws it has. lol wut.
I agree with a lot of the reviews on here. Anyone who knows me on this forum knows how much I loved the first Cars. I like the feeling and style of the first movie. This one doesn’t seem to have the special touch that the first one had.
We all knew this was going to happen one day or another I think we should all get over it now and hope Pixar brings it back for the gold with Brave…And Cars 2 was not as bad as some of the reviews it got.
Actually, I go through this a lot with movies, though never with Pixar.
Cars 2 wasn’t even close to being that bad. People are totally overreacting. People on RT even say so.
I know seriously Cars 2 was way better then all the Shrek films yet they all have better reviews then it.I mean Shrek and Shrek 2 are fresh if they can get an 89% I think Cars 2 can get a 70 at the very least.
You don’y like Shrek?
Shrek’s not for everyone. I accept that the Shrek films are good for what they are but they’re not outstanding movies.
I only like the first 2 Shrek films but I still like Cars 2 way better then the first 2 Shrek’s
I love Shrek. Always funny!
IMO, Shrek 3 was weak enough that I didn’t even bother seeing Shrek 4. But I still love 1 and 2.
