That’s being a baby though. As much as I would love to!
The people who bash sequels based on the original are dumb. (Of course, I do that sometimes. But with DreamWorks, not Pixar.) So has anyone seen the Japan Dirt Race clip? It is so full of awesome. [spoil]The Doc mention is so awesome, I pumped my fist when I watched it. I also raised my arms in triumph after he turned right to go left. AWESOME!!![/spoil]
Don’t tempt me. I need to watch those clips so much…
But I’ll be good and contain myself.
One shouldn’t base it on the studio either.
Are some theaters will show the frist Cars movie before the Second one?
You mean like a double feature? Not to my knowledge.
i don’t think so…thatd be a little silly if you think about it…
but tomorrow night ABC Family is having Cars on at 7pm, along with cars 2 sneek peeks
Saw you post this on Twitter, thanks Bryko. All I can say is that at least he was honest about his opinion. And he seemed very apologetic about it (he shouldn’t be, he himself said he was a huge Pixar fan). I mean, if he went all AVGN or Nostalgia Critic furious-mad, then yeah, he’d be a troll. But his emotion was more of frustrated resignation, so I thought that was quite sincere; it was not like he was wanting to ‘hate’ on Pixar or anything.
And he did admit that if you’re a fan of Mater, you’re gonna like it. If not, you won’t. Fair enough. He said some good things about Michael Caine and Finn McMissile. Fair enough. Frankly, I don’t see what the fuss is about, he has a right to his opinion as much as we are to ours.
Keep an open mind, people.
Thanks jessie, I agree this review is pretty balanced (although I’m not sure what you mean by the “appeal to trolls” comment). I’m really looking forward to the scenery shots and Giacchino’s score (he impressed me with Mission Impossible 3, another great spy movie).
The thing that really worries me though are the [spoil]State Farm and iPhone references[/spoil]. I mean, we know these are sponsor companies, and Pixar has never done product placements before, so for me, this bit of commercialisation is pretty discomforting. I mean, Eve was inspired by an Apple product, that I can understand.
But an outright placement of [spoil]the iPhone[/spoil] is as blatant as that Android phone in Rio. And I wouldn’t expect that coming from a ‘better’ studio like Pixar.
sigh I really can’t believe we are a week away from Pixar’s sequel to the movie that started it all for me. You have no idea how much this means to me: My future loyalty to the studio, the anticipation of continuing the stories of the characters from one of my favourite Pixar movies, the high expectation to meet the standards set by Rango, Rio, and Kung Fu Panda 2… all this will be answered on June 24th (or whenever I get a chance to see it in theatres).
I mean, I know this probably sounds ridiculous to you guys, but there’s a lot at stake here for me on a personal level regarding Pixar.
Time to start watching the Tomatometer:
rottentomatoes.com/m/cars-2/
I really have no idea what to expect for the RT score of this…
This is looking like the first Cars. Exactly what I expected.
But I think this one can end with a lower score. Just for being a sequel.
i think it will score higher than the first one. maybe in the 80s, or low 90s.
I think exactly the same
I’m personally expecting this one to beat the first one, but I doubt it will reach the 90 benchmark. I’m thinking along the lines of high 70s, low 80s.
there are some reviews from people who watched it, read this one and judge it by yourself:
may contain small spoilers:
That review is fantastic!! I’m so happy it’s so glowing.
Well, if it had a score right now, it would be 75% (just like the first one), as it has four reviews and one is negative.
Let’s wait, but I really doubt it can score 90 or even 80. I hope so, anyway.
I really believe this one will get a higher score than the original. I truly do.
It’ll definitely break 80.
Honestly, I’m hoping(praying, if you want to go there) that it’ll get higher than ABL did.
