I’m sure Disney will probably be happy with Cars 2’s merch sales in the next couple years or so. Anyway, it’s kind of better now for it to be Pixar’s first flop.

If she did, I think she meant it in a different way. Like Mater’s been joking all movie that she’s his girlfriend and maybe her saying it this time was more like a “truce” or “accepting him” or maybe I’m reading too much into it. :unamused:

Did anyone see that Owen Wilson was nominated for a People’s Choice Award for voicing Lightning in Cars 2? I thought it was neat…and interesting that Larry wasn’t for Mater. Hmmm… o_0 :sunglasses:

I saw that. Kind of relieved that Cars 2 didn’t win, but I was hoping Rango would be victorious.

I haven’t seen Tintin yet, but from my experience reading the comics, I much prefer the characters to the Rango characters.

Tintin is very good though, my favourite animated film from last year. To be fair I would’ve been happy if any of the films nominated had won, except perhaps Cars 2. The film follows the comics very well, and it’s very nostlgic and Indiana Jones-esque; it’s issues lie in pacing and to those unfamiliar to the comics, a lot of the plot and character may come across as jarring and uninvolved, hence why it’s reviews, paticularly in the States, have been quite mixed.
Anybody think that Cars 2 has a shot at an Oscar nom? :slight_smile:
