Why do you need to hope? Its been confirmed time and time again that the whole gang (minus doc) is coming back. They’re is plenty of posters, are included in the website, and are even seen briefly in that one trailer.
Pixar isn’t making a big deal about it because they want those scenes to be a surprise, but they’ve definitely done a good enough job of telling us that both Sally, Mack, and everyone else are in this movie.
Yes, Mack was released on the first batch of returning characters. Don’t worry.
He’s even on that new huge poster, crossing that bridge with all the double decker busses.

Well, i hope Sally is still a big part of the plot.

No, i don’t mean the same plot or anything extreme like that. I just want Sally to still be important.
Just because a character doesn’t show his or her face doesn’t mean he or she isn’t important anymore. For example, [spoil]we all know that Doc is going to have a huge impact on Lightning in this one, especially since it’s rumored that he died, and the fact that Lightning has a silhouette of Doc on his hood with the Piston Cup under him.[/spoil] But, he isn’t going to show his face. I mean, at least Sally will, and there’s no doubt in my mind that she’s going to have a few lines.
I’m sure he’ll be in the movie for a bit, he is John Ratz aka Pixar’s Good Luck Charm!

btw, notice that blue tow truck? i have a feeling he works for professor z. Professor probably has him act and look like mater, since mater is with mcmissile, to get him closer to mcqueen to kill him. idk, im just throwing out thoughts. but he looks rly creepy.

Yeah,this is Lightning’s race anyway so why this is being focused on Mater I have yet to understand…

In the first Cars, he was just there, so no.
Coming from an extreme Lightning and Sally fan, of course you’d dislike the fact that the movie changes itself.
My favorite character is DJ, but they never speak about him after the movie. I’m obsessed with his character because he’s my ultimate favorite, but I’m not complaining. That doesn’t mean that I automatically think it’s going to be bad just because the character I choose to be amazing isn’t the main one. In fact, I doubt there’s a large number of people on this site who has even heard of DJ, but he’s there.
As for that new tow truck, there has been a Pixar fansite (or at least I think it was) who tweeted that he thinks there are two Maters. 
I can totally see this guy acting like him. In fact, if you were to look at the body details on both of them, you would see that they look very similar in small details…except for his Super Mario mustache, which I must say is dashing. 
That’s the most random favorite character ever, not in a bad way, of course. Unless you’re a big Kenny G fan and by extension, like DJ because he played Songbird, I can’t really see why you pick him as your favorite character. But anyway, all this means that we’ve all heard of DJ and know who you’re talking about, so that’s good news
Is it because he has that built-in CD player in his back that makes “Pretty music…”?
I dunno, Two Maters seems a little too complex even for PIXAR’s standards. I’m all for the whole Good Kirk meets Evil Kirk concept but I think he’s a bit too small on the page to be indicative that he’s not just a background character.

Yeah the diffrence is my fav character,dosen’t constantly have extra Cars stuff related to her,like guess who? Mater. Who’s been getting all the attention? Mater. And we did see a little of his backstory,“Our Town” comes to mind… You want more Mater? That’s why Cars-toons is there…

By the way, could anybody find the spy train (Stephenson?) on the Italy poster? I can’t see where they can fit a train in this packed poster, but for sure somebody said they saw it.
Also, on the topic of the Italy poster, there’s a Popemobile for real!!! 
ok in the italian poster, look at the paris tower…now look lower and you’ll see a train. train track is in front of the tower. and theres stephenson.
