Central Monsters University Discussion

Yeah, I’m dying to see it!! I at least want to know about Randall.

I like your signature!

Actually Geoff, you are indeed correct. This is something I wanted to bring up myself. The events at M.I. indeed occurred in 2001, November 2nd (or 3rd, can’t remember exactly), according to the newspaper Randall had.
So yes this would be set in, apparently, 1991. Ahh the 90’s…are ALL THAT. Tehehe. Couldn’t resist. An interesting period to grow up in.

So I read on a couple sites that Mike and Sulley do meet in college, if that’s true then their’s already a plot hole.

You mean because of the line where one of them said that the other was jealous of them in a certain grade? Yeah, I see what you mean, but I have an idea. What if they didn’t actually know each other before, but they saw each other around, like in the hall or something, like they didn’t actually talk.

They would still have to know each other’s names. Sulley would have to ask “Who’s that guy”.

You think if they meet each other as kids they could do something that made them have a grudge over each other for all those years.

I saw the trailer in theaters for the first time earlier today during Brave, but the MU trailer didn’t have the green band trailer card, it just went straight to the trailer after Wreck It Ralph (which looks great BTW) all the other trailers had the green band trailer card, but MU did not. Anyone know why this is?

In one of the books, it states they first met in…ugh…Kindergarten or some other lower age-school…that Sullivan mistook Wazowski for a stool…footstool! Sorry, it was a footstool.
On another note, while making sure of the above claim, Sullivan brought his chair (the one with the tailhole and what was used for Boo’s costume) 10 years ago at a yardsale (or garage, skipped my mind which). Maybe we’ll see that?

Erm, Amy has a point. While I think Wazowski was just being smart about how he thinks he’s more attractive than Sullivan is, them catching each other in earlier events may have just been a passing thing.

It’s difficult to say if this has been an ongoing thing. Perhaps the whole footstool incident made them dislike each other. Kids CAN be cruel, so it’s unknown that…maybe that’s how it got started? How Sullivan became the jokester and had this popular crowd with him.

Wait saw th…I recall that Pixar isn’t doing trailers in theaters anymore…

Where did you hear that? I assure you they still are.

Well I think I recall some of their films not having Pixar trailers on them…I remember it was discussed way back, fearful it may become a trend. Think it was…WALL-E and UP maybe?

Both the WALL-E and the Up trailers were released on theatres.

What did happen was that the Up teaser wasn’t released with WALL-E, but after that.

The same happened when the Cars 2 teaser wasn’t attached to Toy Story 3.

Luckily, it wasn’t the case with Brave and MU.

Ah THERE we go. Yes…it was suspected that they wouldn’t be doing it anymore. I remember there was a topic or some discussion on it. But good, seems like it’s not the case.

The MU trailer and the Finding Nemo trailer are directly attached on the same reel, so technically it’s two previews in one. Thus no need to show the green band twice. (as far as I know)

Is this official?

Yeah, seems legit.

I wonder how the PP truck will appear. There will bw no humans in the monster world so they will have a smaller part.

My best guess is someone will have a test on a real human and you can see it out a window.

Well, there are cars in the monsters’ world.

They’re different, but they could easily blend a PP truck in there.

Where was it in the first movie?

Parked next to the A Bug’s Life trailer house when Randall gets vanished.

I fact, it’s just in the same place as in A Bug’s Life, but with a different location.

Surely, they might be in the same universe, right? Imagine it, Randall getting banished to the same trailer in which Bug City is located underneath.

Maybe, though I’ve always been of the school of thought that none of the Pixar films share universes.
