$200m isn’t exactly terrible though ![]()
It’s not terrible, but it would be good if films make around 150M or so.
I guess you have to bear in mind the size of the country. In the UK, $15-20m is a good gross, but with the US it has to be a lot bigger.
I think it grossed decent, not really alot, but still a decent amount. The total worldwide gross was $551,834,734. It’s the 16th highest worldwide grossing Animated Film.
Even if a film does poorly at the box office, it can still sometimes redeem itself through DVD sales.
That’s definitely true ^^.
I remember when Scott Pilgrim came out, they barely advertised it and it only came out in a few cinemas, so only comicbook fans and friends of comic book fans saw it and it did badly, and then the DVD came out and all of a sudden it was everywhere.
One of the best films I’ve ever been dragged to see ![]()
I haven’t seen Scott Pilgrim. I haven’t read any Scott Pilgrim comics either.
I literally got dragged to the cinema to see it by a friend. I’d never read the comics but I am an Edgar Wright fan so I reluctantly agreed. Ended up being one of my favourite films of 2010, and I went out and read the comics after seeing it ![]()
I might have to watch it sometime and ofcourse read the comics.
You should ![]()
I seemed to like Cars 2 more when I saw it again.
I liked Cars 2 the first time I saw it, but just thought that there were some flaws in it, but the next time I watched it I seemed to notice more flaws, but still enjoyed it.
I feel that I liked it more because I was simply taking it for what it was. But when I look back and compare it to WALL-E, Up, and even the first Cars, it feels as though there is a massive void.
Yeah, I know what you mean^^.
I haven’t read those comics but I saw the movie. Definitely underrated and don’t understand why it wasn’t nominated for anything.
I like Cars more then Cars 2 because of the Mator thing I think.
I prefer Cars to Cars 2, because I think it has a better story and the better characters Lightning Mcqueen and Sally are much more prominent in it.
I feel that as flawed as the first Cars was, it had a heart and soul, which the sequel lacked.
^Yes, precisely. The second film was seriously lacking in any kind of deep emotion. The scenes that tried to evoke emotions left me cringing rather than feeling for the characters. ![]()
I think both are flawed, but sometimes in different things.
The first has heart and the second has pace.
I think they’re both on the same level, but I personally enjoy the second one the most.
