I agree! A lot of trailers are actually really bad at depicting the movies they’re advertising, which is a shame. Tangled’s trailer, for instance, had hardly anything to do with the film itself, and actually caused me to not see it when it came out!
I feel a bit bad for posting this, but somehow, the more I watch the trailer, the more uncertain I feel.
But Pixar’s got a lot on their plate for this one…and, at least in my opinion, not a single bad film has left their studios. So I’ll trust that the trailer is merely doing a poor job of representing the mood.
That happen to me with HTTYD, Lol. I thought it was going to be another bad DW movie. So one day I decided to Netflix it, and wow did I regret not seeing it in theaters.
I’m sure Brave is going to be good, I think I just place the standard too high for it. I just really want this film to be brillant. More for Pixar’s sake, they need it after what happen with Cars 2.
I think the new trailer looks awesome personally. Cheesy humor is pretty much to be expected in most Pixar trailers at this point. It seems like they put all of the lamest jokes in the trailers (just look at TS3). And the trailers don’t always communicate the actual tone of the movie (see Ratatouille, WALL-E, Up, and TS3). This is actually one of the Pixar better trailers in that regard if you ask me.
The story does seem slightly cliche and most of the jokes in the trailer aren’t that funny, but it’s still impressive for a Pixar trailer. The character designs are also growing on me; initially I thought most of them looked a little odd, but in motion they’re a lot more appealing. The environments look amazing as usual, although it does remind me of HTTYD as others have said. Hopefully Pixar can deliver, as I have pretty high expectations for this.
