annarborjack: I think it’s so cruel when parents only have one child, I really do. I mean, cuz a sibling is one of the best friends you’ll ever have in your lifetime, and the fact that your parents have kept you from experiencing that is just awful! I have three siblings, and even though they can definitely be annoying sometimes, they’ll always be my best friends for life.
Have you asked your parents about a younger sibling before? Are they eligible and financially able to adopt? I think having an adopted sibling would be interesting and a lot of fun!
Okay I just wrote all that and now I’m unsure if you’re actually an only child or not. Haha!

Reason: I woke up a while ago, but now I’m slowly trying to actually wake up. I started a new art project yesterday while I was still in a depressed, crappy mood and intend to finish it, the result is going to look amazing if I can get it right. Now lets… hope I can get it right…
TSS: Wow, your school is really pushing it close, aren’t they? I thought assessments would be over by now… where’s the spirit of holidays? You guys should like, take to the streets in a peaceful march or something. Or put a thumbtack on the principal’s seat. But don’t let the cams catch ya!
annaborjack: I’m fortunate enough to have both a younger brother and sister, and trust me, they can be a real pain in the neck! But they can also be fun to ‘trick’ if they’re especially naive (but they’re much wiser for my pranks now), and are fun to hang out with as friend ‘substitutes’, so I’m really grateful to have them. I don’t know whether you have a sister or you’re an only child, so I can only suggest what little_chef suggested and ask your parents if they’re open to another child in your family.
little_chef: Well, I know you said we can’t change your situation, but I’m gonna insist on reassuring you (as a friend and fellow forum member) that things can get better. Of course, it could always get worse, but it’s up to you and God. You can’t change what The Dude Up There has in store for you and your family, but you can just keep praying for the best, and doing what you always do. I’ve also faced self-doubts, I’ve just graduated, but am doing a postgrad to ‘buy time’ and give another of my talents (writing) a go, so even at this point in my life I’m still exploring my options and haven’t quite ‘decided’ who I want to be yet. I also share your experience as being the first-born, so naturally the pressure’s on for me to get a job and start earning dough for my family since my dad’s retired. And like you, I’ve never had a job in my life (I’ve sent offer letters to cinemas, video game stores and even a small-time animation studio as an undergrad, didn’t get a single reply), and am going to give a shot at getting an internship at a news office in less than a week’s time, so believe me, it’s not gonna be easy. But nobody said it was gonna be that way. As for the ‘know-it-all’ on deviantART, he/she could be right. Then again, he/she could be wrong. The most important thing is, do you believe in miracles? Personally, I do. They don’t happen very often, but they do exist. You yourself said you’ve seen 'em happen.
Oh, and I kinda get how you feel about doing good things to others but not getting anything in return. But isn’t that what Christmas is about, the spirit of giving? Even if they don’t reciprocate, it’s still good karma, right? I know you can’t buy a Christmas turkey with karma, but I hope you get the idea. If you’re still unconvinced, you’re under no obligation to help in the first place. But I always believe in “Loving thy neighbour”… even if it just means a friendly greeting, or a warm smile. Someone’s bound to return the favour.
Mood: Exhausted
Another day of errands, this time setting up the Internet, accompanying the family to pay the bills and sending the family vehicle to be fixed. We broke down at a junction and had to wait for the repairman to jumpstart us to make it to the workshop! And today, Mother Nature decided to have a downpour! Hopefully I can have a free day tomorrow to catch Ptaf, Planet 51 or an advance of Avatar.
red- I dunno, I quite like being an only child. I’m not sure if I’d want to share my mum with anyone else now. Plus I think it’s meant that in the lack of siblings, my friends have always therefore been of particular importance to me, and most of us felt the same- out of our group of seven, five are only children, so we can all relate to each other. But yes, I can see how it would be lovely to have a sibling or two, especially if you get along well, so you’ve always got someone to confide in and talk to. I just had to use my friends for that instead. There have been times when I’ve loved the thought of having a sibling, especially as my mum is deaf, so she uses me as her telephone operator, and when I was younger that was a lot of responsibility…But now I don’t mind.
Mood: Happy.
Reason: Things have been good lately, and I’m looking forward to Christmas! What a great excuse to eat lots of food and drink lots of drink. One of the best times of year, I say!

Pulling an all nighter traditional animation lab with friends at 3 in the morning. Two major projects due tomorrow. So stressed. But you know what helps? Watching The Incredibles on a big projected screen. Even if it is full screen format (blegh).
Haunt: Hang in there! You can do it! You sound like me last week. I pulled a few all nighters working on my final projects but was perfectly content animating with friends.

Reason: I really want to be sleeping right now. It’s after 2am. Staying up really late during finals messed with my sleep schedule. Now I am wide awake at night and sleepy in the afternoon.
I hear ya Hannah, I’ve been that way all semester. It’s not the funnest thing, although I am rather tired at the moment.

Reason: Well, I had a decent night, waking up only to go get dinner and watch The Princess and the Frog (which was incredible I might add) only to come home, chat a bit with a few people, and retreat back into my lethargic state. There’s little, if anything I wanna do right now, and I’m just blaaaaah right now. :\
Reason: Got my physical out of the way, so now my primary care physician is going to make a referral to my chiropractor so I can get monthly treatment for my neck. She also talked with me about my weird breakfast-hating thing and a few other issues I’m going through, so it’s good to finally have a few answers.
As I mentioned before, I started a really intense art project (what’s new? ) and seriously plan to finish it. I have to. I mean, it looks too good not to get finished, and I didn’t think I’d make as much headway on it yesterday as I did, so I’m already off to a good start.
Omg, I had no idea! That is absolutely awful!! First the voice of Mickey, and now the last Disney to work there!

Mood: Completely and utterly moved
Reason: On Pixar’s Facebook page, they had the clip from Up where [spoil]Carl looks through Ellie’s scrapbook at the end[/spoil] listed as “Pixar’s most poignant film moment”… I’m not gonna lie guys, that clip alone had my crying my eyes out. I watched it twice and got my tears all over the laptop… great.
Proof that “cartoons” can be more than “cartoons.”
I know how you feel . And believe me, I mean it. I’m sorry you feel like that. All I can say is maybe you could sit down with one of your parents and tell them how you feel. But beyond that, I can’t tell you too much. I just hope things get better for you. God Bless.

Reason: We’ve had a crazy but good day today. We made Christmas cookies, and I got to see my Grandparents. And even though I got a little aggravated earlier today, it’s been pretty good so far . Also, my mom got us all a great Christmas present… the Wii !!! I was like totally freaking out! My mom, God Bless her, was able to find a way to get it for us. Because my dad really wanted it, too. We’ve really been blessed, I’m so grateful for it!
Mood: Somewhat nervous but excited at the same time
Reason: I’m going to the orthodontist today, so hopefully I can get a good idea of maybe when I’ll get my braces off, cuz I really want these things off! I hate braces!
Also, I’m going to a party this Friday for my Improv club, so that should be fun. And I finally started playing my bass guitar again, I really need to start learning how to play that thing

Sweet! FUN! Omg I know it’s so awesome going the theater with friends, because I once went in a group of 8 friends (though unfortunately 2 of my best friends couldn’t make it). Someday we’ll succeed in getting all of us to go- but you’re lucky, you got 20+ friends with you, and not to see just any movie but the latest hit Disney Classic! Lucky duck you!

I know how you feel about being excited about something though disappointed that it won’t be in time for Christmas. I’ve have the same feeling with videos- I really want to get these Christmas vids finished, but they’re getting stuck or not looking very satisfactory to me. Still, slow and steady makes it a better product in the long run. That applies to you and your Vi Incredible outfit. Hope you enjoy it!
My Current Mood: A little glad, real depressed now, and a pinch of stressed.
Reason: Glad because I finally have a day off of the stressful amount of homework. Real depressed because I just now found out from reading woody’s post (as well as little_chef_eva09’s and annarborjack’s, 'cause honestly, I visit the last page first on all threads…) that the last of the true Disneys with Disney blood died. This is truly a tragedy…God bless him.
Also a pinch of stressed because I have to catch up on some work besides homework. This includes research on art for a certain art project, sketching, some videos for Christmas (might not be done in time, but oh well it’s the spirit that counts), and writing. Seriously, think you’re a bad procrastinator? There’s a fanfic I really liked writing and want to finish, but I haven’t touched literally ALL YEAR. It shouldn’t take me that long to come up with what happens next, but I feel guilty because I actually forgot my own fanfic without meaning to for THAT LONG.
None of that stuff is all that stressing. I mean, artwork, videowork, fanfic writing- that’s all FUN stuff, shouldn’t be stressing. It’s not. They are enjoyable, it’s just the time that makes it stressful.
And, if that’s not enough, I seriously feel real guilty now…there’s this video overdue by a year that I need to start over on. It’s been more than a year since I said I would do it. I’m halfway through, but I got stuck, and now looking back at it, the quality of the footage was really bad, probably the worst, not worthy of a music video, so I’ve made the decision to start it all over again, remake it. That leaves me stuck again, becuase I have to wait until I can find the DVDs (and they’re rather underrated movies and hard to find sold around) to start again. I made this promise to someone that I would make it, and I’m not backing out of that. But I just hope it doesn’t seem like I forgot it all this time. I’d tell this person, but he would probably feel disappointed to be reminded of that, and mad that I STILL haven’t finished it and just now decided to remake it. What am I gonna do?
Why~ I am… or was snicker… cleaning up the house. It just annoys me that I’m the only one in a family of 8 that is constantly cleaning. But… I HAD to take a break and check on my favorite website. Pixar Planet rocks!

It was the last day of the semester, so everyone was free! Otherwise, I doubt if we could’ve gotten half that amount! What is even more amazing is that my friend planned it that Thursday night and so many people showed up!

Reason: All my friends are leaving for the semester. They are slowly leaving me behind. But I am going home tomorrow myself so all is good! Tonight I am getting together with a couple friends for a good bye party for the german foreign exchange student. We’re going to a German restaurant. Appropriate? I think so! I will miss her though. She’s been a great friend and she’s a great animator as well.
Reason: Just in a generally decent mood, gonna play some Tales of Vesperia here in a bit, hopefully some drawing later, and I found out my brother’s actually gonna be here tomorrow instead of next week! Yay! I can’t wait to have him home again. Should be great.
Reason: Between the little amount of money the family got from my grandmother, and after Dad found some old decanters that he sold to my grandfather, we had enough money not only to buy a few things to have under the tree on Christmas, but also enough to order a few of the things on our list online! Mom’s going to be wrapping a few of the things today. And just when I thought there would be nothing there on Christmas Eve… PRAISE GOD!!!
