Contacting the Pixar-ians.

LOL!

(Haha) That’s great!

Pfff – haha! That’s funny. Kinda makes you wonder…

:stuck_out_tongue:

OK, mark my words…
I AM

NOT AN UNDERCOVER AGENT FOR

DREAMWORKS!

I’m sure you’re not- I was just pointing out that

it’s a possibility. Humanity cannot be trusted with such valuable knowledge! xD But seriously, it’s just better

for them to be safe than sorry.

I emailed Afonso Salcedo. ^^ Hopefully I’ll get a response. There’s

always a better chance for a reply via the internet.

I’m sure he’ll reply. He’s a really cool guy.

How intresting. Well, there is one way to get in contact

with a fellow Pixarian. Make sure you are good friends with Maggie.

Haha – I knew I was gonna get “hit” for that. I know you’re

not an undercover agent. (snigger) Nice emoticon, by the way.

If she was a

double agent for dreamworks, then she will tried. I am just kidding. And Mitch is right. Where do you get it. It

is so cute.

You can

email Lou if you want to, FONY, but don’t give your hopes up. Not to sound

rude, but unless you have something to show Pixar, they don’t have time for you. I

called Pixar months ago because I had a portfolio question, but the receptionist told me I couldn’t speak with

anybody in a specific department unless I knew them personally.

As far as getting a job with Pixar goes,

it doesn’t really matter where you attend college. If it did, I wouldn’t have a

prayer. All they care about is YOU. They wanna see personality, skill, creativity, and a good work ethic. They

wanna see what YOU can bring to the table.

At least 2

Pixarians are registered, actually. One of them even stated in a post they work there. I have no clue who

he/she is.

The only reason he joined was for anyone interested in

his job opening posts to be able to PM him. DO NOT PM him about Pixar movies or anything else. You will NOT

receive a reply. Trust me.

~~=oP

Dear PixarVixen,

Thank you for all of this information. I must say, it was

really helpful to me. Now about the two members who claim to work at Pixar. Why did they join anyways? Surely you

must have a thought. I would assume that they would know that they would be bombarded with questions after

reavealing that they were from Pixar.

Did you read the end of my post? :stuck_out_tongue:

I don’t know why the other person joined.

A Pixarian can join just to become a member.

~~=oP

I got a response from Afonso, about 5-10 minutes after I sent the email. xD

He’s really nice. He basically said what I knew, that Pixar is an equal oppurtunity employer, and recommended to

try out for an internship. I’ll definitely do that when I attend CalArts, that’s for sure! ^^

I’m sorta

glad we don’t know who these Pixarians are on this board. I mean, if I were an animator at Pixar, I’d have

loads of work to do and wouldn’t want to be bombarded by PM’s and stuff. ^^ I’d want to feel … incognito.

^^

Oh, so there were two? Gee whiz. I

do remember one of the duo stating that he (I’m pretty sure it was a man) works for the company, although I

haven’t a prayer of knowing which member he is either. Heh – I remember he said that he loves this site though,

so there’s you’re proof that Pixar Planet is a favorite of some of the employees

who work at the said company.

FONY - Cool – I’m glad you got a

response!

Yeah, it figures that an internship would be mentioned/recommended. That’s the basic job to

take on if you’re a college student…

And I agree. I wouldn’t want my inbox to be cluttered with PM’s

and e-mails if I was an employee, either. Besides, they wouldn’t be able to answer everyone’s questions simply

for classifications and personal/job reasons. (heh)

If you know for a fact that two Pixarians

registered, imagine how many who have registered which you don’t know, and then imagine how many read this forum

without registering! I bet a lot read/lurk on this this forum.

For all they know, you could be an undercover agent for Dreamworks!
[/quote]
If

someone here asks for movie ideas, then you know they must be working for Dreamworks. OH

SNAP!

Why? Have you tried it?

FONY- I’m very pleased that you got a reply! Even though it doesn’t happen very

often, when you DO get a reply from someone like that, it can be very exciting.

And concerning the

whole colleges thing, it’s true what PixarVixen said- they don’t care what college you’ve gone to. It’s

actually becoming more of a trend to go to lesser known colleges, because if you still manage to do very, very

well without as much support from the college, then it proves just how good you are.

lizardgirl- I’m not exactly

sure what college I’m going to after my local college, but I’m trying to get into CalArts. I’ll take it out

on student loan. But chances are I’ll be going to … Disney college. I need to get off this island! *tears hair

out*
Anyways, I know they don’t care what college you go to, but I’m still wanting to get into a more known

college. I’ll have to figure out FIT’s waiting list thing, 'cause I’m on it. I’m thinking I might spend

about 5-6 years in college! xD Which isn’t so bad- as long as I’m bettering my skills I’m happy.

My student loans will be through the roof though. x_x

FONY- Just to

clarify, CalArts is California, right? I don’t know much about the arty colleges, but from what I do know, the

best ones seem to definitely be in America.

You might also consider going

to the Academy of Art in San Francisco if you can’t get into CalArts. They actually have Pixar animation

classes taught by Pixar animators.

lizardgirl - CalArts:

fv.calarts.edu/

And yes, it’s in California.

weirdworm - Really? Wow – that’s interesting. Almost makes me want to go

live in San Fransisco now. Sure would be an experience to learn animation from the masters themselves…
