Shrek forever indeed.

…oh dear…

I don’t like how they changed some of the titles. ooberMind instead of Master Mind? :confused: Shrek Forever instead of Shrek goes Fourth? :confused: Kung Fu Panda: The Kaboom of Doom instead of Pandamonium? :confused: This is one of the best buisness moves I’ve ever heard. :laughing: {not}

MAKE IT STOP!

I’m not trying to be critical too early but look at what they’ve got planned:

How to Train Your Dragon I could see as a bad movie only trying to get fantasy lovers to see it.
Shrek Forever is the worst title they could have picked. Don’t they realize that every review will have something like “Shrek may go on forever, but it’s not needed,” or “Sometimes I wish Shrek wouldn’t go on forever.”
Oobermind deals with superheros, and the superhero genre is almost out of ideas.
KFP: The Kaboom of Doom. Yes PANDAMONIUM was a bad pun, but this just sounds like a Dr. Seuss book.
The Guardians sounds like more fairy tale spoofing, or something of the like
Puss in Boots is not needed, it’s just for more money
ANOTHER Madagascar sequel?!
And who knows about the last three…

I’m sorry if I’m not giving them a chance. You might say I’m being really mean. But I’m just writing what first came to mind, and what first came to mind is typical Dreamworks.

8 movies in 2 years. Dreamworks is obviously about quantity over quality. Like 1986, the first thing that came to mind was ‘typical Dreamworks’. They might be making money in the short fun, but in the long run they are only hurting themselves. Well, maybe not. People seem to like the kind of humor in their movies. Sure, I don’t mind it, but I’d prefer a good, solid story any day.

I’ve decided that Dreamworks can’t really be compared to Pixar. Their priorities are totally opposite. Dreamworks = quantity = money. Pixar = quality = good story they would want to see.

Shrek… FOREVER

Haha… funny

I think I just threw up a little… :frowning:

I think I’m just going to stop going to these films just to see how they are… I think that’s where most of the ticket profits come from

Yeah. Just wait till they come on DVD and RENT them!

Edit: That means I won’t see any more Dreamworks films in the theater anymore. :smiling_imp:

Yeah, i will probably end up doing the same thing, except for the second Kung-fu Panda, I’m really curious on how that one will turn out…

The ghost one sounds good…

Clearly they’re just going on demographic and the success of prior films.

How to Train Your Dragon is most likely trying to draw in the “Jake Long” and Jackie Chan Adventures crowd. The description could even be used for either.
Ooberman will hopefully not try to be like The Incredibles. (a-la Shark Tale v. Finding Nemo. It’s like Dreamworks never got over the fact that they did a bug movie a month before Pixar did.)
The Guardians sounds reminicent of The Nightmare Before Christmas (mixing of holidays). Hopefully people won’t try to compare the two. Then maybe it might do well.
Truckers sounds like 9, but not nearly as cool.
I’m not even going to acknowledge the sequels.
The best news coming out of this I feel is that they do not plan on doing a sequel to Monsters v. Aliens, which I feel was probably their best since the original Shrek).

I think this list just cements our stereotyping of Dreamworks movies. “Talking Animals? check. Celebrity voice cast? check. Can it be franchised into a sequel and or TV show? check. Now where’s our money?”

The only ones I’m looking forward to are How to Train Your Dragon, The Guardians and possibly Puss in Boots.
HtTYD has dragons … when was the last time a great Dragon movie was made? Dragonheart? The latest, Eragon, was abysmal. :frowning:

And seriously, enough of the sequels already? I mean, Shrek 4-ever? Granted, it sounds epic, but it also reminds me of the worst Batman entry in the franchise…

Oobermind is probably titled to appeal to pre-teens… I preferred Master Mind cos’ it’s a brilliant play on words. Sounds a bit too much like the Incredibles meets Iron Man to me…

Pandemonium sounds so much more fun and cinematic than The Kaboom of Doom (which sounds like a TV episode). At least the dynamic duo are returning.
The Guardians has the potential to be good, sounding a bit like 9 or Lord of the Rings or something.

Puss is one of my fave characters, so this interests me, but the plot doesn’t sound cool enough to me… I’m hoping the ‘street-savvy kitty’ is a she-cat so we get a little Zorro-romantic tension! :smiling_imp:

As for the Madagascar sequel, I really hope they get back to NY this time.

Isn’t Truckers that book by Terry Pratchett? I remember reading it a few years ago… it was quite an amusing take on human consumerism from a Lilliputian’s point of view!

Man…what exactly is looking good in that list???

Wow, I LOVE PIXAR!!!

I can’t believe that half of that list is sequels…now that is bad.

How long will it take for people to just stop wasting money on these movies. Seriously, they’re planning more than sequels than actual movies!

lol, Shrek Forever…
That reminds me of the never ending “story” called Duke Nukkum Forever. The game was in development for 12 good years before 3D Realms (it’s creator) finally went bankrupt recently.

Anyhow, Not looking forward to any of those films besides (maybe) Kung Fu Panda: Kaboom Of Doom, just to see how they pull that off. :stuck_out_tongue:

This is just sad.

Actually, that sounds really cool! I’m excited for this one

I have a few opinions on the animation schedule.

First off, they have seriously have gotta stop with Shrek. If this keeps up, they might do a really bad spin-off TV series and ruin it even further.

There are two movies I am quite excited more from Dreamworks: Kung Fu Panda 2 because I loved the first one. KFP is probably Dreamwork’s best movie. I loved the story and characters of the first one, and it is nice to see them again. Now hopefully, they won’t overdo it with countless sequels like Shrek.

I am also excited for Oobermind. I love the Super Hero genre, and Robert Downey Jr. is brilliant, and Tina Fey is hilarious.

Wow… Could someone quickly say “I told you so?”

Expect Dreamworks Animation to be one of the biggest contributor of the moviepocalypse.
