Dreamworks still has time to conceptualize, produce, and make a “movie” to compete with UP here in the Philippines… After all, it looks like that’s how long (or short, for that matter) it takes for them to make “entertainment”. If I’m wrong, well it just feels like that’s how fast they do it. I haven’t seen a single Dreamworks film that can be as much as comparable to say the least with a Pixar film. I think that’s why most people would compare a Pixar movie with another Pixar movie. Nothing comes close.
um what am I supposed to say? Also this question popped up in my mind “Do you think they should make an Up 2 & 3?” NO!! How Up is there is NO WAY they could make a sequel! stupid brain
There are 119 days left for the premiere of UP in Japan. I’ll be doing rear guard duty again and be in a country to watch another Pixar film last. But I did go to the states this year and I did see UP in 3D, so I don’t feel bad this time. I can’t wait, again. Yeaaaaah!
12 days to Up premiere in Malaysia. I’m ready for all stakes that day. All geared up yet tweeds are so expensive! Photos coming that very day. Be sure to catch it! I’ll dressed up like Carl!!!
It’s out in Singapore already (I think last week). There’s a cute never-before-seen animation of Russell dragging his face across a popcorn machine on the Cathay site.
LOL, this animation was seen unrendered in one of the behind the scenes videos. I always wondered what it was for, I figured it was a test or something until now. Thanks for the link!
For lizardgirl and all those who are either waiting to see Up, or have already seen it outside of North America: is/was 3D available in your country? Will you (did you) see it in 3D? And how much more are the 3D prices vs. normal 2D?
Seeing Rey’s link to the Japanese posters and some comments about it perhaps not being 3D in Japan, I was wondering in how many countries 3D is an offered option to view it in…
(Wow, still can’t believe it hasn’t come out yet in the UK. But at least it’ll be there soon. Enjoy!)
In Spain, Up was shown on 484 regular screens and 141 3-D’s. It did almost as well there as in the U.S., altho I think there were more 3-D screens domestically with the large numbers of big multiplexes here. It just goes to show how far along 3-D has come globally.
Now ticket pricewise, miafka, I can’t say. Like ffdude I found it more enjoyable in 2-D, more emotive, instead of dealing with the gimmickry. It was already wondrous without the extra dimension, storylinewise, colorwise, etc… Now with IceAge3, that movie needed 3-D, lol. Actually to be fair, and I mentioned this over on the IA3 thread in the ‘Other Animation’ subforum, it’s the biggest 3-D movie by far, so far, and the quality of that extra dimension was a treat to view. If you have the 2nd highest box movie of the year available in 3-D, the rest will follow.
miafka- Well, it will be shown in 3D in my local cinema, but I’d like to watch it in both. What worries me is that at the moment, on the cinema’s listings, it only has the 3D showings up which implies that they’re not going to be showing it in 2D on opening night at all!
As for prices, for an adult, a normal ticket is £7.60 whilst a 3D ticket is £9.60.
