Oh, of course. And I still think the movie will be good. But it has lowered my personal expectations, cause I don’t like [spoil]movies about transformations.[/spoil]
I’m actually MORE excited. This sounds really interesting to me.
I think I am still excited to see this.
If the picture on the Pixar Planet Blog shows Merida at the top and her mother beneath her, I would date her mother before I dated her. Although I will stop at dating a bear, though truth be told, I’d probably date a bear before I dated Merida…not only is she not attractive, but she looks like if you make one false move, she’ll kill you.
And yes, I feel the right to judge human characters based on their appearance until otherwise demonstrated. I’m sure the mother is the real one to watch out for, but she at least is beautiful, unlike her ugly offspring.
Awww, I wouldn’t say she’s ugly! She’s not the most beautiful gal, but not ugly.
I actually think she’s pretty ugly too. I greatly dislike her face and hair.
Oh, well.
There should be a thread just to discuss that, it seems
I really don’t get how looks are such a big deal tbh…
Not really, because only 3 or 4 of us seem to care about how she looks. But personally, I hate it. It’s driving me nuts.
She might look better in motion. Who knows. I like what I have seen so far, though. I think her design is unique, and not the conventional design for an animated female. Let’s be honest; would you actually see a girl do what Merida does wearing a pound full of makeup, and formfitting designer clothes? (I know it’s mideaval Scotland, but you get my drift. )
I agree MysteriousCharacter, and welcome to the boards
I personally like the fact that she looks unconvential and normal. Seriously, why do we need promgirl lookalikes as princesses all the time?
She doesn’t look either that pretty or that ugly. She’s normal and yes, may look better in motion.
So let’s give her a chance.
She looks fine. A little younger than I expected, admittedly, but I’m frankly pleased she doesn’t look tailor-made for a Barbie doll like other Disney princesses.
She looks young because of her round face.
I actually like Merida’s design.
Princess’s usally married at very young ages in med evil times.
Yes.
I love how Aurora, for instance, is just 16 but looks much older
I like pretty princesses. Sorry. I dislike ugly ones. It’s just my nature.
If you don’t mind, but just out of curiousity, would you still like her personality as a whole character, even thought she is not very pretty? That is, if she is likeable in the movie, but I’m pretty sure we’ll be rooting for her.
Oh, yes, I will still like her as a person, unless she’s horribly annoying or self-righteous, which I doubt.
