Central Cars 2 Discussion

A mod broke a rule? :open_mouth:

Well, Iā€™m not aware of that.

But I meant this generally. Itā€™s a message for everyone, if youā€™re a Cars fan, The Incredibles fan, or whatever you are.

I know, I understand, which is why I apologized.

I donā€™t mean to upset anyone or be rude. I just find double standards(which are held against me all the time, so I donā€™t want her having to have one) very unfair.

Itā€™s totally okay! I had no idea and I apologized! :open_mouth:

I know that you did, and I thank you for that. I was just answering to IV.

I didnā€™t made that post as a moderator, but as a member and a fellow fan. Itā€™s not a rule. Itā€™s what I think would be the most respectful way to treat each other.

Sorry if you think itā€™s a double standard. I donā€™t know who is the moderator youā€™re talking about or hat he did, bu it doesnā€™t have anything to do with me or this post.

Iā€™m sorry. I shouldnā€™t have even said that. :frowning:

cars 2 stands at an 80 percent right now, with 4 good reviews and 1 rotten.

also jeff garlin stars in this movie, as Otis.

Ooh, interesting!

starts hyperventilating Has anybody else noticed how incredibly close we are to viewing Cars 2 for ourselves? The excitement is almost unbearableā€¦I just had to fan gush. Iā€™ve got my tickets now and there are so many things Iā€™m looking forward to seeing that Iā€™ve lost count. Hey, does anybody think there will be something after the credits like the Minny/Van bit at the end of the first movie?

^ Great review! I had a feeling that Cars 2 would be extremely detailed. I also like all of the positive reviews Iā€™ve been reading, gets me more excited for Friday

I think there is a very good chance of a little scene at the end of the movie given the fact Pixar puts so much effort into detail.

Same here. And itā€™s nice that Cars is getting better reviews this time around. Not that I really care what the critics think, I will love it either way, but hopefully there will be a little more love for both the movies in general.

I am so excited for this movie!!! Itā€™s like Cars and The Incredibles wrapped up! Well, not really, but you know what I mean, action like. Iā€™m so excited. This might become my second or third or fourth favorite Pixar movie.

Iā€™m getting nervous. I really need this movie to do well.

Iā€™m not. Thatā€™s why I can only dwell in reviews

Iā€™m sorry, Spirit. Think how happy youā€™ll be, though, when you do see it!

Not a review as such, but the Guardian put up a great gallery of images from the premier:http://www.guardian.co.uk/film/gallery/2011/jun/20/pixar-walt-disney-company?CMP=twt_fd#/?picture=375946057&index=4

On the 5th image, the reporter gives his thoughts:

ā€˜I see the film later on the same night, and I find myself enjoying it ā€“ though perhaps not quite as much as some of Pixarā€™s other films. Itā€™s a hugely imaginative, visually ambitious piece of film-making that will not disappoint Pixar acolytes. This is not a movie that needs to make up for its faults by screaming about its imminent arrival in cinemas from the rooftops.ā€™

This is very high praise from a relatively high-brow UK newspaper. ā€˜Hugely imaginativeā€™ is the key thing here, and Iā€™m delighted such a high class reviewer would say so.

I can imagine this getting between 70-80 on Rotten Tomatoes. I bet the main line is ā€˜very good, but not as great as some other Pixar filmsā€™ with more dissenters than usual morphing this into ā€˜itā€™s not the same as the other Pixar films therefore it is poorā€™ due to a lot of preconceptions people seem to have about this film.

Aw, I canā€™t see it. :frowning:

Yeah, most of the reviews I see are basically along the lines of ā€œIts a lot of fun to watch, but its not really as emotionally stimulating as other Pixar films.ā€ Which, to be honest, I think is just fine. Not everything I watch has to bring me to tears.
