It’s just a random question that came out of my head. and when i say

I said no, but there should be more choices, like "some parts of Disney,
but not all of it". I think the Disney classics are great, but the newer stuff is not to my taste.
Are you kidding? I love Disney. I
loved them since I was born, and even now. In fact, I am doing a final project on the Man, Walt Disney,
himself.
I
like Disney movies. Recently, not so much, BUT they are getting back in the swing of things, so that’s
nice.
I HATE Disney Channel though.
I voted yes, but only to some of Disney.
I love the merchandise, I love the classics, and I LOVE the parks, but Disney Channel, among other things, is
stinkin’ up Disney’s reputation.
~~=oP
I used to love the
Disney Channel, but now, things have changed. And I hate to say it, but the changes made to Disney Channel
haven’t been so good.
I don’t think that’s even a question! I LOVE Disney!
Haha!
But you guys have to admit, Disney was the company that gave Pixar their break. So I think if you hate them,
you should still have a respect for them.
I voted “yes”, and for good reason:
I have grown up in/with a family of animators, so my love for the subject (animation) is beyond great.
All of my childhood memories consist namely of cartoons, movies, and tv shows – my blood is half-infected with
70% animated spirit. Henceforth, my adoration for Disney Studios has existed ever since I saw Snow
White on tape.
The Disney Company – though rather unnostalgic these days – is a big part
of my life. I absolutely love the old films; the characters; the songs; the plays; the theatrical moments; the
parks… Going to Disneyland or Disney Studios with my family was like going to heaven for a day…for me.
And yep – this is yet another reason why I absolutely admire Pixar Animation Studios to the highest
degree. They all came from some animated past and many of them worked at Disney – knew what it was like to spend
time in one of the biggest businesses in history. And they have carried on that tradition by telling adequate
stories…like Disney used to tell, and in creating unforgettable characters…such that Disney made in the past.
Now-a-days, I am quite ashamed of the studio in general, strictly concerning what it has become: a money
hungry powerhouse. But, despite the company’s flaws, I still have a very emotional tie to the place. I watch
Pixar’s films because they are, to me, what Disney Studios used to be like in the good old days.
I am
also sorry to admit that I hate the “new and improved” Disney Channel. Oh, how I wish I could go back
in time – heh…
I have said my peace. (snigger)

TSS- Oh, I have plenty of respect for Disney, I just don’t like the company right
now. As I said, in the past, Disney was spectacular, creating truly top-notch films for both children and adults.
Now, I just don’t bother watching Disney movies (aside from Pixar films) as I have lost faith in what was once a
great company.
I’ve always wondered what Walt Disney himself would think of his company’s evolution
up to this point. I think he’d be awestruck and somewhat disappointed all at once. Despite the progress Disney
has made since Walt’s death, the caliber of their films has gradually grown
poor.

I love Disney. I may not agree with how the company handles things from time to time … but I
love it. I preferred ye olde Disney channel life, not what it is now.
I am sure he would. If there was going to be any
changes to anything related to Disney, it had to go by with his approval in order
for it to be made. After all, that is his personality.
I don’t see much of The Disney Channel or anything so I don’t have much of an
educated answer. But even though disney’s quality has gone down in recent years, I voted yes. Disney still
creates entertaining movies (POTC) and still somewhat respects story. They own ABC, a highly successful tv studio
and now own pixar.
PixarVixen:I think what he would be most shocked at would
be the size of his company. Look up Disney on Wikipedia and you’ll see all kinds of subsidaries. Kind of sad,
isn’t it?
The
fact that Disney’s movies haven’t been very good recently makes me all the more heppy that they’re starting to
get things done right once again. ![]()
What happened? A long time
ago, Disney was creating stuff that would just cream the other competions. What happened to it now?
Eisner happened. At least I think it was mostly his
fault.
Well, with Pixar having say in non-Pixar films, I’m sure it’ll boost Disney back up to its
original state.
Eisner isn’t entirley to blame! There were many other
conrtibuting factors as well. Besides, Eisner was responsible for A LOT of good things to the company - The Lion
King, Disney on Broadway, Beauty and the Beast, etc. He just got greedy.
Disney’s probably rolling in his grave right now. ![]()
Eisner had many faults, but
Meg is right – he did contribute to a few fair things at the company/studio.
However, after he turned all “Emperor Palpatine” and felt the need for more power, things started to go
downhill. Now the studio is all but at the bottom of the hill; thankfully, Pixar is doing something to change
that…
I hope that it will just go back to what it used to be: a caring, thoughtful corporation that
produces just 2-D films. But that’s just me.
Do you think Disney will ever return to the prestige it once had?
