Hey, California Pixar fans, where were you during the 5.4 earthquake this morning? Share!
I was at work. Shelving books and working on the computer (I work at a sheet music store). I felt a little rumble at first and I thought I was dizzy. But then things started shaking a little and I realized that this was an earthquake. My boss shouted “EARTHQUAAAKE” really loud in a funny way. I don’t live very close to Chino Hills, so it wasn’t that bad. Lasted about 5 seconds. Although, I was in a one story building. My mom was at work in a two story building and said that they were shaking quite a bit. Everyone’s wondering if this is a precurser to a bigger one…
yeah i heard about the earthquake on the news around 3pm and to be honest im not suprised becuase that is where most earthquakes happen right? i am happy no one was killed though
Yeah, California is earthquake-prone.
And yes! Fortunately, after the huge one in 1994, the buildings were all checked and constructed to enforce the safety regulations.
I live in the area that the earthquake ranged in, but I didn’t feel anything. I think my parents at work did. I think they are alright, they called and asked if we were okay.
It made the news here, too. (But then again, most semi-major US news does…) I’m glad the people that are on this forum are ok. I know quite a few of you are from California so that’s who I thought of when I saw it on the news.
Good thing it was a minor one and didn’t cause any huge damage or serious injuries! I was reading a book on the staircase when I felt it. At first I thought someone was jumping upstairs, but then I knew it couldn’t be. After that I prayed.
Apparently, aftershocks are expected to follow soon, so people of California, be prepared.
But I must admit, it was kinda exciting just to know how it feels like. Of course, it would NOT be cool if it was any more shaky.
When some kids stampeded by on the second floor of a building I was in a few hours later, some people in the same room as I joked “Earthquake!”
Wow, I’m glad you guys are OK . The worst thing is if something falls on you, so stay clear of falling objects. There was a small quake where I live not too long ago, but I was one of the only ones that was sleeping through it!
I felt it while I was in my home, second floor. I’ve felt earthquakes before but this shook quite a bit and much longer than I’m accustomed to. It’s an experience that is hard to describe, but the building swayed a little for a few more seconds after the initial rumble. You will not believe how much glasses and dishes rumble from the trembles!
