DreamWorks Animation announces official 2010-2012 projects

“Kung Fu Panda: The Kaboom of Doom”

…PLEASE LET IT BE BETTER THAN THE TITLE MAKES IT SOUND. PLEASE. The first one was great. Don’t ruin it guys…

Shrek Forever? What, are they gona make it a Batman crossover or something?

How come Dreamworks wont realise franchises do NOT last forever?

And…the kaboom of doom? Seriously? What does that even mean?

Though, yeah, Oobermind sounds kinda interesting, which is a feat for Dreamworks. Though it does kinda feel like they took an idea from Pixar.

I’m looking forward to news of How to Train Your Dragon. I loved Lilo & Stitch and I believe Sanders and DeBlois will not let us down! Oobermind sounds intriguing

But they really need to stop with the Shrek and Madagascar movies…And I don’t have a good feeling about a Kung Fu Panda sequel.

I only read this post to see how ridiculous the slate for DW is. It didn’t disappoint. And oh, what a splendid time for them to announce their upcoming releases? As if it could thwarth the success of UP by making people excited about mediocrity? Some may just be, but viewers are now becoming smarter. A few more of the Pixar pedigree and people will realize the real value of their money.

Wow, 8 movies in 3 years? Sensible, if they are thinking of beating one Pixar film with 2 or 3 DW films. But then again, if I won a stack of all the DreamWorks Animation films (all 2,543 of them), I would easily trade it for a beat up, DVD full of scratches, copy of CARS… I don’t care if it even works!

After reading that list, I think I died a little on the inside.

Wow, reminds me of Disney. Churning out endless sequels based off of what used to be a good and well-known movie. Can’t believe I wasted four dollars renting Madagascar 2. Never going to spend money on a Dreamworks film unless it has an original plot or involves pandas (I’m a sucker for pandas. Darn girly side.)

Me too.

I think the dragon one sounds good. But that is just HORRIBLE.

First look at Oobermind:

The characters look okay. (The hero looks like a modification of the President in MvA)

Now that I’ve seen that, I only have three words to say about Oobermind… What… the… heck…? Not only do the hero looks copied from MvA, the alien looks like the alien, the girl looks like Ginormica with black hair and a change of hairstyle (her animation style is very '80s-ish; kinda the kind of style the characters in MvA are adapted into for the whole '80s monster movie feel), and the name… god, don’t get me started with the name. The Nightmare Before Christmas rip-off much? There was this villain in that movie with a similar name, and if Oobermind is the title of the movie, it is likely going to be the name of one of the characters, possibly the hero.

So, in turn, you get the name of a villain ‘adapted’ into that of a hero. NICE.

Oobermind looks like a piece of crap. I’m definately not going to pay my hard earned money for this.

EDIT: I heard somewhere that Ben Stiller will be in this. I bet he’s that blue guy. It kinda’ looks like him

Most sequels aren’t as good as the original. A lot of those movies are from Dreamworks. They really have to stop this. Shrek Forever? KFP Kaboom of Doom? And yet another Madagascar? I’m having trouble believing these will be good.

Bryko614: God, that does look bad. The way how the characters are posed look kinda weird… :frowning:
From the same site, Shrek 4’s poster with yet another revision of the title:

Somebody Stop Them!

Now, now, let’s not totally cast out the sequel system just because certain money-grubbing companies ruined that terminology.

It is good news for us, I would say. For one thing, Pixar loses its competition. For another, Pixar (along with Disney) has finally lost its product-stealing rival. Say goodbye to those days when The Wild was being called ‘a rip-off of Madagascar.’ :-D)

It’s like Christmas all over again.

That looks good. Oobermind looks like a white Superman in his outfit. I would love to see what will be the plot of this movie.

That’s why they’re smiling…

You can tell exactly what they’re thinking…

Shrek: “I may be smiling, but I’m depressed on the inside…please no more sequels.”
Donkey: “Ugh…I’m sick of this…smiles uncomfortably

Or Mike Myers could be thinking: First the love guru now this! Why did I sign that wicked contract

Sorry for the double post but I just read {on Wikipedia} that a halloween shrek special is in prodution called Shrek or Treat? It might be good though. Shrek the Halls was alright.

Lol I laughed really hard a that

I’m a pretty big fan of the Shrek sequels, even though I do think they’re kinda stupid… but seriously? Why must they torture us with countless franchises! they should have stopped at Shrek 2
