Cars Toons

I’m Mad cause Sally’s not in it! :imp: :imp:

That’s all of them.

Any new whether or not they’re still going to make these? I thought the others were hilarious

First off, I found a version of Tokyo Mater in HQ on Youtube!

youtube.com/watch?v=d5gdy-6Y6RY

It looks like Pixar gave a good wave to a few of it’s films in the short. heres a few things me and Cheez found:

As Mater “Drifts” out of the restaurant, you can see Mike and Sully (their car versions) for a short second:

Than, just as Mater and the “Drift master” are about to race, you can see two screens displaying “Lug Nuts”, “In a Cup”.

at 1:06, a Dinoco building can be found in the background as Mater arrives in Tokyo:

Right before seeing Mike and Sully, you see Mater drift into the restaurant. The title of the restaurant translates to “Hariihauzen”, the same name of the fancy restaurant in Monsters, Inc:

Both me and Cheez have reason to believe there are more Easter eggs to be found. Happy hunting.

Wow, nice finds Mygames19! I love that last one- how did you know it translated to ‘Hariihauzen’? That’s such a clever in-joke, and a really sneaky one for Pixar to put in!

Cheez has been taking Japanese. He knows some of the symbols up there, and from that he can fill in the rest.

I’m gonna take another crack at it later and see if we can find more Easter eggs.

Wow, interesting finds, MyGames19!

Actually, I think they might be on the next Pixar short films DVD as well as Cars 2. Well, I hope so…

That would be awesome! although, based on the facts, the second addition of shorts probably won’t be out for another two years or so…

Did anybody else go to see “Tokyo Mater” in Digital 3-D when it was shown in theaters before “Bolt”? I actually had to see “Bolt” a second time, because the first weekend “Bolt” was out, they weren’t showing the Cars Toon. I really liked “Bolt” a lot, but “Tokyo Mater” was easily the best part of my trip to the theater that day.

Sadly, I didn’t go to see it in theatres. Besides, my stupid theatre doesn’t show 3D anyways, so like it would’ve made the difference. :frowning:

Who is here is hoping the shorts will be on iTunes soon? Now that all four have aired on ABC Family when they aired Finding Nemo twice. I hope they add them soon.

Does anyone know what is the English translation of what’s written on the flag at the top of Tokyo Tower (in Tokyo Mater)?

ドリフト王:Drift King

Thanks Rey. :sunglasses:

Details about the second ‘season’ of Cars Toons:
blog.savedisneyshows.org/2009/09 … ars-toons/

Can’t believe it’s almost one year already! I can’t wait to see [spoil]the baby alien Mator[/spoil]! The other two are quintessential Southwestern American past-times, which should make for a good ol’ time!

This should be fun. :sunglasses:

I want to see Heavy Metal Mater!! Yes, I’m already picking favorites. And if it’s anything like before, I’ll see it last. I know I saw Mater the Greater (my pick for the best) last. Much, much later than the others.

I LOVE Toke-o Mater! It’s so dad gum hilarious and Lightning is totally awesome in it! I think that one is my favorite (I saw it on You Tube).

I love it how on every Cars Tunes, when Mater’s telling how everything went, Lightning asks a question and Mater says, “Well, you’d know. You was there too. Remember?” And Lightning’s like, “What?!?! Huh?!?!” And then it goes back showing Mater’s story and Lightning’s there screaming in a burning building, scared out of his wits on a platform, or doing SUPER cool ninja moves! That gets me every time! LOL!

Ka-chow! :whip:

Starting this November Disney are releasing another 3 shorts in the Mater Tall Tales Series.
The 3 are :

Unidentified Flaying Mater
Monster Truck Mater
Heavy Metal Mater
