Woot. I got it already. I’ve got
connections …
It’s AWESOME. They have loads of behind the scenes stuff on how they made Davy Jones
and the animation of the Kracken. When it comes out, buy the 2-Disc. It’s worth it. I always love to see the
‘making of’ stuff …
And the cover is awesome- rather creepy, has all these bubble things in the
background … weirds me out, lol.
I’m not
sure if I should get it. I didn’t like it as much as the first one.
The only
thing that bugged me about it was the ending. I spazzed. But they needed to leave it open for 'At World’s
End’. Which is due out next summer.
I realized the good movies I see I almost remember bit by
bit. I actually didn’t feel like watching it completely through since I remembered most of it. I love the
character designs and Bill Nighy rules and the special effects are amazing.

Nah – I’ll pass.
I saw the Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of
the Black Pearl film in theaters once and once only. I remember
walking into that theater thinking, Awesome! Another action/adventure film with explosions and
sword-fighting…. Ohh…I got that, all right – that, and a love story. Too bad I hate
romance…
I’m telling you, I absolutely hated the first one, and don’t plan on seeing the
second, although…I heard from my dad that the special effects are awesome. Guess I’ll have to take a peep at
it for that then, huh?
I really hope they have more swordfights in the last one. Or at least one intense final battle
swordfight.
The first is garbage compared
to this. After seeing the second I went home and tried to watch the first. I just couldn’t. Same with the HP
movies though …
This one has a lot more developed storylines and it all intertwines and once you think
you know where it’s going, there’s something you might not have caught or something that looks as if it
doesn’t mean something but it does, and I’m not making sense. =P
However, this was much better in the
theatre. Not so great watching it on DVD. Maybe I should buy one of those projectors and surround sound. ^^
The reason why the first was better for me
because:
More swordfights,
better adventure storyline
heroism & courage
I never saw either one cuz I just wasnt
interested…
I found out the real reason I wouldn’t like it is because it doesn’t resolve the
conflicts that arise. They make you long for the third. =P
Uh, ditto entirely, except that I definitly know I won’t be
getting it. Pirates of the Caribbean or Scrubs? There’s no contest.
Wow, I really feel alone. I must be the only one on the board who appreciates
it.
Then again, I do hold anything fantasy/fiction-related in high regard,
and I do love pirates. ^^;

FONY - Ohh…don’t feel too
alone there. I absolutely love pirates – I wanted to be one when I was younger.
Heck, I still wouldn’t mind taking the job.
One of the main reasons I went to see the first
Pirates of the Caribbean film was for, well, the pirates and the action! I would
have liked the thing better if it hadn’t centered around a love story. I also feel that the story could have
been a little less complicated…
And everybody’s
so obsessed with Johnny Depp…
And Orlando Bloom! Eeek!
Apart from that, they are good films.
Not at all; I love the Pirates movies, and plan on getting the DVD
sooner or later, I just didn’t really get around to posting here until now. Also, Vimfuego and JamieLew are
most certainly fans (they’ve only got Pirates avatars…
), they just haven’t been around a whole lot as
of late.
I’ll probably be asking for the DVD for Christmas, since so far I haven’t been able to think of
anything else… Pirates DVD and a Wii.
It’s good to know that the DVD features are really good. I
rented the first movie (I wanted to see it before seeing Dead Man’s Chest in theaters
), and the bonus
features were good, but nothing too spectacular. Of course, I didn’t get around to
the commentaries before having to return it, and Pirates 1 didn’t have Davy Jones or the Kracken.

lizardgirl - Exactly – I despise those “fan girl obsessions”.
Another reason I don’t favor the first film so much is because my favorite character – Captain Barbosa
– got blasted at the end. I heard tell that he came back in the second film, but still… (heh)
There was another fairly big thread about POTC II - I
liked it, I’ll maybe get it when I have money, though I might hold on for a box set
Woo, I’m not alone.
Although I’m not an obsessive fan. I admire Johnny Depp’s character but I’m not
hopelessly in love.
And thankfully there wasn’t much romance in the second.
The fangirls are too
much. Neopets.com is infested with them. They refer to Orlando Bloom as ‘Orli’.
to the pirates movies i give a giagantic YAWN . Sorry , but it’s just not my thing . And
Johnny Deep creeps me out .
gottalovepixar- I respect your opinion and all, but you don’t have to be mean.
=/
that was supposed to be polite . i
least i tried to make it polite .
OMG did that sound impolite too ? because i tried to make this
as polite as possible , it’s just 8:30 pm . i’m not my full self at this time of night .
