It makes me wonder what kind of story will it follow.

I really hope the rumors are true!!! And I think a Cars 2 in
2011 is believeable 
. But I won’t allow myself to get excited about this until it’s officially confirmed by
Pixar, because I could’t take the dissapointment!! But I’m crossing my fingers!!!
I totally agree that
if the rumors are true then it’s a long wait until 2011, but I’d rather wait 4 years for a great sequel than 1
or 2 years for a poor one! The sequel should be just as great, original and detailed as the first Cars movie and
I’m positive Pixar would make it just that!
What do you think it would be about? It would have to be
pretty original,. not just about another Piston Cup race.
You know what would be cool? Some focus on Chick
Hicks- he is such an intriguing character, and Michael Keaton did such a good job voicing him - I always wanted
to see how he might be ‘redeemed’ like Lightning was.
What would you like to see in the sequel?
I hate to sound cruel, but I want like a major
tragedy to happen… You know like somebody getting hurt, and then they get all better and there’s a happy
ending or something. And more LS! Yea, if they make a sequel I hope that they put alot of LightninxSally in it,
because it would REALLY suck if they didn’t. I mean they’re relationship was one of the main things in the
movie, so they need to continue it that way. Am I right?

happening? It seems unlikely. Cars just doesn’t seem like a sequel type of movie. And I haven’t heard this news
anywhere else except for here, and JV’s news that he wrote a month ago…

I still say they should have more of the DRH…but that’s
just me…and maybe a hundred other people…
Welp, my personal belief is that it’s
Brenda Chapman. She did some writing on the first one, and we know she has a feature
film coming up. So…
I’m still having a hard time believing that this will actually happen. Don’t get me
wrong: I liked Cars. I just prefer that they stick with one movie rather than two. Pixar has said time and time
again that they pride themselves on their originality, and they don’t want to make a bunch of sequels. But now
they’re doing two sequels in a row? I don’t know if I want to go two whole years without something
“fresh” out of Pixar. Besides, Cars (like most other Pixar films) doesn’t
need a sequel. It’s great as a standalone film, and there aren’t any loose ends
to tie up, so any additional films would just feel tacked on. Now, I agree Toy Story 2 was a terrific sequel,
and I certainly feel that they can do something like that again, but that’s partly because the Toy Story series
had that element of “what comes next?” at the end of the first film. And again, Toy Story 2 ends with
enough questions of what happens after Andy grows up to justify a third movie. But Cars wrapped up Lightning’s
story quite well, and even had an additional epilogue sequence during the credits to tie up any extra loose
ends.
If this is true, then I’d like the story to be more about Radiator
Springs than racing. Still make Lightning the main character, but I want to learn more about the other
characters in the town. Also, make Mater more sentimental in the second movie, rather than just comic relief.
And I definitely do not want this movie to be made if Paul Newman isn’t in it!!
Doc is one of my all-time favorite Pixar characters, and I wouldn’t want another movie without him (or worse:
with a different actor). But no matter what, I’ll still go opening day to see this film.
One thing that
I’m excited about: if the rumors are true, maybe the release of Cars 2 will finally
bring us the 2-Disc release of Cars we’ve been asking for!
i’m with drewster, More of the DRH, would be
awsome.
I think a sequel is okay, but i think a spinoff would
be better, a movie about the delinquent road hazards! a movie on WINGO, BOOST, DJ, SNOT ROD and there life on the
road! I would pay money to see that!
