Contacting the Pixar-ians.

Ture. CalArts is probably the most prestigious Arts University to

get into. You want to konw how hard? It it usually recommended to be a genious (Brad Bird, John Lassiter, etc.)

If you have talent beyond extreme, then you have a shot.

TSS- Yeah, it definitely sounds as though the best of the best go there…And if

it’s recommended by such famous people, then it really must have high standards!

gosh Id love to go to ClaArts >.<

and on top of it the girl who sits infront of me in class was accepted but she turned it down :open_mouth: who does

that?

Lanny: Well, I

think there goes her chance of meeting a couple of Pixarians.

Hello,

I’m new here, actually I’m here on behalf of my 5 year old. He loves anything Pixar and wants to send them a picture and tell them that he loves their movies. He has already told me that he wants to make movies like Toy Story, Cars etc. when he grows up. He enjoys watching the bonus DVD features on how they made the films almost as much as he loves the films!

Anyway, I saw the post with the General Inq. link. I will send his little note there, but if anyone ever gets an email address, I’d love to know what it is.

Thanks!!

Kara
Mom to a Pixar Fan

Welcome to Pixar Planet, tnt2002! I think it’s neat when parents of young Pixar fans join so they can express the feelings of their little ones.

As far as your note is concerned…For Thanksgiving last year, we held a letter-writing event to thank the good folks at Pixar for everything they’ve done. I asked participating members emailed me their letters, which I printed and sent to Pixar Animation Studios. Eventually, I was emailed a photo of our letters hanging in the mail room! You can view the photo on this page (scroll down): “Give your thanks!” Letter Gift

If we ever do something like this again, I’ll contact you and give you a heads up.

~~=oP

tnt2002 - Welcome to the wonderful world of Pixar Planet, miss! I think it’s absolutely charming that you’re here on behalf one your little Pixar fan. Perhaps he’ll end up joining this site himself when he’s older.

Thank you for the nice welcome!

I’m sure he will join the forum just as soon as he can. He’s already knows more about computers then I do!!

One of these days I’ll post a picture of his room, everything in it is Pixar, he choose everything from the posters to the sheets! it’s very cute!

Welcome to Pixar Planet!

tnt2002 - Haha – wow, the sheets too? Gee whiz. It’s nice to know that even the little youngins are obsessed!

And you’re welcome for the welcome.

My cordial welcome, tnt2002! I can personally garauntee you’ll have a great time here!

I’m sure your son will enjoy it here on Pixar Planet too!

I once e-mailed them last year in

January 2006.
My e-mail was forwarded from one department to another.
My response was it appeared to be

from an automatic e-mail response system (Although could have been from real person), in the

Human Resources

Department.

In my message, I had said a thought for if they

do produce a continuation to a feature movie production I had stated on the e-mail.
The feature movie and

thought I had told them are subjects that I will not say in text here for privacy issues.

But even though

I do not know if the response was from a e-mail bot system or a real employee at Pixar, it was likely still read

by at the very least one person there before it was deleted off their systems shortly after I sent the message.

Likely, they may have took my thought into consideration for if the said movie is continuated, but I will never

know anything of truth of it until it has been done so. That is, if the production is continued in years to

come.

I believe the response you

received came from a real person.

Replies sent to me from the studio are not worded in an automatic sense.

They mention things in relation to the content of my emails, things a bot wouldn’t be programmed to

say.

~~=oP

If you are going to contact to Pixar, don’t ever, ever,

ever, start writing about a movie idea you have for one of their films. This has

gotten them into trouble before, and the person from Pixar will delete your email/screw up your letter before

they even finish reading it.

Well, that’s what Pixar employees are instructed to do anyways.

Living in the San Francisco bay area, I’ve met five Pixar employees in my life and gotten connections to Brad

Bird.

My art teacher at my high school (Class of 2007!) was married to one of the shaders at Pixar,

Alex Seiden. He visited my school and I got to meet him a few months after The

Incredibles came out.

Right before the release of Cars, I visited the Cars Road Trip thing, across the bay

from Pixar. There were a handful of people who looked like they could have worked at Pixar, I recognized

Jerome Ranft, sculptor at Pixar and Joe Ranft’s brother. We talked for about 30

seconds.

I followed 2 Pixar employees at San Francisco’s Sony Metreon at a “The Art of Cars”

signing. I talked to Craig Foster, a grafic designer for Cars, and Jay

Shuster, a character designer for Cars. I was really nervous.

At a San Francisco Giants

game, the the day that Cars came out (Almost a year ago from today!), I saw a woman

with a Cars jacket on, and I knew you couldn’t buy it at the store, so I asked her if she worked at Pixar and

she said yes (but I didn’t ask for her name). I complimented the film and told her how much I love it (I had

already seen it twice on opening day!)

Lastly, but not least, my dad had connections to Brad

Bird. Brad Bird signed a piece of notebook paper for me, written to me, with a picture of Edna

saying “No Capes!” Then, this past March, I stalked him at San Francisco’s Wondercon and saw him

present the Ratatouille preview.

In short, YES, it is possible to meet Pixar employees. They are my

celebrities and I adore them all.

TheIncredible - Wow – that’s pretty darn neat! You’ve met five employees from

the studio and a member of your family has connections to Brad Bird. I’d say

that’s awesome in itself right there…

Wow, that is super neat,

TheIncredible!!

TheIncredible, you make me super jealous right now.

Count me as another one who is jealous.

TheIncredible-

To have met one person who works at Pixar is lucky, but to have met five?! And to have had connections with Brad

Bird- now THAT’S impressive! :open_mouth:
