This coming year, I plan to attend UC Irvine as a Drama major. I hope to follow my plan in trying to be a professional actor. But at the same time, I’m gonna try to achieve a teaching credential. the next few years.
I’m going to a college in my new city I live in. I will take basics and something in animation or graphic design.
I will be attending Stonehill College this fall, a small liberal arts school in Massachusetts. I plan on majoring in history and theater.
Sounds fun. It sounded like my plan when I was in community college love70ways.
I’ve been noticing several similarities between the two of us TSS.
You’re going to have so much fun as a drama major! At Stonehill I think I major in Performing Arts with a concentration in Theater, but I’m not exactly sure.
I don’t think I could handle a conservatory program in acting, like at NYU or anything. I want to be able to study many things while placing special emphasis on theater, which is why I am really happy about attending a liberal arts school.
Well, it is my goal to do acting professionally. I want to use this opportunity to learn all I can, gain as much experience, and have a few connections as I enter the performing arts industry. However, since it is very difficult to get in, I’m going to try to get my teaching credential just in case.
Another similarity between us! I too hope to get my teaching credentials and pursue acting. I really want to be a history teacher and then do community theater as well, and maybe pursue something more serious if I am seeing success.
I think the idea of getting your credentials is really smart, just in case.
Dude, you and I think alike that it’s so creepy.
And I too wanted to be a history teacher. I think I still do, but nowadays, I’m more inclined to want to teach elementary school or preschool. As for trying to do acting professionally, I don’t care if I end up being rich or famous. I believe that if I can get by, being able to support myself, then I’m completely satisfied.
It is a smart idea to get the teaching creds, because my initial goal is going to be really hard to pursue since it’s a difficult field to get into. It’s like my backup plan.
Wow! I think you’d be an awesome elementary school teacher.
Obviously university/college is a bit different in the UK, but I’m saving up so I can do a foundation degree in art (hopefully). I have the A levels and BTEC, just need to save up!
That sounds awesome! Best of luck. We don’t have Foundations degrees here in America.
I actually have college orientation tomorrow into Friday so the next time I post on Pixar Planet after today, it will probably be my reaction to Cars 2.
Ahh, that sounds like fun! And I hope you enjoy Cars 2!
Can’t wait to hear from ya again love70ways.
I wasnt sure exactly where to mention this, but since there’s a college thread I guess I can put it here, cuz I am finally DONE with it! Thats right, I have a piece of paper now that says I have a skill. The degree is an Associate of Applied Business in Web Content Development. And it says I graduated Summa Cum Laude, meaning my GPA was between 3.9 and 4.0 Now the question is, what do I do with this piece of paper?
I love hearing every ones college plans, it’s great! And congrats lennonluvr!
I am currently attending a Community College in Northern California. It’s nice because it’s in a different town from where I live, but is close enough where I can still live at home.
My plans as of now are to do my second year at that college. And then go to another community college in Southern California and live there a year. Then I want to transfer to a University.
It’s all just a matter of money, my family doesn’t have any for my education. So I need to save up and find a University I can afford, and get into.
When you look back on it, you’ll be glad that you went through community college. It’s cheaper, and you get the general ed out of the way. I’m glad I did. My best friend said that you essentially get the first 2 years of a university from community college only cheaper.
Yeah, I have no regrets. And you’re right in these times it’s a wiser choice. I just wish I didn’t live at home still.
there are times where i wish I cold live on my own. But i’ll get that chance soon enough.
Community college for me (fortunately one of the best in the country) Will transfer to a four year though. My major is mechanical engineering.
Excellent choice for you Race&animationfan. It’ll save you money in the long run so when you do get to your 4-year, you can put your 100% focus into your major.
