True to that.
Unsure if Pixar will stick to it’s one movie a year or
step up to two…
Well, Cars is the first film Pixar has released in two years, isn’t it? And I’m sure
they’ve had several other two year gaps…I think maybe they’ll be slightly more consistent- a definite film
every year- but I’m not sure about two…
I think that was the plans before
Pixar changed it’s agenda.
But Monsters Inc. might be expected soon as a “good rumor” of John
Lasster (name escapes me) is working on “a project with monsters”
The “rumor” was originally posted on Jim Hill’s
site, and it involved Peter Docter, the director of the original Monsters, Inc.,
recruiting some new animators on college campuses, and telling them that he was working on a new project
“involving monsters”.

Ah. There we go. Thank you Pitbulllady.
I’ve heard that rumor pop up in several locations
now and it seems to be gaining alot of creedance (-3pts sp) as time goes on rather than fade away.
I read
an article not too long ago that Pixar is looking to step up production to deliver more films that are still top
quality. That’s why they’re acquiring entire top quality teams like Brad Bird and his crew which netted nearly
50 new employees for Pixar most of whom followed Bird from their work together on The Iron Giant. Meanwhile,
other entirely new crews are being formed under Stanton, Docter, and Pinkava which will set up several quality
groups that can be working on separate movies simultaneously. The article also noted that there were several
movies in productiopn already and Pixar wanted to be consistent in two movies a year by 2009. Note the fact that
they’re pretty much consistent at one per year as Nemo, Incredibles, and Cars were all slated for one year
intervals except that Cars was pushed 6 months to capitalize on its release and this is also consistent with the
acceleration of their production rate since prior to this it was 2 years between films from Big’s Life to
Monsters to Nemo.
Addmitedly though I read this article before the merger with Disney so how that will
have an effect I don’t know yet.

There does seem to be a split going on here. Pete and his team are working on, if
I recall, Toy Story 3 or Ratilloue while John and his team are working on, given the rumor, Monsters Inc.
If Pixar is splitting their efforts, then maybe their confident that they may be able to push out new
films two at a time.
Yep - I should clarify
though. It’s not really a split so to say just that one team takes the lead on each project but they all have
some input. Kinda like how Brad was in charge of The Incredibles with his closest animators taking the lead but
they still met regularly with Lasseter, Docter, Pinkava, and all the other animators and staff to exchange ideas
and get feedback. It was just that team that had to make the final decision.

But of
course.
Ratilloue (the word escapes me) is the next Pixar film out. If I recall it’s a full Pixar effort.
As for the next films…it may be Toy Story 3 and Monsters Inc. 2.
Ratatouille, as far as
I know, won’t be under Disney’s name, but looks amazing nonetheless- the advert’s great- so Pixar definitely
don’t need Disney, and so it sounds that the idea of Pixar doing several films at once is very plausible.
hehe - looks like someone’s a little late on the news -
Disney OWNS Pixar now. But Pixar will still retain its name and most of the bigwigs at POixar are now the
bigwigs at Disney rather than vice-versa - in alot of ways it’s more like Pixar took over Disney.
Oh right- I knew that there were
talks about the two sort of merging, but I wasn’t sure whether anything was official yet. We had a discussion
about this on Boggs’ Board, and to be honest, although there are many advantages for Pixar concerning what’s
happening, I would prefer if Pixar separated from Disney completely.
Boo is my favorite character in any Pixar film. I love it when she’s in Sully’s bed and she falls asleep. Or
when she’s hugging Sully to say goodbye to him. Boo is the cutest little kid, imaginary or real, that I’ve ever
seen. I just love Boo!
OMG, I love Mike so much! I especially crack
up whenever he yelps in pain, i dont know why. I guess it’s just how Billy Crystal voices it. Plus Mike’s so, i
dont know, energetic & stuff. Plus I also loved the musical bit! "It’s a musical! Put that thing back
where it came from or so help meeee. So help me! So help me! And cut!" And later on "She’s out of our
haaaaiir!"
My favorite characters are Randall and Sulley

I wonder if most of the monsters were drawn from
imagination or just inspirations from other monsters.
You can tell such things from the early drawings of a character.
(ok, he’s about the size of a human
male…)
OK, I know I read somewhere that Randall was 5’0 standing on all fours. How
tall would he really be assuming he stands upright on just two of his hind legs? (Sounds like a math problem,
doesn’t it? :3)
