Anyway, as I have said, Iā€™m aware that some of my criticisms might not go well with sensitive members. So from now on, any posts I make here will be about the positive things of Cars 2. This is because:

  1. I want to go on a ā€˜media blackoutā€™ closer to the filmā€™s release, in case some overexcited or inconsiderate members forget to spoiler-tag (Just want to say everyone is very well-behaved right now, but I canā€™t guarantee that it will be the case in the future).

  2. I want to contribute to the fandom in other ways besides writing (like fan videos, graphics and art).

  3. I do not want to be a ā€˜buzzkillā€™ or ā€˜wet blanketā€™. If I want to make any valid criticisms, I will do so on my blog and just drop a link here every now and then, so that anyone who is interested can follow the link and read my opinions, and anyone who is not can simply ignore the link.

I will still defend anyone who is bullied, whether by fans or contrarians, so Iā€™ll still be keeping an eye here. So letā€™s keep our discussions civil, and have friendly and meaningful discussions about Pixarā€™s next movie. :slight_smile:

Hey guys. Iā€™ve made some of reaserch in trailers, posters, news etc. And this is all avalible data about plot.

Spoilers Spoilers Spoilers

[spoiler]The green things are not very sure things.

Its few years after first movie, McQueen propably won several Pistons,
and is world famous racing driver. He get a invitation for World grand prix.
Then he makes a Party in Radiator, in old hotel.
I think that Lightning isnā€™t so best friend with Matter cause he has many work, duties and travels.
Matter is a kind of waiter at the party, than Sally say Mcqueen that he should take Matter for WGP.
So Lightning & matter fly to japan. During flight they watch some japanese tv show.

Movie starts with Finn is sailing on a boat to oli platforms. He is looking for some car, propably profesor Z.
He overhear a talk which Z make with his guys, but is spotted and must escape. McMissle drives at a top of a
platform, bombling some villains meanwile, and jump to the water. Then he turns himselp into a submarine and dodge few missles
launched by a stealth boat.

Friends arrive at Tokyo International Airport. Here something happens and matter is mistook with Rod ā€œTorqueā€ Redline, who was ambushed in toilet . Finn is trying to talk with matter, but bad guys are attacking, and Fill rescues Matter.
Than Mcqueen is meeting other drivers from WGP. Francesco is unkind to LIghting, so McQueen promises to beat him.
Race starts, bad guys are trying to get mcQueen out of the race, but they miss and take out Rip instead.
Propably Francesco wins the race.

Now story takes place in London.
Matter and McQueen are going at queenā€™s palace. Apparently McQueen dont know that Matter is a secret agent.
A Race take place at night, and is partly at rally track. McQueen uses his skills learned from Doc and overtakes Francesco.
McQueen propably wins race.

Later or Ealier finn and Matter are captured and placed in Big Ben, where a clock machine is going to crush Matter

Last race is in Porto corsa. Friend arrive in place, and Luigi meet his family. Matter make some another spy work.
During the race Shu Todoroki, Max Schnell and Miguel Camino have a crash. Despite being very sure to win, Francesco lose race
and WGP title.

Movie is going to end, Axlerod exposes himself as a bad guy. Good guys win, and maybe everybody meets @ Radiator.[/spoiler]

I am very pleased to hear this. Iā€™m not gonna lie, Iā€™m one of those pretty sensitive fans (arenā€™t we all when it comes to our favourite movie?) but I try to bite my tongue when I read criticism. Sometimes I donā€™t even feel like coming on here because of some of the hateful comments. I usually am alright with yours though TDIT because when you point out something bad you also provide positive feed back as well and you make your statements in a respectful manner. Iā€™m not saying that people shouldnā€™t say their opinion on Cars and Cars 2 but there is a right and wrong way to do so. This is an excellent post you have made, thank you.

So your spoilers are basically a mix of all the trailers, parts of the score, and guesses. Sounds legit.

Not really for me. If someone wants to criticise HTTYD, LOTG, Rio, Tangled, etc. they can go ahead and Iā€™ll simply read carefully and pick holes in their arguments politely. :slight_smile: And if they make valid arguments, I will acknowledge them.

Thanks for your understanding. As Iā€™ve said, I donā€™t want to repeat myself too many times and come off as a buzzkill, so any criticisms which I have voiced before or anything overtly negative will be written on my blog and I will provide a link. This gives the option to the reader to follow the link or ignore it, instead of being tempted to read my thoughts if I posted it here in this forum.

Any new thoughts or neutral comments will be posted here though (just like what Iā€™ve done below), and I will check in occasionally in case anyone posts spoilers or if thereā€™s an argument going on.

Now this version is at least edited much more cleanly! Thereā€™s some pretty epic music going on two-thirds the way through, but then itā€™s ruined by ā€˜Basil Expositionā€™ narrating everything and the rather tepid elevator music at the end. Oh, and now Iā€™ve discovered another toilet jokeā€¦ poor Mater always gets toilet jokes. :frowning:

Still I preferred this over the one released last week. Iā€™m just wondering how many trailers Pixar has released for Cars 2 already. The [spoil]Big Ben scene[/spoil] reminds me a bit of Basil: The Great Mouse Detective in some way.

It seems Francesco will be the most important minor characterā€¦ sort of like a replacement for Chick Hicks for Lightningā€™s rivalry (I wonder whether C.H. will make a cameo appearance in this one?).

At least I really like the slick and sophisticated technology and weaponry integrated with the agentsā€¦ Holley gets all the ā€œcool toysā€ as Finn calls it. :slight_smile:

I know Pixar canā€™t release too much footage too early, but Iā€™m wondering why didnā€™t they pick clips from the new featurette in lieu of the ones they eventually chose for the new trailers?

Some of the clips, like the overhead shots of [spoil]Paris, Italy and UK[/spoil] are breathtaking. They couldā€™ve capitalised on those ā€˜money shotsā€™ (A money shot is a very good shot from a film, the kind all audiences would pay to see).

I also like the featuring of a [spoil]casino.[/spoil] Gives it a very grown-up and sophisticated air, and what James Bond movie would be complete without [spoil]a game of high-stakes poker[/spoil]?

Well, of course they have! Itā€™s been 5 years! The ones who have really aged are probably the fans. As for the comment on the date scene all I can say is-----> :mrgreen: <3. That sums it up for me pretty easily.

I know right? I love thinking back to the first time I saw Cars. I rented it and I loved it so much I tried to watch it again the next day but we had to return it so I watched it one and a half times before I was able to buy the DVD. 8D

That video is terrific! Very interesting. I loved hearing John and the actorsā€™ POVā€™s, even if they might be biased. 8D
